Christmas SALE - 2010 calendar - print your own - print at home -- 12 months monthly 8x8 inches

$2.00
Unable to find a print-your-own calendar style I liked that was inexpensive and practical for my needs, I created my own entirely from scratch.

This 12-month calendar was made by me in a graphics program, and will be sent by email as an MS Word document for easy printing and resizing options. All 12 months are currently formatted within the Word document to print 8x8 inches square on whatever 8.5 x 11 inch paper or cardstock you choose.

The background is black, the squares are white. Days of the week and numbered dates are in black. Month name is done in red, and the year is an orange-yellow shade. Each white square is 1x1 inch in size, so just big enough for you to jot down appointments. After printing each page, you can either trim off the edges around the square, or you can use the margin to write notes.

The photos above show you what one page/month looks like when printed at 8x8 size on 8.5x11 inch paper. The third photo shows you a shrunken version of all 12 months, so you can see the font and layout for each month.

Calendar will be emailed to you upon purchase. If the email address you have on file with Etsy is not the address you want it emailed to, please provide the correct email address in a message to seller when checking out. If you'd prefer to receive the individual month jpeg graphic files rather than the pre-formatted Word document, please include that in the message to seller also.

Print one, print twelve, print what you need. Calendar is for personal, non-commercial use only. Design is available for home use only, and may not be resold in any manner.

Feel free to convo me with questions. :)

Adorable Curiosity photography quote book

$16.00
Everyone loves my "Adorable Curiosity" photos, but sometimes purchasing a single photograph isn't really a practical gift. Well, I listened and I'm happy to announce this new item I thought you'd love!

This listing is for a soft-cover, 5x7 inch, 20 page photo & quote book. I'm so happy with how it turned out, and I think you will be too! Filled with uplifting quotes about the importance of a friend, this book is a great gift idea for your best friend or your favorite child!

The front and back cover are a textured dark green cardstock. The front has a die-cut window with the first page of the book peeking through it.

Inside there are 10 of color photography and corresponding friendship quotes (listed below). This includes all 9 of my "Adorable Curiosity" series photos and my newest photo, "Mama & Me" featured on the artist's page at the back of the book. (You can see this photo available in my shop on a greeting card. It's a pair of ceramic cats seated at a large family dinner setting.)

There is one additional page at the back of the book that you can choose to either remove or use to write your own inscription to the recipient if you're gift-giving! This page does include a small logo of the company that printed the book, BUT I'm also including a FREE "Adorable Curiosity" 1.5 inch sticker. You may use this sticker to cover that logo. Or if you're removing the white page completely, you can do whatever you want with the free sticker. :)

The photos above show the book's front cover (photo 1), the first six pages of the book (photo 2), the last four pages of the book (photo 3), a sample of the color/font of the text inside (photo 4), and the book's thickness (photo 5). Of course, these were taken as quick shots to give you an idea of what the book looks like inside. The actual product is much nicer. The colors are more vibrant and images are clearer. There are no watermarks on any of the images in the book.

This book, my cards, and other photography items are professionally printed by a third party. This allows me to bring you my own photos on the best quality products available to me.

All original photographs & digital images ©2008

The quotes used in conjunction with each photo are:
1 - "Plant a seed of friendship; reap a bouquet of happiness."

2 - "A friend is a person who knows what you are saying, even if you're not talking."

3 - "A true friend is the greatest of all blessings, and that which we take the least care to acquire."

4 - "A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked."

5 - "If you think that the world means nothing, think again. You might mean the world to someone else."

6 - "A friend hears the song in my heart and sings it to me when my memory fails."

7 - "A best friend is like a four leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have."

8 - "When it hurts to look back, and you're too scared to look ahead, you can look beside you instead - your best friend will be there."

9 - "The greatest gift is not found in a store nor under a tree, but in the hearts of true friends."
SALE - vintage lace embroidered flower table runner - set of two - 44 x 18 inches

$6.00
This listing is for two panels of vintage embroidered flower lace. You could keep them as they are for table runners or cut them apart for your own creations!

Size: Each is 44 1/2 inches wide by 18 inches long.

As you can see in the photos, each panel consists of very fine lace with embroidered white flowers all over it. The edges of all four sides are sort of "die cut" so instead of a straight edge, the flowers actually make up the edging and are kind of staggered. Very pretty!

There are just a few very small holes in the sheer lace portions, and a couple of areas that have small (1 inch or so) red or brown streaks. These aren't really dark stains, so you don't really notice them unless you're looking close up. (The last photo shows the largest hole.) Considering the estimated age of these pieces, I think these traits just add to their character. Kind of brings out the true vintage feel of them. :)

From a non-smoking home. We have pets, but aren't allowed near my vintage or craft projects.

* international buyers: please contact me with country to get a price quote on shipping *

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This is just one of many fun vintage items I've rescued from my grandma's house as went through her things since she died. Just too neat to pass up!

Love vintage? Keep an eye on my shop...I've got a number of things already listed, and will be posting more as time permits. Everything from dolls to kitchen items to...well, you'll just have to wait and see! :)

SALE - Will Work For handmade Clothes assembled art framed collage recycled magazine paper shopping shopaholic

$8.00
This original OOAK collage uses a wide variety of color and patterns, some from recycled magazines, some from a scrapbooking store, and some from my sketchbook (then tinted with ink).

This piece is an original, not a print. I have not and will not be making duplicates or prints, to keep this truly unique.

Framed, the work is 11 x 14 inches. The original began as a 9 x 12 sketchbook page, and expanded from there. Sleek black frame with glass are included. The frame may be hung on a wall or displayed on a table.

The theme of the piece was nontraditional, handmade clothing. A closer look will reveal that I didn't just pop these lovely ladies out of a magazine as-is. They've been carefully selected and hand cut, with various details added below their surfaces. This gives their outfits something interestingly different than typical clothes in a catalog. For example, the blond is wearing a tank shirt which has been reworked with a purse strap in place of its original strap. They've been cut to appear as thought that's how the shirt was designed.

Matted on olive green paper, which has been cut and hand-pieced to break up a montonous plain background, and then embellished with hand stamped flourish designs in shades of blues and greens. (Please view all the photos, as some have reflections in the glass from items around the room.)

Background paper was specifically chosen to provide a little fun for the back of the frame too, which is made of a clear plexiglass sheet material. Stand this frame near a window or other back-lighting source, and you'll see an extra design surprise show through the front! (See the second photo.)

©2008

Adorable Curiosity I photo greeting note card original photograph FRIENDS frame framed

$6.50
This unique little item is a matted and framed photo attached to a small notecard that you can send or give to your very best friend. :)

The fun part is that after you've given it, your friend can display it! The card is designed with a special slit-and-ribbon technique (shown in the last picture) that allows the card to function as a cute little photo frame. Stand on a shelf or table, and you won't have to worry about the wind flattening the card. Stays put wherever you put it! :)

The photo enclosed is number 1 from my "Adorable Curiosity" series, which depicts a cute plush dinosaur meeting an equally cute porcelain Siamese kitten.

Green leather-like frame is bound to the heavyweight white cardstock with thick stitches, and the word "FRIENDS" is engraved below the photo opening.

Inside the card, the word "FRIENDS" is again repeated, in medium-sized green letters. Still plenty of space to write your own message.

A small white envelope is included with this photo greeting card. If you intend to be mailing this card, it should not need any special or additional postage. As just a card and envelope, I have weighed it, and the size and weight of the item fall just at the 1 ounce rate. If you add anything else to it, that may up the weight to the next ounce rate. (However, I'll be adding additional packing supplies to protect the item in shipping, which is why it costs a little more for me to mail it to you first.)

The card itself is about 4 1/2 inches wide x 3 inches tall. The photo opening is 2 x 3 inches.

Original photographs & digital images ©2008.

$2.00
Here's a 3x3 inch vinyl tile (originally a sample from a floor tile store many years ago) that I've turned into a magnet!

I started with a photo of Paul McCartney. In photoshop, I removed most of the background and then played around with the leftover image. I stuck with the halftone pattern filter to get a dotted effect similar to what the newspaper comics have. I tried a few color combinations, but I liked the two blues best.

Next I rediscovered some tile samples from a long time ago, and I chose one that has shades of brown and cream in kind of a random streak pattern.

From there, I printed the image out on special adhesive paper and cut it to fit on the tile. I cannot guarantee whether or not the image is waterproof, so I don't recommend getting it wet!

Finally, I flipped it over and hotglued a couple of strong magnets to the back.

Dimensions:
- tile is 3x3 inches square
- with magnets attached, the whole piece is about 1/4" thick

It's an old hand mixer that we came across in my grandma's collection of vintage kitchenware! Has that beautiful rustic look of true vintage collectibles!

Sturdy construction means it still works after all these years. The circular part of the hand crank reads: "A&J" (in a diamond shape), "Made in USA", and "PAT OCT. 9-1923"

I'm guessing this is probably aluminum, as most kitchenware was. The handles at the top and at the side crank are painted wood. There's a handy splatter dish layered between the hand crank and the beaters themselves.

Overall in terrific condition for its age! Obvious signs of rust, but the parts are all still fully functional and well preserved.

Size: 12 inches tall, and the dish has a 5 inch diameter.

Happy Birthday greeting card 5x7 fun colorful magnet alphabet letters

$3.00
Oh my gosh, I'm so excited about these cards! They're so much fun to make, and I can't wait to work on more types of cards, as well as other kinds of products, too!!

This one is a "Happy Birthday" card. It's 5x7 inches in size, with a plain white envelope included. Blank inside for your own message. Plenty of room inside for whatever you want to say, long or short!

I have other sayings available, and I WILL take special requests!! Want more than one? A pack of 10, maybe? Just ask. I'll do my best to accommodate.

I've sorted through my sea of letters, numbers, math symbols, and assorted shape magnets to find just the right color and size combination to spell out the special greeting on my own refrigerator. Then I took a number of photos myself, chose the one that turned out the absolute best, and had that photo professionally printed on glossy paper, because I've only got an inkjet here, and I want your colors to stay as vivid and smudge-free years down the road!

Check out the details of the card, and you'll see they texture and shine of my refrigerator is the background of the card! No boring plain white cardstock here!

Other than the printing, everything else was done by me by hand. The magnets used were ones I played with as a kid. Some came from my parents' house, and some came from my grandma's house. Most of the letters are true vintage, dating back to the 70s and 80s! They're much nicer and stronger than most of the crap you can buy in stores today.

Original photograph and digital image ©2008.

$10.00
When my grandma was growing up, she lived in a much different world than I do now. Born in 1911, she saw many things in significantly different way than I do. When my mom told me about finding my grandma's "scrapbook," it was not at all what I expected it would be. It was filled with newspaper and magazine clippings on everything from helpful household hints to recipes to marital advice - and let me tell you, things have CHANGED since she was in HER 20s back in the 1930s!

With all of that said, what does it have to do with this tissue box cover? Well, nothing specifically...but now that I've flipped through that book, things like these decorative tissue covers make a little more sense to me. I can almost see her back then, shopping with her twin sister for affordable ways to decorate their houses to be as pleasing to the eye as they were functional. Were tissue box covers really necessary? Well, it may not seem so, but these mount to the wall - which was good, since counter space was nearly unheard of in bathrooms back in those days.

So that wraps up my imagined tale of how this tissue box (and its own twin, also for sale in my shop) came to be hung on the wall of my grandma's bathroom for at LEAST the past 50 years.

* DESCRIPTION:

When you consider its age, its condition is pretty awesome! As you can see in the picture, this one has some very minor areas of chips in the paint and rust. It appears to be missing only 3 of the rhinestones that are randomly scattered into the gold floral design. These could easily be replaced with new rhinestones. I couldn't bring myself to do it, because this is just how I've always remembered them looking for my entire life.

This metal box is free-standing, with holes on the back if you'd like to hang it up on your bathroom wall for 50 more years. :) Products were made to LAST back then, and they really hold up! The brand name is marked on the back - "Ransburg - the finest in its field"

This will hold the long, thin boxes of tissues. Admittedly, those are harder to find in stores these days. But my grandma had a little trick...she'd just buy one box of the long tissues, cut open the top, remove the tissues, and tuck half the stack into this box and half the stack into her matching box on the other wall. (I have no idea why she had two of these in the same room. That never seemed odd to me until just this very minute.)

* SIZE:

The dimensions are as follows:
10 1/2 inches long
5 inches wide
2 1/4 inches tall
(I measured the box with lid on.)

* SHIPPING:

This listing is for ONE of these tissue cover boxes. Shipping for ONE is $5.75 to the U.S. Contact me for all international rates.

I have TWO of these for sale, but the second is a separate listing in my shop. Shipping for BOTH of these boxes together would be $7.00 to the U.S. You'll notice that is NOT reflected in the combined shipping cost listed below. The amount listed is for ONE box and most other items available in my shop.

If you're interested in BOTH tissue cover boxes, please contact me BEFORE paying, so I can update the combined shipping information to reflect the $7 total shipping cost for both boxes together. If you fail to contact me, I can send a refund for the difference, but I'd prefer you contact me first. :) Thanks.

* international buyers: please contact me with country to get a price quote on shipping *

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

This is just one of many fun vintage items I've rescued from my grandma's house as went through her things since she died.

$5.00
Holy crap, look at this thing! How awesome is this?! 300% vintage, The Cookie Machine "as seen on TV" made by RONCO!! Yes even back in 1976, Ron Popeil was thinking up kitchen gadgets that housewives could not be without! I have to wonder what the commercial for this item must've been like. [I know I must have seen his food dehydrator infomercial at least a dozen times back in its day. Remember how he brought the kids on stage to make the homemade fruit roll-ups and banana chips?
$5.00
Here's an old poster from Disney's "Pinocchio!" Exact age is unknown, but judging by how long I know this has been in our family and the style of the art, I'd place it from at least the 70s, if not older.

Size:
14 1/2 inches x 20 inches

Overall, it's in great condition! The edges are all clean and the colors are as vibrant as ever. (The back is plain white. Very clean, unstained and unmarked.) It's been stored folded up for years, so the creases are a little more worn than the edges are. But when displayed in a frame, I'm sure the creases will flatten and become less noticeable.

For international shipping, please contact me with country and I'll get back to you with shipping cost.
