Stitch Marker Storage or Jewelry Box

This could work great as a large stitch marker storage box or a unisex jewelry box.
The three piece box is 12" long, 3" wide, and 2 3/4" tall. It is made from cedar scraps that have been glued together in such a way that they form a sunrise.The lid lifts off and the first storage unit has three sections. The two rectangular sections are 4" x 2". 7/8" deep. The center hole is 1 3/4" in diameter. 5/8 " deep.
The top section lifts off to reveal the bottom section that has six storage holes. The two outer large ones are 2 1/8" in diameter. 3/4" deep. The next two large ones are 2" round. 3/4" deep. The two small holes are 1 1/8" around and 5/8" deep. The bottom of the storage areas are lined with felt that can be removed for easy cleaning. The box is made from aromatic cedar/walnut dowel and has a hand rubbed linseed oil finish.
Great gift for the collector of small things at your house.

This one is hand made by me, from 3/4" solid walnut and 1" cherry dowel. The opposite of the other combo noddy I have listed. I've threaded the ends so it screws together making it collapsible - you can take it with you, or store it easily. Finished off with linseed oil.

This itty bitty niddy noddy is a 1 yarder. That means that for each revolution you make with your yarn, you will have measured off 1 yard.

I came across a piece of light colored walnut dowel so the ends of this one are slightly different in color than the shaft. Finished off with linseed oil.

Solid Cherry Niddy Noddy Two Yarder

A niddy what? A Niddy Noddy. These have been around since ancient times, in one form or another. They are used by spinners to simultaneously measure yardage and make a skein.

This one is hand made by me, from 3/4" and 1" solid Cherry dowel. I've threaded the ends so it screws together making it collapsible - you can take it with you, or store it easily. Finished off with linseed oil.

This niddy noddy is a 2 yarder. That means that for each revolution you make with your yarn, you will have measured off 2 yards.

Made by hand in a beautiful Maple, there are two holes, 1/2 inch and 1 inch. The diz is 2.25 inches in diameter.

Here's the ultimate knitters tool box. This one of a kind solid ash box is ideal for the knitter in your family. Not only does it have three spots to store those stitch markers(and other tiny tools) but also comes with a matching ash wraps per inch gauge and a place to store that as well.

The box measures about 6 3/8" long, 2 3/4" wide, and is
1 1/2" tall. The slot for the wpi gauge is 3 1/4" long, 3/8" wide and 1 1/8" deep. Just the right size for the gauge. The one storage compartment is 1 3/4" in diameter and 1" deep. The other two are 1 3/8" in diameter and 1" deep. The lid simply lifts off and is held in place with 1/4" walnut dowel. Both the box and the gauge have a hand rubbed linseed oil finish.

The wpi gauge comes with our handy little chart to determine the weight/style of yarns.
