These Boots Were Made For Walkin Repurposed Barbie Pink 1980s Style Ankle Boot Earrings

These boots were made for walkin' but that's not what they'll do. One of these days these boots are gonna hang right of off you! They'll hang off of your ears that is, if you're the lucky buyer.

On a thrifting venture, not so long ago, in a land, not so far away, I found a bunch of Barbie shoes, boots, and accessories. These items inspired my line of repurposed Barbie items.

These boots measure about 1 and 3/8 inches tall, are a shade of pink I refer to as "Barbie pink", and offer a touch of childhood nostalgia, a touch of fashion, and a ton of fun! With the ear wires added, the earrings are just over 2 inches long.

I use silver-plated ear wires to make these earrings.

Since these items came from the thrift previously used, they may have some wear and some do show their age a bit in places. In my opinion, the slight aging adds to their charm and uniqueness.

Each of these are made by hand so even two pairs made from the same style of shoes or boots are unique.

These are intended for adults only and are not intended for children.

I cut pieces from aluminum cans, ensure there are no sharp edges, and assemble them to make these lovely little flowers. This one can take on its new life as a brooch/pin, barrette, hairpin, or magnet.

This would also look lovely as an altered art, collage, or mixed media component.

The flower is about 2 inches in diameter.

This particular flower was cut from a generic grape pop can.

I used a rhinestone brad to hold the flower together and to give the pin a bit of sparkle.

As each of my aluminum can flowers are made by hand, each one is unique.

I'm always looking for new ways to use vintage images and before Christmas, about a year ago now, for a local craft show, started making round earrings from cardstock that were laminated and they were an instant hit. This pair features Scarlett O'Hara in her famous red ball gown and measure 2 inches tall by 1 inch wide at the bottom.

Features an image of the Waterhouse painting titled "Ophelia". Waterhouse painted this subject on more than one occasion. This particular version was painted in 1894. This would look great in any room.

Image is decoupaged over a white plastic contractor's grade switchplate cover, fits a standard single switch, and measures about 3 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches high.

Includes two screws for mounting. With these, it's simple to remove an old, boring cover and put up a new, more creative one, in minutes.

Push Pins made from unused cork-lined vintage bottlecaps and clear push pins.

These are great for adding a touch or retro, nostalgia, and a ton of fun to your studio, kitchen, workspace or just anywhere!

Even though the bottlecaps were not previously used, they do show their age a bit in places. In my opinion, the slight aging adds to their charm and uniqueness.

Each of these are made by hand so even two sets made from the same brand of bottlecaps are unique.

This set of 4 was made from Diet Grape Soda bottlecaps. Today was quite overcast and dreary so I had to take my pics inside and the colors didn't show up as well as I'd like. These are a lovely shade of purple just like a grape.

Smothering Darkness 8 X 10 Framed Altered Art Poetry Collage

I was looking for a way to be able to display and sell some of my poetry and was struck by inspiration while creating some of my collages. I call these my "Altered Art Poetry" and this particular one features several of my original photographs which were taken in Charleston, SC in June 2007. Photos and poem are printed on acid free paper and each piece has been hand assembled in the style of a collage.

Poem reads,

"Smothering Darkness
Waking from a dream, drenched with fright.
Still echoing, the scream, escaping into the night.
Wind howling, predatory, unrelenting
Swirling tentacles, grasping
Waves of emotion, momentarily choking
Once again, for air, gasping
Shafts of light from above emerging
Through ominous clouds, piercing
Through tear-filled eyes, vision returning
Slowly, realization dawning
No longer trapped by the shadows of the night,
A spirit, strengthened, conquering fright."

I was looking for a way to be able to display and sell some of my poetry and was struck by inspiration while creating some of my collages. I call these my "Altered Art Poetry" and this particular one features several of my original photographs which were taken in Charleston, SC in June 2007. Photos and poem are printed on acid free paper and each piece has been hand assembled in the style of a collage.

Poem reads,

"Elusive, Ethereal, and Evasive

Their words draw the life force
From the depths of your soul.
Their seduction blinds you
To the destructive lust lurking
Behind the approval in their eyes.
Cold emptiness belies your trust,
Lifts the veil of your suspicion.
Upon your vulnerability they feed.
Satiated, they leave you discarded,
Now ever more a useless shell.
Armed with the ammunition
Of all that you once were,
Into the shadows they slink
Eternally searching for victims."

Vintage Necktie Choker Made From Repurposed Necktie

This blue patterned choker is one of a kind. It was made from a vintage tie that was rescued from a thrift shop.

It measures 4 inches at the widest point and is 13.5 inches long with a 4 inch hand crocheted chain, made from nylon cording, sewn onto the end. At the opposite end is a hand sewn vintage button. The chain is loose enough to allow some versatility with the sizing.

The edge that was cut has been hemmed by hand so the stitches aren't perfect but it definitely has a unique, one-of-a-kind handmade feel.

There are a few very slight snags on the fabric due to the age and the previous life lived by this tie.

Barbie Repurposed Red Boot Earrings

These boots were made for walkin' but that's not what they'll do. One of these days these boots are gonna hang right of off you! They'll hang off of your ears that is, if you're the lucky buyer.

On a thrifting venture, not so long ago, in a land, not so far away, I found a bunch of Barbie shoes, boots, and accessories. These items inspired my line of repurposed Barbie items.

These boots measure about 1 and 3/8 inches tall, are red, and offer a touch of childhood nostalgia, a touch of fashion, and a ton of fun! With the ear wires added, the earrings are just over 2 inches long.

I use silver-plated ear wires to make these earrings.

Colors on monitors vary, so please keep that in mind.

Since these items came from the thrift previously used, they may have some wear and some do show their age a bit in places. In my opinion, the slight aging adds to their charm and uniqueness.

Each of these are made by hand so even two pairs made from the same style of shoes or boots are unique.

These are intended for adults only and are not intended for children.

I'm always looking for new ways to use vintage images and before Christmas, about a year ago now, for a local craft show, started making round earrings from cardstock that were laminated and they were an instant hit. So, as soon as I make more they'll be debuting here but in the meantime I bring you my latest invention, *oops* creation.

This pair features Dorothy and Toto from the Wizard of Oz and measure 2 inches tall by about 3/4 of an inch wide at her skirt hem.

Just watch out for my melting witch earrings! I can hear her screaming now, "I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too!"

It achieved great popularity as an alcoholic drink in late 19th- and early 20th-century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers. Due in part to its association with bohemian culture, absinthe was opposed by social conservatives and prohibitionists. Now you or your children can be nestled snug in your beds with visions of sugarplums dancing in your head and you'll actually know what they look like.

I collect Victorian cookbooks, among other things, and have updated a sugarplum recipe for modern measurements.

Sugarplums are a mix of dried fruits, nuts, and spices with brandy as a preservative. In Victorian times, without refrigeration, brandy not only added seasonal spirit but also aided in the preservation of items.

My recipe features a mix of figs, dates, currants, and raisins, among other things.

Upon payment, the recipe will be emailed to you as an attached Word document. If you can't open Word documents, please let me know when you pay and I'll insert the recipe into the body of your email.

Bettie made her own bikinis, so I'm quite sure she made this one. Facts like this cause me to consider her to be the original DIY goddess.

Bracelet features a vintage image of a woman with a cat and is a pretty pink.

I print vintage images on fabric, treat them to protect them against splashes, and seal the edges with fray block. Then, I stitch a vintage button on by hand and crochet a chain from craft cord and stitch it on by hand as well.

Even though bracelet has been treated, please don't bathe with the bracelet on or otherwise immerse it in water.

Bracelet measures 1 1/2 inches high by 6 1/2 long for the image. The chain adds an additional 1 1/2 inches. I crocheted it loosely so button could be hooked anywhere along it.

Since these are stars, Pop Star seemed like the obvious name for them.

I ensure there are no rough edges, then attach a silver plated ear wire to them.

These are about 2 inches in diameter and are incredibly light weight.

Two vintage buttons, one light brown, the other a darker brown, layered and securely attached to an adjustable ring base to create a OOAK truly unique button ring. The ring base is silver- color.

The bottom button measures about an inch in diameter.

I have many vintage buttons and truly enjoy creating items from them so they may enjoy a new life outside the button jar (or tin).

Most of the buttons in my collection come from the days when things sold in America were still made in America and thrifty women would remove buttons from old clothing and save them in tins or jars. Every once in awhile, I get lucky at a thrift store and come across one of these tins.

These feature a famous Art Nouveau poster, originally printed between 1898 and 1901, for Absinthe Blanqui. The image was heavily influenced by the Victorian's love for Orientalism.

This pair of earrings are part of my new Absinthe Wear line and measure about 1 1/2 inches tall by 1 inch wide at the widest point, not including the ear wire.

Absinthe is commonly referred to in historical literature as "la fée verte" (the Green Fairy) due to its traditional natural green color.

It achieved great popularity as an alcoholic drink in late 19th- and early 20th-century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers. Due in part to its association with bohemian culture, absinthe was opposed by social conservatives and prohibitionists. Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Arthur Rimbaud, Vincent van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, and Aleister Crowley were all notorious bad men of that day who were (or were thought to be) devotees of the Green Fairy. These boots were made for walkin' but that's not what they'll do. One of these days these boots are gonna hang right of off you! They'll hang off of your ears that is, if you're the lucky buyer.

On a thrifting venture, not so long ago, in a land, not so far away, I found a bunch of Barbie shoes, boots, and accessories. These items inspired my line of repurposed Barbie items.

These boots measure about 1 and 3/8 inches tall, are a dark purple, and offer a touch of childhood nostalgia, a touch of fashion, and a ton of fun! With the ear wires added, the earrings are just over 2 inches long.

I use silver-plated ear wires to make these earrings.

Colors on monitors vary, so please keep that in mind.

Since these items came from the thrift previously used, they may have some wear and some do show their age a bit in places. In my opinion, the slight aging adds to their charm and uniqueness.

Each of these are made by hand so even two pairs made from the same style of shoes or boots are unique.

I had a pair of boots kinda like these back in college, too bad they weren't this cool color combo! Yes, I know.......I'm dating myself a bit. The 80's gave us great music by artists like the Cure, the Smiths, and many others.

Dollhouse Miniature Antique Metal Bicycle on Ball Chain Necklace

While purchasing doll eyes one day (for my eyes in the back of your head line of barrettes and hairpins), I discovered several dollhouse miniatures that made great necklace pendants.

This is the first in that series. Also available are a Singer sewing machine and an old school (non digital) camera. More will follow as I find other miniatures to use as necklace pendants.

These lovely little angels have been cut from washed aluminum cans that I rescued from our recycling bin.

The listing is for a set of two angels. They measure 3 inches from head to toe and about 2 1/4 inches at their widest point.

They have no sharp edges and make a lovely Christmas decoration. Just image how nicely they'll reflect the lights on your tree.

They come complete with an ornament hook attached, ready to hang right on your tree.

Since each of these are individually handmade, the actual image placement on the angel you receive may vary slightly from the one pictured.

These angels are also available with or without hole for jump ring, ornament hook, or earring hook and available in a wide variety of brands.

Equally lovely with the silver side out or with the can brand showing.

I cut pieces from aluminum cans, ensure there are no sharp edges, and assemble them to make these lovely little flowers. This one can take on its new life as a brooch/pin, barrette, hairpin, or magnet.

This would also look lovely as an altered art, collage, or mixed media component.

The flower is about 2 inches in diameter.

This particular flower was cut from a Pepsi can.

I used a red rhinestone brad to hold the flower together and to give the pin a bit of sparkle.

As each of my aluminum can flowers are made by hand, each one is unique.

Pendant made from an actual repurposed bottle cap featuring a fun vintage Bettie Page image. The image has been protected by laminating it.

The full quote reads, "I'm sorta the intellectual type y'know.......glasses 'n all." Most of the quote is still visible on the pendant.
