The flowers in the upper white field are dimensional. They were applied with texture paste (hard to photograph this detail) This creates a nice effect and can be seen when viewed up close.

"i was made to love you" was inspired by a road trip with a friend. We had just heard an inspirational story by a mutual friend about how she met her husband. On our way to dinner we came across a gem shop. As we were considering some rose quartz crystals to place in our homes to call in our respective beloveds, this tidbit of a song lyric came on: I was made to love you.

We both registered the lyric at the same time and grabbed the pink rocks we had in our hands and dashed to the cash register!

I came home and made this painting in homage to the experience.

this is a very vibrant piece with some of the "petals" painted in a beautiful teal metallic

i began this piece after my first weekend of kundalini teacher training and just finished it/reworked it/refined it

the red and magenta color was something i wanted to work with and the overlapping circles is a motif i've been exploring in my last few pieces (inspired by the connections of overlapping circles on facebook)
