A friend commented this must be the stuff clouds are made from. The colored fringe is a colorway I made inspired on three pots of spices next to each other. It is such a light scarf even in summer you can use it as a decorational shawl in stead of jewelry.

It measures 25 cm (9.8") wide and 150 cm (59.1") long

What is left is a core of molten metal frozen solid in the vacuum of space. The metal has formed a lattice of cristals shimmering in the remaining light of far away stars...

Double thickness to protect from the coldest of weather, wide enough to wrap around all of you and long enough to keep even your tushy warm :-D

Softest of soft merino wool with an overlay of silk tufts.

160 cm / 63 " wide
100cm / 39.4 " long

Made especially for the weekly EST challenge as hosted by http://www.gr8jewellery.etsy.com with this week as theme "the end of the world"

All other entries can be found on her blog

Earth and fringes felted scarf

$110.00
This scarf was inspired by the Maori cloaks of olden time. It is felted from the softest merino available and is more solid than most of my other scarves as I wanted it to be as cloak like as possible. The wool was dyed by me as well in dark brown, green and blue. The cloak itself has dark brown in stead of blue like in the fringes.

60 cm (19.7") X 150 cm (59.1")

In the last picture you see the dyed wool and the felted thread in preparation of becoming a scarf. The wool is so called tops and from that tufts of wool are pulled and laid out overlapping. Then wetted down and agitated to form a dense non woven fabric.

The blackness of the void onto which the strands of thought have collected to form the stories we tell. Wear it and tell the stories, the ones that make you think, not the ones that pretend to be the answers. Think....

Warmer, twice as much wool as the very thin ones I normally collect, made to comfort in the most dire of circumstances. Big enough to completely envelop your upper part.

Thaken from the real of myth especially for the EST challenge of this week as hosted by me with the theme "mythology

Find all the other entries here http://www.ingermaaike.nl/index.php?/archives/386-Mythology.html

Some prior experience with felting would be handy but with nimble hands even the inexperienced can make these.

The tutorial will be sent to your paypal email address within 48 hours of receiving payment.

There is nothing quite so soft I can compare it to, but one thing is certain. Even the most sensitive skin will love this.

Together with the merino I felted variegated green silk fiber so this scarf resembles beautiful marble. But this marble will keep you lovely and warm.

70 cm wide x 140 cm long ( 27.6"x55.1")

Nuno felting is incorporating wool fibers into a fabric. By friction the wool migrates through the fabric and as the wool shrinks the fabric goes all crumply creating a beautiful effect. The fabric in this case is bright red and the wool a combination of yellow and red so you get a flamed effect. After incorporating the wool into the fabric I cut it up and designed it into a form fitted jacket with long transparent poufy sleeves and a pointy hoody.

Fits sizes EU 38 , US medium 8, UK 10

After felting the whole was cut into a big spiral and sewn back together to create either a vortex or tornado. For those biblically inclined it does remind me somewhat of the tower of babel as well.

The base has a dimaeter of 35 cm (13.8") and it is a total of 30 cm (11.8") high.

Every single one of the six flowers lovingly handmade. Not one single stitch used, all done by felting loose wool fibers into pretty flowers on a green stem so you can hang it anywhere.

One of the greatest advantages over a garland made of wool over one made of plant fiber is that it hardly reacts with the elements. No mold, no algae. You can leave it hanging outside and it will continue to look pretty.

Each flower measures 7 cm (2.8")across with a total of six flowers onto a thread of 135 cm (53.1")

It teaches you the techniques and skills needed to make resist formed hollow 3 dimensional felted objects.

To demonstrate the principle I have made the tutorial in the shape of a doggie, but the method used can be adapted to any shape.

I highly recommend using a little handheld sander for making complex shapes, but all the techniques shown can be done the traditional way with rubbing and rolling the wool as well.

The pdf file will be sent to your mail address associated with your PayPal acount. Would you want to have me send it to an other address please state so in your message to buyer.

Then rinse well in cool water , roll in a towel to remove excess water and hang to dry.

Wool is very naturally dirt resistant make sure your woolen item really needs to be washed. Unlike cotton and man-made materials, wool does not need to be washed frequently - even wool socks can be worn many times between washing if allowed to air out between wearings. Don't assume your wool sweater needs to be washed just because you are used to washing things after wearing them once! Get used to gently spot-cleaning and airing woolens and you will be amazed at how well they last with very little care, and very infrequent washing.

$250.00
I was asked by Frances Melhop from http://www.matchstickgirl.etsy.com and http://www.enchantedpond.etsy.com to make a teepee sized wrap in black. Never before had I attempted to make something so big. I tried and came up with these huge scarves that are a combination of optim and 16 micron merino. This makes them super soft yet lightweight. Each and every one is made to order in a color you choose. With coloring keep in mind I can approximate a color you specify, not replicate exactly. Every time I make one it is dyed after felting and dependant on how the wool behaves the dye is absorbed.

They are very large in size roughly 180cmX180cm.

The look is very organic and it will keep out quite a bit of rain and wind. With a scarf pin kept in place it is my preferred attire on long walks as it is light and keeps out the elements. when coming up to a sunny spot it doubles as a great seat too.
Drop me a note and I'll see what I can do.
This is of course not the actual hat you will be receiving. Inside a little pocket for your mobile so it does not go all the way to the bottom of the bag and have you searching like mad.

40 cm (15.7") deep x30 cm (11.8" ) 50 cm (19.7") strap
(so the strap is 100 cm in total and the bag hangs 50 cm from your shoulder)

This bag was made in response to the
European street teateam's weekly challenge as hosted this week by nevousinstallezpas.etsy.com and shown on her blog http://www.nevousinstallezpas.be/blog
It is laid onto the wool in a swirly pattern.
From a large square I felted I cut water drop shapes and sewed them together. The zipper is a red large toothed one and the strap I sewed from dusty green cotton canvas. It is fully adjustable and has a quick release clasp so you can easily remove it.

It feels slightly more woolly than my usual 16 micron merino but is not scratchy at all, more slinky to the touch. And pills hardly.

This wool felts differently so I could make these beautiful "see through" leaves that are felted onto the scarf by stalks of yarn also spun by me.

it measures 15 cm (5.9") X 115 cm (45.3")

Knit and felt vest

$320.00
This started out as white unwashed uncarded wool. Norwegian C1 wool which I washed, carded, dyed, spun, knit and felted together.

The spun wool I knit into a large panel, then cut it to pieces and felted them back together again in the shape of a vest. It combines the stretchy comfort of a knit garment with the light sturdiness of felted wool. Together they form a warm but very lightweight vest/jacket.

The shoulders can be worn tied in or wide for either a sporty or a very elegant effect.

It closes by means of a felted poppy, which doubles as a beautiful brooch when you leave the vest open.

It will fit sizes small and medium , European 38/40
