I ended up using 4 - tubular netting, tubular peyote, tubular herringbone, and russian spiral.

One of the stitches that I decided to incorporate works best with swarovski crystals (russian spiral), so I pulled out my stash and sought out colors that also called out of the glistening snow and sparkling shadow.

As I neared what felt like the center focal point, I was inpsired to add a focal bead; so once again I was pulling out my stash, this time of focal beads and cabachons, to find one that felt like it fit. Lo and behold, I found that I had purchased one Blue Lace Agate - the very colors of which are the foundation of this necklace -- pearl white and pale blue. I captured it in a net of seed beads, and fringed it with crystals. and then on up the far side of the necklace toward completion.

The ends are finished off with sterling silver cones, beads and S-clasp

The necklace is 19 inches long and trails off to seed beads in the back to prevent it from being too heavy to wear.

a word about the Tiffany pendant:
A purple, lavender, white stone sometimes with patches of mauve, yellowish-brown and black is found in beryllium ore (Bertrandite) . This stone is known as opalite, ice cream opal, opalized fluorite and opal fluorite. The name Tiffany Stone presumably comes from the jewelry company of the same name that used it in some of their designs.

Mined in the state of Utah, USA, this is a form of opalized stone that forms in mineralized nodules. It is composed predominantly of dolomite, opalized fluorite but often found with minerals such as quartz and chalcedony.

A beautiful stone in varying shades of dark purple, lavender and creamy white with swirls of dark and light yellowish brown and pink areas takes a high polish when cut en cabochon
It is caged in grey ice delica seed beads that hold the stone securely.

comes with a satin cord necklace, please specify color (black or white) and length.

for a beaded necklace, the pendantcoordinates with the iced purple netted dana chain necklace:
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=34401350

A word about the stone:

Bertandite is sometimes called the Tiffany Stone because of its crackled appearence. Considered one of the most scarce, beautiful and unusual stones in the world, this stone comes only from one very small area in the Western deserts of Utah, the Brush Wellman beryllium mine, where beryllium is mined for use in missile nose cones and many other high-tech metallurgical uses.

Unfortunately for the jewelry world, most of the material is ground up as part of the beryllium extraction process - so, not only is it rare because of the sole location, it is even more rare (and consequently expensive) because so little of the material ever escapes the ore crushers.

It is the perfect accessory for an evening out for the holidays.

This 6x4in pouch is hand woven using a combination of stitches - the identical front and back panels are worked in flat herringbone with netted sides. the drawstring is a spiraling tublar peyote of blending the colors of the knots. the lining is hand stitched golden satin.

The difference is highlighted by the copper wire wrapping and being strung with bronzite buttons, smoky quartz and copper rings.

A word about the stone: Astrophylite

Astrophylite is a potassium, sodium, iron, manganese, titanium silicate with a hardness of 3.5. It is tan, brown, black and copper coloured with dramatic lines and star bursts of mica-like crystallizations.

Mystic Lore: Intuitive sources say Astrophylite can aid one in travels beyond the body, achieving lucid dreaming and expanding consciousness to higher realms. It is said to help reveal the hidden pattern of one's Divine blueprint and to aid one in realizing one's life purpose. In doing so, it can help one release bad habits and addictions

Looking up and seeing the light streaming through the various bezeled and bubbled glass in geometric panes stirred my imagination and inspiraion to create this piece.

It is 92x105 beads (roughly 6x10 inches), containing over 9,300 seed beads; handwoven using the flat herringbone technique, and taking over 30 hours to weave.

This 24" dutch spiral is the result of one.

Having a college-age daughter, I immediately thought of the beach and the annaul pilgrammage by many to the southern shores and sandy beaches and sun. The ribbon on this Dutch Spiral reflects the waves lapping the shore, the gradiations from white foam to deep blue of the sea. The gold trimming captures the radiance of the sun on the baeches.
