"Ghost World" earrings:

Hammered, hand-forged fine silver circles are linked together and balanced with a small round of translucent, phantom-like lodolite quartz. Absolutely lovely!

Lodolite is a beautiful type of quartz with floating algae-like inclusions in it. These little stones are a clear with a faint green tint, and have tiny white and/or green flecks swimming within.

These earrings are about 2 inches long from the top of the earhook. The larger circles are about the size of a nickel. Each lodolite bead is 6mm.

I use 16 gauge wire to make the hoops. The earwires are 20 gauge.

Nice Girl earrings - hammered flat - sterling and fine silver

The Nice Girl earrings - tiny silver hoops that hang just below your ears and go with everything. This version features a hand-forged fine silver circle that has been hammered flat and hung from a handformed, circular, sterling silver earwire. The earwire has also been hammered to match the hoop that hangs from it.

As a subtle detail, each hoop is brushed on the front side and polished to a mirror shine on the back.

Who knew it bold and cute went so well together? These little round vintage charms are made of solid raw brass. The dangle neatly from from my own hoop-shaped, 18 gauge, sterling silver ear wires.

(18 gauge wire is a little thicker than the average earwire. This gives the earrings a strong, solid look. Most people can wear this gauge, but I am happy to make these with thinner earwires if you prefer. Just include a note in the "Message to Seller" box when you order.)

I used to call these "Trellis" earrings because of the lattice-like design of the vintage brass finding. However, when I re-formed the findings to have the curving look you see, the final earring reminded me of the inside of beautiful of art-nouveau era theatres. The bright blue-green rounds of Russian Amazonite bring the perfect bit of color and contrast. I hung them from earhooks that I handformed from raw brass square wire.

The total length of the earrings is just under 2.25 inches, or 55 mm. The gemstone rounds are 8mm in diameter.

Cynthesized earrings - vintage dimpled givre glass and brass findings

I made these earrings for my dear friend Cynthia and loved how they looked, so here are a pair for you!

These are some of my favorite beads; they are petite, in a four-sided oblong shape with a sweet dimpled texture all over. They are givre glass, which means they have a swirl of colors, in this case a lovely pale green and soft yellow that beautifully accents the brass wire and findings. The findings that hang from them are solid, raw brass and are also vintage. I put all these pieces together with one piece of wire that also forms the earhook.

The vintage glass is West German, made around the 1950s, so approximately 50 or 60 years old. They are in immaculate condition.

From the top of the earhook, these earrings hang 33mm, which is just about 1.25 inches long. The glass beads are about 7mm x 4mm, and the vintage brass rounds are about 6.5mm in diameter.

A translucent deep orange, vintage-glass blossom peers brightly from just below the earlobe, perched upon polished sterling silver wire. The vintage glass bead is West German, probably from the 1950s or 1960s. These beads are a little different from my other vintage flower beads in that they are more cup-shaped, with a ruffled look to the petals.

I heat-forged, shaped, and hammered the sterling silver into a special design that holds the bead then turns into an earhook. The wire I use is 18 gauge, which is just slightly thicker than average but almost anyone can wear it.

These are so pretty and very fun to wear!

These are sweet little earrings featuring rounds of vintage glass in a gorgeous green color--except on one side where a blue-tinged AB coating reflects the light. The beads were purchased in the 1970s, but are probably older than that. Along with the beads, the handformed brass earwires dangle vintage, mod-looking leaf shaped findings.

Very light, fun, and easy to wear earrings. Also - these are one of a kind earrings - I don't have anymore of these amazing vintage beads!

Note that the glass is more of an emerald green than teal--the third picture reflects the color best.

I heat-forged, formed and hammered sterling silver wire into perfectly-shaped curls, and perched delicate-looking vintage glass rounds on them. The silver has been oxidized to achieve the dark patina. These earrings are tiny but the beautifully contrasting black and clear blue really makes them show up.

Handmade lampwork glass from Japan, probably from the 1970s. They are clear with thin tendrils of bright aqua blue swirled throughout. They measure about 6mm.

succulent rounds of vintage fluorite dangle from a uniquely shaped vintage brass link. the fluorite is held in place by the teeniest little brass beadcap on the bottom, and a wire-wrapped spiral on the top.

the finishing touch is a pair of my generously curvy handformed earwires. the wire is gold-filled wire, not brass so those with sensitive ears should have no problem wearing these. the wire is 18 gauge, which is just a little thicker than the average earwire. the thicker gauge and shiny gold complete the solidity of the dangles, and the shiny, golden brass.

the name of these earrings comes from the many symbols of femininity they carry: the hour-glass shape in the vintage brass link, the spiral of gold wire at the top of the stone, and the moon-like orb of fluorite.

the beads i used in the earrings are Fluorite, one of my favorite stones, in a gorgeous Spring green color. these vintage stones were hand-cut in Asia almost 25 years ago, and have retained their color and polish beautifully.

i am completely in love with the vintage brass chain that provided the little oval link holding the bead. i'm not sure how old it is, but it is at least 20 years old, and i know it came from France. (ooh la la!)

the tiny beadcaps at the bottom of the beads are also vintage.

Handmade Glass and oxidized Sterling Silver earrings

i just have to highlight these beads because they are really special and amazing to look at. i usually only use vintage glass, but these are new and irresistible. They were handmade on Lopez Island, one of the beautiful San Juan Islands located in Washington State. Lopez is a small, quiet island populated with artists, craftspeople, farmers, and lots of characters.

the beads i used in these earrings look like decadent little candlesticks. they are the most gorgeous translucent shade of chartreuse, a yellowy-olive-green. They have spiraling lines etched down them, so they almost seem to be spinning, even when perfectly still. truly stunning!

to showcase the beads, i used darkly oxidized sterling silver for dramatic contrast (though they would look striking in bright silver as well!) They are wire wrapped and dangled from a tiny circle, which hangs from the earhook.

total length is about 2 inches (52mm to be exact). the beads themselves are one inch long (25mm) and 5mm thick.

I love coming across odd vintage glass beads that make me wonder what they would have been used for...these are definitely in that category! They remind me a bit of those old toy jacks. I'm so glad I snatched them up, as they look GREAT with thick gauge ear-wires. I just formed simple hoop ear hooks out of 14 gauge sterling silver to hang them on, as the bead itself needs no additional fuss. I wear the pair I made for myself all the time, they are the perfect bold but not overwhelming look.

These were made around or shortly after the World War II era, in West Germany. The glass is opaque black, and has a matte or "frosted" texture, so they have a rough rather than shiny appearance.

The beads measure about 15mm from top to bottom, and 12.5 across at the widest point. On the earwires, the total length is 1.5 inches (38mm). The wire pictured is 14 gauge.

Featherweight earrings - brass and enamel

These incredible enameled brass earrings are bold and sophisticated; striking but not overwhelming.

The main pieces are feather-shaped findings made of brass with a textured, black enamel coating. The roughened, matte finish gives them a cool, almost industrial look. They are dangled from curving, hand-shaped, brass earwires and accented by delicate blades of ginger-colored brass.

These are ample-sized earrings, with the black feather pieces at 73mm long x 20mm wide. Though they are solid, they are also quite thin so they are lighter than they look! With the earhooks, the total length is about 85mm, or 3.5 inches.

I love how these turned out! Long leaf-shaped oval earrings with lovely circular detail. A spiral is at the end of each earring, which holds a hammered, fine silver circle. The circle is lightly brushed to add texture to the look.

The main part of the earring is made of 18 gauge sterling silver wire that I formed into the earring by hand. I made the fine silver circles through heat fusing, shaping, and hammering techniques.

The total length of these earrings is 2.25 inches (58mm). The fine silver circle is .5 inches diameter (12mm).

Beautiful vintage glass beads with unusual faceting are the star of the show. I shaped oxidized brass wire into an earwire that holds the beads in one continuous piece. The final piece are little teardrop-shaped brass findings that are also vintage. I love the color in these beads, it is a smokey absinthe green. The unique faceting makes for lovely diffusion of the light.

Long dangles made up of vintage, raw brass chain dotted with a perfect sphere of green onyx, also vintage. This chain is fabulous and unusal; I love its sleekness, and the green stones give it an exotic appeal.

I formed the earhooks out of 20-gauge gold-filled wire.

The beads I used in the earrings are vintage rounds of green onyx. Green onyx is a natural stone that is color treated to achieve its rich, emerald green color. These vintage stones were hand-cut in China around 25 years ago, and have retained their intense color and high polish beautifully.

The vintage glass pieces are amazing--they are Czech glass from the 1920s and have hand-cut faceting. When you look at them closely, you can see all the lovely striation in the color. Very special pieces!

ok, so the name of these earrings is a little obvious, but I couldn't resist!

True to the name, the earrings feature beautiful vintage rounds of gemstone Tiger's Eye. The polish on them in so shiny that you can see the reflection of my hand in one photo. They are probably around 25 years old, and came from China, where they were carved into perfect little spheres.

The stones are wire-wrapped to a vintage brass chain that I recently found and am in love with. I'm not sure of it's actual age but i would guess it's vintage, probably at least 30 or so years old, and came from France. It has hexagon shaped links that are connected by figure-8 shaped jump "rings" (jump figure-8s?)

I hung them from vintage brass lever-back ear-hooks.

Long and very fun to wear!

These are 52mm in length, which is just a touch over 2 inches long. The gemstone bead is about 8mm.

these are so pretty! a tumble of oxidized sterling silver circles fall from shiny black vintage glass caps. the circles hold tiny, faceted smoky quartz gemstone that sparkle like stars. i hung the earrings from my own earwires, which are sterling silver that has been oxidized like the circle chain.

These earrings are around 2 inches long. The black vintage glass beads are 11x7x6mm, and the smoky quartz is about 4mm.

Charming little dangles that feature two wonderfully unique vintage pieces: a beautiful, seafoam green, opaque glass bead that is not only square shaped but has grid-like facets on the front; and a simple, solid brass, cube-shaped finding. I adore both of these pieces; they work perfectly together in the replication of shape as well as in the contrast of the delicateness of the glass with the industrial look of the brass cube.

I made the earwires from brass square wire to continue the angular theme.

The vintage glass piece is Czech and over 80 years old. They are in perfect condition and incredibly unique. I haven't seen anything like them.

Total length of the earrings is 1.5 inches, or 39mm. The glass is 5.5mm on each side, and 3.5mm thick. The brass piece is 6.5mm on each side.

"Cold as Ice" earrings:

Icy clear, geometric-shaped vintage glass beads hang from long drops of sterling silver. I handformed the silver earwires to play up the mod look of the beads. Very stylish, mid-century modern look for those of you who know how to play it so cool...you know who you are!

These vintage glass beads are Czech glass, probably from the 1950s or 60s. They have a softly squarish bell shape that looks like just melting ice.

Almost 1.75 inches long, about 43mm. The beads are about 8mm high and 9mm wide. The earwires are 18 gauge, which is just slightly thicker than average. I would be happy to make these earrings with thinner earwires if you would perfer, however.

A bright, vintage-glass cherry blossom peers brightly from just below the earlobe, perched upon brightly polished sterling silver wire. The vintage glass bead is West German, probably from the 1950s or 1960s.

I heat-forged, shaped, and hammered the sterling silver into a special design that holds the bead then turns into an earhook. This is a polished silver version of my other design which uses darkly oxidized silver.

Unbelievably cute and sweet little earrings!

These are small...
From the top of the earhook to the bottom petal of the flower, the length is almost 1 inch, or 25mm.
The flower is 11mm in diameter.

Nuclear green color absolutely radiates from these vintage glass oval hoops. I loved the strength in the clean, simple lines of the glass, so I used thicker, 18-gauge wire to make the ear hooks. I made the earwires hoop-shaped to work with the curves of the glass. Very striking!

***NOTE***the last two pictures show the earrings with even thicker 14-gauge wire, but this listing is for the 18 gauge earwires. Please contact me if you are interested in the thicker gauge.

All metal used is sterling silver.

The glass hoops are vintage glass that has never been used. It is in absolutely *beautiful* condition.

Earrings hang almost 1.5 inches, or 36mm. The vintage glass ovals are 20mm long x 13mm wide x 3mm thick.

Earwire is 18 gauge, unless you contact me about a different wire thickness. 18 gauge is slightly thicker than average but most people are able to wear it just fine.

I formed these sweet little hoops out of fine silver and hung them from sterling silver earwires I designed to replicate the circular shape. All parts were forged and formed by me.

Very delicate-looking but easy to wear!

"Fine" silver is 99.9% pure silver, whereas sterling silver is an alloy made of 92.5% silver. The remaining percent is usually copper. You can also find Hill Tribe silver, sometimes called Thai silver, which is 95-99% pure.

The more pure the silver, the softer the metal. I harden the fine silver in my pieces through hammering techniques and tumbling.

A vintage, solid-brass, cube-shaped dangle is the focus of these ultra-modern earrings. I formed thick sterling silver wire into spare, angular lines to go with the brass cube for a simple and bold look.

Each side of the vintage brass cube measures 6mm.
The earrings hang slightly more than an inch long, or 26mm. However, they can be made longer, just contact me to discuss what you would like.

A tumble of fine silver circles looped together make up these earrings, with a single, faceted labradorite stone at the center of it all. The labrodorite is a pale translucent grey with lots of light play and delicate black speckling. The handformed, sterling silver earwire is circular shaped to blend with the dangles.

These earrings are 2 inches long, or about 50mm. The bigger hoop is 22mm across, the smaller is 15mm. The labradorite bead is 6mm.

20 gauge wire was used to make the earhooks, which is an average gage. Please contact me for customization if you would like a larger or smaller earwire gauge.

To open and close the earwire without distorting the shape, open them "sideways" rather than pulling the circle wider; i.e., hold the earwire so that the circle side is facing you. Each thumb and forefinger should be holding one end. Push the pierced end away from you to open, put in ear, then reverse the direction to pull it back in alignment. This shape is great because it makes it very hard for the earrings to fall out!

Jaded earrings - Chinese jade and fine silver

Tiny hoops of handforged fused fine silver, holding little rounds of Chinese jadeite gemstones. The hoops are hammered slightly to add texture and character. They hang from handformed sterling silver earwires, securely attached with a double swirl detail. Light, delicate dangles for pretty ears!

Although many stones are referred to as "Jade" there are only two types where the name is accurate: jadeite and nephrite. These little stones are jadeite from China. They are a lovely blue-green color swirled with white, reminiscent of cloudy blue skies.

Total length is 35mm, or 1.4 inches. The jade beads are a just a wee 4mm, and the diameter of the hoops is 10mm.

Gorgeous chrysoprase drops glow like green sparks at the ends of these elongated oval hoops. Chrysoprase is always beautiful, but the darkly oxidized silver sets off the bright stones brilliantly.

The healing properties of chrysoprase include soothing heartache and loneliness, reducing depression, and promoting emotional balance.

Fine silver was fused, carefully handformed, hammered and given a dark patina to make these earrings. Sterling silver was used for the earwires, which were also handformed and oxidized to match. A light brass brushing "ages" the metal for more character.

I made these hoops by forming, fusing, and hammering fine silver wire, and hung them from my own oxidized sterling silver earwires. After the hoops are formed, they are also oxidized, then given a brass brushing for an industrial, matte look.

Great, all-purpose earrings that go with everything.

These are smaller sized earrings. The total length of the earrings is about 28mm, or just over 1 inch. The hoops are 15 mm in diameter (That's just under 3/4 inch.)

These can be made in a different sizes with a variety of finish options, such as polished silver, blackened silver, or gold-filled (only earwires can be gold); or more or less hammering. So may options!

These are another variation on the Nice Girl earrings -

I hammered random divots into these tiny fine silver circles and gave them a rich, black patina. They are hung from handformed sterling silver earwires that were left shiny silver for a lovely contrast.

These are the best go-with-everything earrings! They are always there for you when you can't decide what earrings to pair with an outfit. Cute and hip but don't overwhelm other jewelry and are SO light and comfortable to wear. You'll be amazed at how often you wear them!

Love, love, love these! I hand-formed large sterling silver hoop-shaped earwires and hung small, fused, fine-silver circles from them. The circles hold gorgeous, clear grey cone-shaped beads.

The shape and eye-popping color in these earrings remind me of a flowering cactus. I love the contrast!

I oxidized sterling silver to use in wrapping these wonderful vintage beads and to form the curving earhook.

The beads I used are truly special: the "cacti" are pieces high quality, hand-carved, sparkling aventurine, purchased by my supplier 25 years ago in Hong Kong. The red flower at the end is vintage Czech glass, dating back to the 30s or 40s.

Aventurine is said to be emotionally grounding and to provide mental clarity and self confidence.

Emerge earrings - green onyx and sterling silver

These richly colored, green onyx stones are so bouyant they almost seem to be floating! I hung them from earwires that I carefully formed into soft, pretty curves. The earwires are sterling silver and have been hammered for a just-slightly flattened look. They are made with 18 gauge wire, so are a little thicker than average earwires. This adds to their bold look andd makes them more durable in holding their unique shape.

Not only are the stones beautiful, but they are over 25 years old! The color is brilliant and the stones maintain a high polish despite their age. Onyx is a type of chalcedony. Most commonly, onyx is seen in solid black but in nature it is usually "banded", or striped. Like black onyx, green onyx is treated to attain its color.

The earrings hang about 1.5 inches long, or 38mm. The stones are 12mm diameter.

Beautiful teal colored vintage glass with soft edges and dimpled texture sit atop vintage rounds of solid brass, on hand-shaped brass wire earhooks.

The vintage glass is West German, made in the 1950s, so approximately 50 or 60 years old. They are in immaculate condition and the color is brilliant.

From the top of the earhook, these earrings hang 30mm, which is just over an inch long. The glass beads are about 6mm diameter.

Small, sweet berries of rich green Jade and gleaming black gemstones cascade from a sterling silver chain of little circles. The earrings hang from my uniquely designed sterling silver earwires.

These earrings would look fabulous as part of a dressed up look, especially with short or pulled back hair. They have great movement and sparkle.

These are high quality stones and it really shows; they are just too pretty. The Jade is rich, dark, spinach green British Columbia Jade. The black stones were labeled "black opal" when I bought them, but they may also be onyx. Either way, they shine like diamonds, due to a fabulous high polish and the amazing, tiny facets they have.

From the top of the earhook, the earrings measure 2.25 inches, or 56 mm. The little gemstone beads are 5mm.
