These dangly mosaic earrings were initially round glass beads. I used multicolored stained glass (blue, yellow, red, and green) and white grout. On the top there are two red disk shaped plastic beads.

This piece of art was made with all recycled and salvaged materials. It is 2 feet wide and 17 inches long. The salvaged pieces we set onto a piece of plywood and grouted with three different colors of grout The black grout brings out the brighter colors while it makes the darker colors melt together. The lighter color grout fragments the pieces. The brown color grout gives the pieces a feeling of harmony.

The color white was used to symbolize death in the spirit of many West African cultures. The making of a mask represents a connection between the maker and their ancestors. I have a very strong connection to this mask.
