Cute little otter feet and sleek weasels, and other medium sized mammals adorn the covers of this notebook. The images come from a Field Guide to Mammals of North America published in the 1970s. I backed the pages with sturdy matboard to make the covers of the notebook. Then I sandwiched 80 sheets of upcycled papers between the covers and perfect bound the lot into a nice little book. Then I finished by covering the spine with a pretty pink clothtape. The notebook measures 4.25" by 5.5", which is a pretty perfect size for tossing in your bag to take with you on all your adventures. It's perfect for back to school and all your other autumnal activites.

I made this notebook out of a page from a Rand McNally world atlas from 1942. The covers feature Northern Mexico, including the states of Baja California, Chihuahua, Sonora and Durango. There is also a large inset of Mexico D.F. In between the covers are 80 sheets of upcycled papers of various types including lined and graph. The notebook measures 4.25" by 5.5" and it was lovingly perfect bound by me, right here in my apartment. This is a really cool find for map lovers!

Sea ducks fly across the blue covers of this notebook. The images come from the 1961 edition of A Field Guide to Western Birds.
To make this notebook I cut two pieces of matboard and covered them in the pages of illustrations. In between the covers I sandwiched 80 sheets of fun upcycled papers. I then perfect bound everything together to make it super sturdy! For the final touch I covered the spine with a pink cloth tape. This book is perfect to take along on your next birdwatching expedition! Of course, at 4.25" by 5.5", it's also perfect for tossing into your purse or backpack or even your pocket to take with you on all your autumnal adventures.

This notebook is super sturdy and made from repurposed and recycled materials.

This notebook reminds me of Anne of Green Gables, I believe there's a passage where they discuss a copse of violets and how romantic it sounds. The irises and violets in lovely purple colors take me away to some lovely meadow. The images on the covers come from the 1968 edition of A Field Guide to Wildflowers of Northeastern and North-central North America.
To make this notebook I cut two pieces of matboard to 5.5" by 4.25" Then I pasted over these with pages from the Field Guide to make the covers. Between the covers I sandwiched 80 sheets of repurposed papers in smooth bright yellows and nubby tans then perfect bound everything together. I finished by covering the spine with a chartreuse cloth tape that brings out the grassy greens in the flowers. This book is super sturdy and the perfect size to take with you on all your adventures. Slip the tiny tome into any bag or pocket and get on the road. And you'll feel good when you use it because it's made with materials that were rescued from certain trash-hood.

I made this creepy cool notebook with images from A Field Guide To Insects of North America and Mexico, published in 1970. It is covered front and back with flies, some with fun names like Apple Maggot and Flesh Fly.
To make the book I cut two pieces of sturdy matboard to 4.25" by 5.5". Then I pasted those over with images from the field guide to make the covers of the book. Between the covers I sandwiched 80 sheets of upcycled papers, some lined, some letterhead, some in lovely pastel colors. Then I perfect bound everything together and finished by covering the spine with a chartreuse cloth tape for extra security. The end product is a notebook made to last that is the perfect size for carrying in a purse, bookbag, or even in your pocket! Take it along on all your adventures!

This notebook is covered with lovely golden-toned warblers of myriad varieties. You will love the clean lines of the drawings, which come from the 1961 edition of A Field Guide to Western Birds, as well as the juxtaposition of the yellows with the pink binding.
To make this book I started by cutting two pieces of sturdy matboard to 5.5" by 4.25" Then I pasted over that matboard with the pages from the Field Guide to make the covers. I sandwiched 80 sheets of repurposed paper in several varieties between the covers and perfect bound everything together. To finish I covered the spine with the pretty pink cloth tape. This notebook is built to last and will easily go with you wherever you go. Throw it in your purse, your backpack, even your pocket! And it will make you feel good when you use it because all of the materials have been rescued from a future in the dump.

I made this notebook because I wanted to bring you some animals with the cutest names ever, like the dusky footed woodrat and the bushytail woodrat and the Mexican pocket mouse and the woodland jumping mouse, and, of course, the gophers with the craziest teeth y'all. I found them all in the third edition of A Field Guide to the Mammals of North America, which is inclusive of mammals of North America found north of Mexico. It was published in 1976.
To make the notebook I covered two pieces of sturdy matboard, cut to 4.25" by 5.5", with the pages I had chosen from the field guide. Then I sandwiched 80 sheets of upcycled paper in various colors between those covers and perfect bound them into a book. To finish, I covered the spine with a pretty chartreuse cloth tape. This book is the perfect size to toss in your bag to take with you on all your adventures, and will definitely help you make new friends on the first day of school!

Bushtits and titmice. Yes, their names are pretty naughty sounding, but they are not as flashy as their names might suggest. They come in lovely though rather dull shades of brown and dove gray. I guess titmice are slightly more subversive, what with their tiny mohawks. The illustrations I chose for the covers of this notebook come from the 1966 book A Guide to Field Identification of Birds of North America. I took pages from the book and used them to cover two pieces of matboard cut to 4.25" by 5.5" Matboard makes great covers for these notebooks because it is sturdy but still super light. I sandwiched 80 sheets of upcycled and recycled papers between the covers and perfect bound everything together. The final touch was to cover the spine with a bright red booktape for extra security. This notebook is the perfect size for taking on the go, it will fit effortlessly into a purse or bookbag; you'll hardly notice it's there, but it'll be there when you need it!

Lovely doves, practically the same as pigeons, but much more well regarded. Poor pigeons. They are much nicer in illustration form though, as on the cover of this notebook. Cuckoos are lovely too, though a bit meaner looking than doves. I think it's the sharp beaks.
The images on the covers of this notebook come from the 1966 edition of A Guide To Field Identification: Birds of North America. I used sturdy matboard to make the covers, and in between the two are 80 sheets of upcycled papers, which I have perfect bound into a sturdy little book. I finished it by covering the spine with a blood red cloth tape. This notebook measures 4.25" by 5.5", which is just about the perfect size for tossing in your purse or bookbag, or even your pocket to take with you on all your adventures! To make this notebook I cut two pieces of matboard to 4.25" by 5.5". Then I pasted over those pieces with the pages from the Nature Guide to make the book covers. Between the covers I sandwiched 80 sheets of repurposed paper of various types including ultrabrite pink, lined penmanship paper and old letterhead. I then perfect bound everything into a sturdy block and finished by covering the spine with a dark espresso brown cloth tape.
This book is the perfect size to take with you on the go; slip it in your purse, your backpack, or even your pocket. It's just right for jotting down those things you don't want to forget, and it's made with repurposed materials, so you can feel good about that.

Pretty Pink Flowers - Nature Guide Notebook

The flowers on the covers of this notebook are in several shades of pink and red and have wonderfully fanciful names, like Red Turtlehead, False Dragonhead, Dense Blazing-Star and Showy Tick-Trefoil. How can you resist? The images come from the 1968 edition of A Field Guide to Wildflowers of Northeastern and North-central North America.

Slip it into a bag, purse or pocket, it's just right for those times that you need to jot something down. Another point to mention is that the materials I've used are rescued from a future in the trash can, so that should make you feel pretty good.

I made this notebook out of this great Percy Faith album I found; it was covered in these photos in these little flower shapes of this woman making the funniest faces. She is very lovely though, but maybe not cut out to be a model. Anyway, now you can enjoy her all the time with this handy little notebook! It measures about 4.25" by 5.5" and is filled with 80 sheets of assorted repurposed papers. It was lovingly perfect bound by me and finished off with a lovely chartreuse booktape to make a very sturdy little notebook for you to take with you wherever you may go. It's the perfect size to slip into your purse, pocket or backpack. Perfect!
There's a little surprise peek of some pretty birdies on the inside cover as well!

I love the great bold colors of this notebook. It is made from the cover of a record called The Red Back Book, which is a ballet of Scott Joplin compositions.
