This cookie was on his way to the library to check out a book on caring for your houseplants, when out of the blue - CHOMP! there went a hearty bite of him. The shock hasn't quite kicked in yet. Maybe after the next bite. He is quite delicious, I'll have you know.

He measures a decent 1.25 x 1". Currently he is meant to be a brooch, but I can absolutely put a magnet on him if you would prefer. Maybe you can help calm him down when he realizes his lifelong dream of becoming a professional hula-hooper is never going to come true.

These little peas are so blissfully optimistic about life that they are beaming from their tiny pod house! I know it's out of character for me to create happy things without a motive to maim or traumatize them in some fashion, but I have... but it was a mistake. There are only 4 of these brooches in existence, so snap them up while they are available. They were a mis-heard custom order (as in the person wanted a peapod with 4 happy peas, not 4 peapods with happy peas inside)... confused? Apparently reading convo's at 4 a.m. is never a smart idea for clarity's sake.

This brooch measures 1" x 2" and it completely handsewn. They are handmade with love by me here in Vancouver, BC and because of this each one may vary a teensy bit from the one pictured. But I guarantee that you will be happy with your Bittersweet!

This listing is for one little angry cupcake brooch or pin (you specify which you would like in the notes to seller after purchase). You choose the colors! I love making these little guys, and this one will be just for you!

The usual color choices are: pink, lavender, blue, green, or cream. But if you want to get wild I can pretty much do whatever you wish (red, bright green, yellow, etc). The turnaround for the cupcakes isn't too long - I can usually finish it in 1-2 days. Please let me know if you need it sooner and I will put a rush on it! :)

Summer brings joy to most people: lazy days at the beach, playing badminton in the backyard, swimming in the ocean, and in the case of Samantha the strawberry, a quick whirl around the blender and poured into a glass with an umbrella. Mmmmm margaritas.

It's quite understandable that Samantha is not the happiest fruits on the block at the moment. She is unsure why summer can't be associated with more delicious foods like crawfish and old tires. To each their own, I keep telling her.

I would like to start off this post with a bit of a disclaimer. While we around here at Bittersweet Friends try our very best to keep these posts family friendly (and by 'we' I actually mean 'me') some times mild obscenities must be used to fully convey the personality of a particular little guy.

Case in point - these guys are the best accompaniment to sushi - they go together with rice and seaweed like - ketchup and french fries. Peanut butter and jelly. Pickled pigs feet and whatever revolting thing that may go along with those too.

Many of my Bittersweets who have multiple guys in one brooch often have a happy part and an angry part. It's a bit like yin and yang, trying to balance out the universe. Wasabi and Ginger are no different. Ginger is sweet and tangy (and therefore extremely undeserving of being consumed, regardless of how delicious she may be). On the other hand, Wasabi knows full well that he will burn the hell out of your mouth, and he ain't going down without a fight. He's a bit of a little bastard, truth be told, and that's why he has that smug grin on his face. Let's teach him a lesson, shall we? Where did that soy sauce get to?

This particular brooch measures approximately 1.5" x 3". Each Bittersweet is 100% handsewn with love by me (and therefore may differ slightly from the one pictured, but I guarantee that you will love it). We all do it. Occasionally when taking the cookies off the pan one will fall off the spatula accidentally onto the floor or counter. It isn't anyone's fault really, but sometimes cookies become dismembered. Admittedly at my house this happens intentionally as all broken arms and feet immediately fall into my mouth becoming "testers". It's all about quality control around here, folks.

Ginger and Bready are casualties of too much rum & eggnog. They are not the least bit festive... they take turns pouting and reminiscing about the good ol' days when each had all 4 delicious limbs in tact.

Maybe next year there will be less cookie carnage... but it's unlikely.

Lawrence *hates* this saying... he believes it should be rewritten to state: "When life gives you lemons, gently and lovingly place them in the corner and go and accost a zucchini instead". Wordier, yes - but certainly more catchy, you have to admit.

Bernie had one job to complete. One. It wasn't even a big job like watching to make sure crocodiles didn't eat the dog or taping the newest episode of Lost. He was assigned the task of watering the neighbors beloved orchid while she was away on vacation. Now if you are at all into horticulture you'll know that despite being slightly sensitive flowers, orchids are fairly low maintenance and need to be watered ONCE every month or so. And Bernie forgot. Now the multiple prize-winning orchid is withered and brown on the windowsill, and the neighbor is scheduled to be home from Egypt later this week.

Bernie is currently checking the Vacancy listings in the paper - he's fairly certain he can pack his things and be out by Thursday. He will not be leaving a forwarding address.
