Trees, for me, are tempted have the human personality in them. Some trees are like persons standing or acting or express their feeling. They do that in this piece as well. One protects another, giving the sense of sensitivity, guardian and shelter.

It is appliqué, embroidered, glue and stitches with cotton yarns on the beige hand woven cotton fabric. I use warm color palettes to represent the warmth of the mother and child. It is framed in the 13/18” wide wooden frame. Also, it is 1.5” in dept. You can either hang it on the wall or put it on the table. It can be stand on its own.

Inspired by an aerial view of a green paddy field. Everything on the ground looks so tiny when seeing from above. Lines of the earthen dyke around the rice field separate colors, rooms and surfaces which amazingly give nice pattern and depth. Farmers and their truly nice friends, water buffaloes, are working together in the field. Rice color has been changed from light green to various shade of green and finally turn to gold when it is ready to harvest. Lives there seem to be slow, simple and peaceful.
