Unique Copper Decorated Functional Blue Gourd Birdhouse

This unusual shaped gourd has been painted blue and decorated with recycled copper wire and glass beads. It measures 11" tall to the top of the hanger and 11" wide including the stem. The nesting area is about 6 1/2" wide. This birdhouse has a 1" opening which makes it suitable for wrens and other smaller birds. The copper wire around the opening will keep larger birds from making the hole larger. I have drilled drainage holes in the bottom and coated the birdhouse with 3 coats of polyurethane to make it completely weather proof. It can be either hung from the wire loop or also will stand free.
I would suggest bringing the birdhouse in during the winter months and spraying another coat of polyuretane on it before putting out again in the spring.

This unique gourd birdhouse is painted a beautiful light sky blue and decorated with copper wire. A copper coneflower attracts the copper butterfly and both are surrounded by swirls of copper wire. This completely functional birdhouse has a 1 1/8" opening, drainage holes drilled in the bottom and has been preserved with 3 coats of polyurethane to weather proof it. I would suggest bringing the birdhouse in during the winter months and giving it another coat of polyurethane before putting out again in the spring. This will insure that this birdhouse will last for many seasons.
It measures approsimately 12" high and 6 1/2" wide at the widest part of the gourd.
