A fine cable chain is strung with five mobius links made of square wire rings. These links are made up of either 2 or 3 rings woven through the centers of one another and resemble endless spirals.

~ The spiral is about 1/2-inch in diameter (13mm).
~ The spiral is 3/4-inch wide on the chain (20mm).
~ The chain is 18 inches long.

The Square Spiral Necklace is made entirely of sterling silver.

~ You can substitute a 16" or 20" chain if you prefer.

First there was the Square Jens Pind Bracelet; taken with the look, Crescent Maille has created a matching necklace featuring the same Jens Pind weave constructed from square wire rings. The facets of the rings catch the light, angular and sparkling; it's modern and industrial, yet subtle and minimalist.

A 3-inch segment of the weave is suspended from cable chain. The square rings are 18 gauge, and the segment is 1/4-inch wide (5mm). The cable chain is made of 2.5mm round links, and the necklace is a total of 16 inches long. Made entirely from sterling silver.

Small mobius flowers—each made of five interwoven sterling silver rings, resembling an endless spiral (hence the name)—hang from Bali silver earwires.

The "flower" is just under 3/8-inch in diameter (10mm); the length of the earring from the top of the wire is one inch. The earwires are small and secure.

The Barrel Weave is unique and subtle — one wouldn't even know it's chain maille. The weave features pairs of rings held in place by clever design. It's very light on the wrist, quite minimalist, and beautifully quiet.

The rings used are 18 gauge and about 5mm in diameter; the bracelet is 1/4-inch wide (8mm). The small ring size makes this a refined, delicate piece.

The bracelet closes with a sterling silver magnetic "capsule" clasp that complements the design. If you prefer, you can substitute a sterling lobster clasp. (The magnetic clasp is good if you plan to put it on for an occasion, and then take it off afterward. The lobster clasp is better if you plan to wear it overnight, or for several days in a row without taking it off.)

Crescent Maille's original lace designs are based on the Japanese style of chain maille weave. Octopus Lace began as a bracelet, so named from the illusion of an octopus arm winding its way around the chain.

Octopus Lace features three sizes of rings in an intricately engineered weave — just the right appearance balanced with the perfect degree of flexibility. Almost all rings are doubled, for depth and strength. The lace is 1/2-inch wide (12mm) from the top of one curve to the bottom of the next.

The necklace features a three-inch segment of Octopus Lace suspended at both ends from a medium-gauge cable chain. It is 16 inches in length (but can be made longer at your request). Note: as of September '09, the chain used for the necklace is the one shown in photo 4.

The Octopus Lace necklace is made entirely from sterling silver.

These small, delicate earrings — each one segment of the chain maille "barrel weave" — are made of sterling silver rings hanging from Bali silver earwires.

The "clover" segment (doesn't it resemble a four leaf clover?) is 1/2-inch long and 1/4-inch wide (12mm, 7mm). The length of the earring from the top of the wire is 7/8-inch (22mm). The earwires are small and secure.

Crescent Maille's original lace designs are based on the Japanese style of chain maille weave. Academy Lace features three sizes of rings in a delicate, symmetrical, subtle design.

This set includes the Academy Lace Bracelet and Earrings, sold together at a price less than if purchased separately.

Bracelet:
The bracelet is a bit under 1/2-inch wide (11mm). The largest rings are 6mm in diameter, and the smallest rings are 3mm. It is made entirely from sterling silver rings and findings. The clasp in the photos is an unembellished toggle that complements the design of the bracelet; however, if you prefer, a lobster or S-clasp can be substituted.

A delicate 6 ring mobius flower is suspended from a fine pelline chain (a.k.a. a ball or bead chain, approximately 1mm wide). A mobius flower is made up of rings woven through the centers of each other; it resembles a seemingly endless spiral.

The rings of the flower are 10mm in diameter; the flower itself is a little wider, about 1/2-inch wide (13mm). The chain is 18 inches long, but you can substitute 16 or 20 inches if you prefer. You can also substitute a cable chain.

The rings and chain are all sterling silver.

An 18-inch cable chain (with large 3.5mm round links) meets at the center, linked to a small 3-ring mobius flower (just over 1/4-inch in diameter [10mm]). Dangling from that mobius, by a 1-inch segment of chain, is a large 5-ring mobius, about 5/8-inch in diameter (17mm) — about the size of a penny.

The necklace can be worn shorter — just hook the clasp to a different link (though this means that the clasp won't sit exactly at the center of the back of your neck). If you want it made in a shorter length, please let me know upon checkout.

Inspired by E. B. White's book — Nellie, Arania, and Joy, along with two siblings, hang on their small webs from Charlotte.

A mobius flower (or knot) is made up of rings woven through the centers of one another; it resembles an endless spiral.

The Spiderling Necklace is based on Crescent Maille's Square Mobius Necklace: a 3-ring mobius made of 14 gauge square wire is suspended at two points from 3mm-round-link cable chain. The mobius is about 1/2-inch wide.

Hanging from the mobius, from segments of cable chain of varying lengths (3/4-inch to 1-3/4 inches), are five little "spiderings"— each a 3-ring square wire mobius. This part of the necklace hangs just under two inches long. The necklace proper (chain + large mobius) is about 18-1/2 inches long.

Rings made from 16 gauge sterling silver square wire are fashioned into knots by weaving two together through their centers. 17 of these knots are then strung on a 16-inch sterling cable chain to make a very industrial looking yet delicate necklace (you can substitute an 18- or 20-inch chain if you prefer).

The rings used to make the knots are 1/4-inch in diameter, and the group of knots is 1-1/2 inches wide on the chain.

This wonderful necklace is a dodecahedron (a figure with 12 sides) made from over 100 tiny sterling silver rings. It's formed from the 10-in-3 variant of the Japanese chain maille weave. This small, it's really just a sphere.

The sphere is just over 1/2-inch in diameter. The rings are 5mm in diameter. It's strung from a very fine 18-inch sterling silver ball chain (a.k.a. pelline chain; it's 1mm in diameter).

In the finished Jens Pind bracelet, lines of rings running down the length of the piece lie just barely atop one another, fixed into place perfectly. Rings of the exact size and proportion must be selected to lock the pattern into place but at the same time allow the chain to be flexible and fluid.

Crescent Maille's original lace designs are based on the Japanese style of chain maille weave. Academy Lace features three sizes of rings in a delicate, symmetrical, subtle design.

The rings range from 3 to 6mm in diameter. The lace is just under 7/8-inch long (2 cm); the length of the earring from the top of the earwire is just a bit longer than 1-1/2 inches. The earrings are made entirely of sterling silver, and the small, secure earwires are Bali sterling.

Crescent Maille's Bestseller ~

A 7 ring mobius flower suspended from a fine pelline chain (a.k.a. a ball or bead chain, approximately 1mm wide). A mobius flower is made up of rings woven through the centers of each other; it resembles a seemingly endless spiral.

The rings used are just over 1/2-inch in diameter (15mm); the mobius itself is a little wider, about 5/8-inch (17mm) (about the diameter of a penny). The chain is 18 inches long, but you can substitute 16 or 20 inches if you prefer. You can also substitute a cable chain.

The rings and chain are all sterling silver.

Crescent Maille's original lace designs are based on the Japanese style of chain maille weave. Wave Lace is based on the Octopus Lace design, but with three graduated sizes of rings flowing along the edge to create the illusion of waves.

Wave Lace is crafted from a total of five sizes of rings in an intricately engineered weave — just the right appearance balanced with the perfect degree of flexibility. The largest rings are 7mm in diameter, and the smallest rings are 3mm. Almost all rings are doubled for depth and strength.

The Wave Lace earrings are 1-1/4 inches (3 cm) long; the length of the earring from the top of the earwire is 1-3/8 inches (4 cm). The earwires are small & secure.

In the finished Jens Pind necklace, lines of rings running down the length of the piece lie just barely atop one another, fixed into place perfectly. Rings of the exact size and proportion must be selected to lock the pattern into place but at the same time allow the chain to be flexible and fluid.

The rings used in this necklace are very small — 4mm in diameter — and the necklace is 1/8-inch wide (4mm). It is made from sterling silver rings and closes with a small sterling silver lobster clasp.

The rings used are so small that this width weave, also sold as a bracelet, makes a beautiful chain necklace. It is lovely and subtle, and can easily be worn every day.

Lace Squared is a square design — squares created with circles, with every other vertical ring doubled to create a dynamic element. In the finished Jens Pind bracelet, lines of rings running down the length of the piece lie just barely atop one another, fixed into place perfectly. Rings of the exact size and proportion must be selected to lock the pattern into place but at the same time allow the chain to be flexible and fluid.

This necklace is in the Byzantine — or Birdcage — weave. The Byzantine weave is classic, and possibly the most recognizable chain maille weave. In this piece, very small rings are used to achieve a delicate yet substantial necklace.

The rings used in this necklace are very small — 4mm in diameter — and the necklace is 1/8-inch wide (4mm). It is made from sterling silver rings and closes with a small sterling silver lobster clasp.

The rings used are so small that this width weave, also sold as a bracelet, makes a beautiful chain necklace. It is lovely, complex yet subtle, and can easily be worn every day.

The Dark Spiral Necklace: an oxidized heavy gauge 3-ring mobius spiral is suspended at two points from a 3mm-round cable link chain. A mobius is made up of rings woven through the centers of one another, forming a seemingly endless spiral.

The rings used for the spiral are 1/2-inch in diameter (13mm); the spiral itself is a little wider, about 5/8-inch (15.5mm). The necklace is about 18.5 inches in length.

The rings and chain are all sterling silver. The spiral is oxidized to a rich black / gray, contrasting with the shiny chain.

In the Byzantine Rose (or Byzantine and Flower) Weave, segments of Byzantine weave link together roses (a.k.a. mobius flowers) made of three interwoven rings. It's a classic and delicate weave, perfect for both a traditional outfit, or a contemporary one.

Necklace:

Choose either the Mobius-7 or the Mobius Charm necklace. Both feature the "rose" element to match the bracelet; the Mobius Charm necklace is the smaller of the two. Both are made entirely from sterling silver. For both the pelline chain is 18 inches long, but you can substitute 16 or 20 inches if you prefer. You can also substitute a cable chain.

Mobius-7 ~ A 7-ring mobius flower suspended from a fine pelline chain (a.k.a. a ball or bead chain, approximately 1mm wide). The flower is about 5/8-inch wide (17mm) (about the diameter of a penny).

Mobius Charm ~ A delicate 6-ring mobius flower suspended from a fine pelline chain (a.k.a. a ball or bead chain, approximately 1mm wide). The flower is about 1/2-inch wide (13mm).

A sterling silver pelline chain (a.k.a. a ball or bead chain, approximately 1mm wide) is strung with seven sterling silver mobius flowers — 4 small and 3 large. These mobius flowers are made up of 3 rings woven through the centers of one another to resemble an endless spiral.

Crescent Maille's original lace designs are based on the Japanese style of chain maille weave. Wave Lace is based on the Octopus Lace design, but with three graduated sizes of rings flowing along the edge to create the illusion of waves.

Wave Lace is crafted from a total of five sizes of rings in an intricately engineered weave — just the right appearance balanced with the perfect degree of flexibility. The largest rings are 7mm in diameter, and the smallest rings are 3mm. Almost all rings are doubled for depth and strength.

This set includes the Wave Lace Bracelet and Earrings, sold together at a lower price than if purchased separately.

Earrings:
The Wave Lace earrings are 1-1/4 inches (3 cm) long; the length of the earring from the top of the earwire is 1-3/8 inches (4 cm). The earwires are small & secure. Made from sterling silver rings with Bali sterling ear wires.

A mobius flower (or knot) is made up of rings woven through the centers of one another; it resembles an endless spiral.

The Square Mobius is created from three rings made of 14 gauge square wire. The rings used are just under 1/2-inch in diameter (15mm), making the mobius itself 1/2-inch wide.

Crescent Maille's original lace designs are based on the Japanese style of chain maille weave. Octopus Lace is so named due to the illusion of an octopus arm winding its way around the chain.

Octopus Lace features three sizes of rings in an intricately engineered weave — just the right appearance balanced with the perfect degree of flexibility.
