Mardi Gras Beaded Necklace

The beads used in this piece remind me of the traditional colors of Mardi Gras, purple (symbolic of justice), green (symbolic of faith) and gold (symbolic of power).

The pendant itself is 1 1/2" accross and 1 3/4" long including the beaded bail.

The adjustable necklace measuring 17 to 18", consists of three strands of strung black size 11 seed beads. Tiny clusters of Swarovski crystals accent each end of the necklace, attached to a lobster claw clasp.

This necklace was inspired by the moth like bug in the movie "Silence of the Lambs", the Death's-head Hawkmoth whose name refers to the vaguely skull-shaped pattern of markings on the thorax.

This necklace is adjustable, and measures 21, to 22 1/2" long. It consists of 2 strands of size 11 black seed beads, and round Amethyst stones.

The moth measures 2 1/2" long by 1 7/16" wide, and is connected to the necklace with split silver jumprings. I used frosted amethyst AB size 11 seed beads for the wings, and Delica beads for the tiny skull, which has memory wire antanae.

The wing design was found in the book "The Beaded Garden" by Diane Fitzgerald. I do have permission to use the pattern found in this book.

The cool blues of ocean water, the sparkle and shimmer of a warm tidepool, sitting among the rocks of the beach. Each with it's own little world living inside.

Measures approximately 7 3/8" long x 7/8" wide

I used a mix of blue and green size 8 seed beads, in a right angle net stitch. Weaved in, are some glass pearls, 4mm AB clear Swarovski crystals, and clear AB size 11 seed beads. The clasp is a button with a fantastic wave like pattern that fits right in with my ocean theme.

Turquoise beaded Pendant measures 4 3/4" from feather tip, to top of pendant, 1 1/2" accross.

The round turquoise stone was attached to a circle of black suede, then beaded using sky blue, turquoise, white, and opaque rainbow blue seed beads. Fringe of 4mm faceted cloudy Swarovski crystals, sterling silver spacers, and three pewter feathers dangle from the bottom. A Sterling Silver toggle clasp is attached to the spiral rope.

I made this piece for a challenge I had participated in where the theme was "Wedding". I wanted to use a color other than white for the bride, and this is what I came up with.

measuring approximately 20" long
Flower measures 3 2/8" x 3 2/8"

The flower, is made of 3 separate 4 petal flowers, using size 11 seed beads, layered upon each other with a gorgeous pink-purple bezeled rivoli as the center. The necklace is a beaded St Petersburg chain attached to a spiral pewter toggle clasp.

Autumn in New England

The warm rich colors, at the peak of the fall foliage season in New England became my inspiration for this piece.

18" long
Pendant is 1 3/4" wide by 2 1/2" including beaded bail.

I added beads along the leafy veins of the orange shell pendant. The rope was made with frosted AB amethyst, frosted AB amber, and root beer AB brown size 11 seed beads using a spiral stitch. 5mm honey colored, round faceted beads attach the golden toggle clasp.

Dark lavish blooms highlighted by moonlight, flourishing in a deep green forest became my inspiration for this piece.

19 1/4" Beaded rope.
Flowers measure 3 5/8" wide x 3 3/8" long.

Each 10 petal flower, was made one petal at a time using black, and rainbow purple size 11 seed beads. Each flower has a purple Swarovski crystal center.

Attached to each flower, are luscious green leaves, made using the same petal style. The spiral rope is made with frosted AB Jade green, and frosted Peacock green size 11 seed beads.

A twisted sterling silver toggle clasp is attached with black cat's eye beads.

The petal design was found in "The Beaded Garden" by Diane Fitzgerald, I do have permission to use this design.
