Gloriously Green Gingko - Fine Silver Dog Tag Pendant Necklace

NEW ITEM!!! I am excited to introduce my dog tag line of pendant necklaces. Please check out my other listings for additional designs. :-)

The ginkgo leaf is considered to be a living fossil.For centuries it was thought to be extinct in the wild, but is now known to grow in at least two small areas in the Zhejiang province in Eastern China.

This sweet dog tag style pendant was created from PMC (Precious Metal Clay - .999 fine silver once fired in a kiln). The flower was hand stamped into the metal clay. Once fired, the pendant was tumbled for smoothness, oxidized for depth, and polished for shine.

The pendant hangs 1 1/4inch (3 1/2 cm by 2 cm)from an 18 inch sterling silver bead chain. I will be happy to change this to a 16" or 20" chain, or even a change the chain to a venetian box chain if you prefer - just put a note in sellers box.

The freshwater pearl is a fun extra bit of bling, but can easily slide of the chain for the days you wish to wear the pendant without it.

I admit I have a bit of a thing for the story of Peter Pan. I am currently reading the original by JM Barrie written in the 1800s. I also recently read my son's book "Peter and the Star Catchers" which is sort of prequel to Peter Pan. If you are a bit of a romantic or believe in magic, check it out! :-)

So. . . . the directions to Neverland are the inspiration for these fun fine silver star hoops. I made the hoops by fusing fine silver wire, and the stars are made from pmc (precious metal clay), an environmentally friendly product ---- made from recycled films, it is .999 fine silver once fired in my kiln.

"Ginkgo Leaf"

The ginkgo leaf is considered to be a living fossil.For centuries it was thought to be extinct in the wild, but is now known to grow in at least two small areas in the Zhejiang province in Eastern China.

This leaf is handcrafted from pmc (.999 fine silver, precious metal clay). It was fired in a kiln, tumbled for smoothness, oxidized and hand polished. I cut and drew the design free form, so even if I decide to make another necklace, it will never be exactly the same as this one - making it one of a kind.

The pendant hangs an additional 1 1/2 inches from an 18" sterling silver chain.

This necklace will arrive in a pretty gift box which will be mailed in a bubbled mailer.

The Giving Tree - Fine Silver Necklace

Inspired by both my own love of trees and Shel Silverstein's classic "The Giving Tree", a favorite book of mine from childhood.

This tree is sculpted out of pmc (precious metal clay), an environmentally friendly product made using fine silver particles recycled from old film negatives, combined with organic binders, then fired in my kiln until the binders burn off, leaving .999 pure silver.

The length of the tree pendant is 1 inch x 1 inch (2 1/2 cm x 2 1/2 cm). It hangs from an 18" snake chain. If you prefer a 16" chain just put a note in sellers box.

This design features a heart carved into the tree as the boy who loved the giving tree had done in the book. However, this design is also available as simply a tree (without the heart). Again you can simply put a note in the sellers box upon checkout if you prefer the simple tree design.

Every morning my dog and I take a walk in the woods. Most mornings I have some treasure or another to bring home to turn into clay. The ginkgo leaf is considered to be a living fossil.For centuries it was thought to be extinct in the wild, but is now known to grow in at least two small areas in the Zhejiang province in Eastern China.

These sweet little gingko leaf earrings are hand stamped into pmc (precious metal clay .999 fine silver). They are fired in a kiln, polished for smoothness, oxidized to create depth and texture, and then hand polished for shine. Two pretty peridot stones hang above the leaves.

They are 15mm/just over 1/2" in width and 17mm/just under 3/4" in length. The earrings hang just over 1 inch.

Every morning my chocolate lab and I walk in the woods near our home. We often pass by a pond that is home to a variety of birds. Many mornings we see a great blue heron who I have dubbed "Henry" aka "the patient fisherman". Such a handsome bird!

I made the necklace using PMC (Precious Metal Clay .999 Fine Silver)an environmentally friendly product made using fine silver particles recycled from old film negatives, combined with organic binders, then fired in my kiln until the binders burn off, leaving .999 pure silver.. Once fired, the pendant was tumbled for smoothness, oxidized for depth, and polished for shine.
