This should make bedtime a little more fun! Time to go to bed on this handmade pillow case. It’s made from a top quality, pre-washed quilting fabric that is 100% cotton.
The main fabric is a gold print and it is trimed with an animal print that makes me think of animal crackers and a small band of striped fabric.
All edges are finished with a serger.
It measures 31” by 20”
Machine wash warm and tumble dry medium.

I needed a bag- big enough to hold my phone, lip gloss, altoids, and money- what to do; the other bags were too small to close with my phone inside.
I decided to make one big enough to hold all of that + plus more.

And I wanted a fabric that was elegant and not flashy…that would coordinate with lots of outfits- dresses- long and short or dressy pants. This wristlet is made from a Thai Silk skirt- too pretty to let go- but it didn’t fit anyone….and I was able to make one bag to keep and two to list here! A new purpose for a silk skirt.

The beautiful green silk is lined with a matching green lining- that also came from the skirt. It measures about 8 ½ inches by 6 inches. The longer loop passes thru the shorter loop to close the bag and act as the handle. This bag is embellished with silk poppies.

*I wore mine the other night and was able to pass thru the cocktail line like a pro.*

Handmade Christmas Stocking-- It's the Best time of the Year

A stocking made from a vintage tablecloth.
This is one of a series- sold separately- from the same tablecloth.
The front and back are the same so they can be hung on either side.

The size is 18 inches tall from the heel to the top of the cuff and 8 inches wide with a shoe size of 12 inches. A fabric tab to hang the stocking is 2 ½ inch long.
A good size stocking!
All of the stockings I make are from the same pattern, which I created. That way they will be the same size; good if you buy more than one to hang together.
This stocking was sewn from an embroidered, vintage tablecloth. The top is trimmed with a vintage fabric cuff and some nice bubblegum pink old buttons, on both sides of the stocking. The stocking is lined with a blue cotton fabric.

This is one of my new projects made from reclaimed fabric.
Re-use, recycle, repurpose and reclaim!

This is a fun quilt for anyone who LOVES dogs!

The size of the quilt is- 35” x 45”

This quilt pattern is a variation of a pattern called attic windows and 'Stack and Whack'.
Stack-n-Whack is an unique way to create quilt blocks with kaleidoscope designs. These designs require a set of identical pieces cut from a print fabric. They create the kaleidoscope effect when they are sewn together.

After I made the blocks, I set them into the ‘windows’ and added the pieced border.

This is a great set of vintage pot holders!

The colors are so retro! Turquoise and yellow and orange!

They look like Boy and Girl pants. The 'girl' has an apron with a little pocket sewn on the front. The 'boy' potholder looks like a little pair of pants.

This is a pattern, some printed fabric and a printed fabric panel --- all Loons!

The pattern is from C.A.P. Quilt Designs from 1984.
It is the photo, a pattern sheet, a piece of screen- printed fabric and instructions.

The fabric panel is a V.I.P Cranston Print works Loon.

(There are two loons on the panel, a large and small, but there is a flaw the runs through the small loon’s body. So really only the large loon is sew-able.)

It’s a great pattern from Vivian Ritter. Dated 1980.

Here is a lemon on a leaf pincushion. What a great place to stick your pins and needles!

Did you ever go in an antique shop and see the lonely, misfit items that are missing a lid, or something else to make it less valuable?

Well, this little gem was missing its top and it’s too cute so see it go to waste.
With a fabric and stuffing insert- it’s repurposed as a very handy pincushion.
And some little yellow seed beads to jazz it up.

The leaf measures a little over 5” from stem to tip and the lemon is almost 2 ½ “across.
It stands about 2 ½” tall.
It will make any sewing area more cheerful because lemons are sunny yellow!

Cowboys and Blue Jeans Denim Quilt

This is a fun quilt that made from denim and red cotton fabric.

The denim is reclaimed from blue jeans and sewn in squares backed with new red western print fabric.
The fabric brings to mind red bandanas, horses and cowboys.
There is no batting- the quilt is heavy enough without it!
The style it’s made in has exposed seams that are clipped to fringe- more and more- as it’s washed.
This quilt was only washed once to start the fringe process.

The size is 33 inches by 39 inches- a nice size to use as a lap quilt or a play mat or on a stadium seat- so many ways to enjoy this sturdy throw.

The edges are finished with a red complimentary cotton fabric binding. The binding is sewn on with a zig-zag stitching and finishes the edges nicely.

This long and skinny scarf is made from a vintage linen towel and cotton ombre fabric, with a yarn dyed stripe on the back and some additional cotton prints mixed in for interest.

The ombre is fabric is in earthy russet tones that are gradated or gradually-shaded from brown to ginger.

Perfect to wear so many different ways…

I suggest hand wash, cold and line dry this scarf- press with an iron, if needed.

The traditional pattern is stitched in great vintage-feel fabrics.
It’s a classic 4 patch with a split square- a simple design that shows the fabrics well.
These are new fabrics with the feel of yesterday.

The ‘focus’ fabric is a beautiful old fashioned periwinkle blue with pink flowers- the pinks really pop because of the contrast with the blue.

They are all 100% cotton fabrics.

The back is an adorable pink, overall pattern with animals framed in bees and buttons.

The quilt is machine pieced and machine quilted- “stitched in the ditch”- in a grid pattern for durability.

The size is perfect for a baby quilt, a toddler quilt, a lap quilt.... a great gift to be cherished.

This big slouchy tote is made from vintage fabric.

The fabric is a wonderful decorator weight cotton- a breathtaking floral pattern with the subdued colors of the past.

The size is a generous 16” wide by 17” tall with a wide strap that has 14” drop.

It is lined in a neutral stripe that I believe is a linen/silk blend- since both are ‘found’ fabrics, I don’t know the exact fiber content.
