GREAT CONDITION:
Typical crazing throughout, NO CHIPS, and just one super small, super short, super tight hairline at the rim near the design of the turret along the front edge of the cup.

Such a sweet & eyecatching old piece! (pardon the WHITE SPOT in 'kindnesse'- JUST GLARE, not a defect.

LARGE! Measures approx. 6" diameter x 3 1/2" tall
Fresh from an old PA estate.

* R&M Co. were importers, wholesalers and retailers (particularly of souvenir wares), New York, c.1893 -1938.

The mark you see on the bottom of the mush cup is a diamond with "R & M Co" and is believed to have been produced by British Anchor Pottery Co. for Rowland & Marsellus in or about 1860.

The handle appears to be original and is iron. Wonderful reddish tones, some scratches and small chips.

There is surface wear to the bronze-like finish.
It apprears that the Indian was re-attached a long time ago.
The Arrow is a little bent.

You can see the broken leg best when turned upside down.
Above you can see how it gets lost in the shadows.

*Please note: what looks like a crack in the image is not on the surface, is apparently underneath somehow, not a surface crack.

No musty odors. Half of the latch is missing as you can see. The binding is still quite good, the pages aren't loose from the spine.

Such a beautiful cover with VERY little wear to the velvet!

*PLEASE NOTE: what looks like a white spot along top edge of glass is just glare, not a spot.

Frame is 15" x 12". The print area is about 8 1/2" x 7". There is a sage green mat and a pieced ivory mat.
A little age wear but nothing broken or torn.

It does have its glass! Lovely and ready to hang.
The frame is painted wood, ivory color on the front, a darker green along the sides. The print is 1800s, the frame job is probably 1950s or so.

Spoon-Carved Cottage Style
'Clock Shelf'

Truly sweet. Showing some age but overall very nice, well made, charming. Not wobbly, not broken or loose.

It's not extremely heavy but is made of solid wood not ply. Original surface.

Note the little hand-carved stylized flowers. Three holes are in the back plate (see photos) for screwing directly to your wall.

The top measures 17" x 6". A little dusty but not musty. Lovely!

Original and one of a kind portrait.
Note the pale pink highlights on his cheeks.

Guaranteed to be on glass -- is NOT a tintype in daguerreotype framing. Please note that the photo's black backing is important to the image's appearance and should not be removed. The CASE, however, and the metal framing may be removed if you wish!
But, again, please note that the backing on the glass needs to stay as it is part OF the photo itself.

Lovely framed as decor or for use in your artwork!

A LITTLE BACKGROUND on AMBROTYPES:
Underexposed collodion negatives on glass were bleached out by treatments with nitric acid or mercury bichloride. They were then backed with black lacquer or black paper to present their positive image. They were often mounted in elaborated cased frames with a hinged covers. Many times, today, they are found with just one side of the frame, the side the photo rests in. Each ambrotype, just as with daguerreotypes is a single-print, one-of-a-kind -- a truly unique image from a single exposure. They were easy to tint, so ambrotypes often were detailed with gold paint to accentuate jewelry or with rosy browns to highlight cheeks and lips. By the late 1860s or era of the Civil War, ambrotypes were mostly replaced by tintypes and cdvs / carte de vistes.

Because it has some damage (as shown -- enlarge the photos) we're offering at a low price. In 'Good' condition, it's value today is about 75.00. It is authentic, antique, NOT a reproduction. Many Victorian tip trays are worth hundreds but while still fairly rare, Fairy Soap trays were made in more quantity.

Wonderful decorative piece, collectible and just so sweet.

Approx. 12" x 7 1/2" x 7".

Great for storing favorite stationery, writing instruments, love letters, candles...

With some age wear and use wear, but solid and well made, sturdy & strong.

Some stains inside (apparently from old spilled ink) but easy to line with your favorite papers if desired.

It would be a serious shame to refinish the exterior with its authentically crackled varnish atop the flower decorations and patina, but the inside would be easy to 'clean up' by inserting velvet-covered cardboards into the surface (I've done this without even gluing down) or etc.

OLD, not reproduction! Beware of 'vintage style' items being represented online as genuine.

Fresh to you directly from an old Pennsylvania estate! No musty odors!
