This is an original drawing done in chalk pastel, it measures 11"x14". In this series, which looks into the idea of the birth and death of situations, conditions and presences,is my first exploration into that avenue. Here you see the birth of a presence (that presence being technology in our society). I explored what that meant; birth. For me, that meant the idea of a mother, not just any mother, but the "mother of invention". This piece also deals with the idea of the old or arcane, meaning, the "art" of drawing, using a manual method, rather than a high tech method, juxtaposed with a symbol of technology itself. It is emblazoned on the swollen pregnant stomach of the mother of invention, which is not only round, but it is so large, that she can't quite manage or contain it. There I will leave you to make all the rest of the connections for yourself, implications being what they are, or are not, it is up to the beholder.

This piece is sure to be a conversation starter, and has been finished with Final Fixative to keep it from smudging and becoming marred. You will be able to enjoy "The Birth of Technology" for a long time to come.

This listing is for a custom made portrait from your favorite photograph. It can be in black and white, mahogany or color. Just send me the photo via mail or email, and I will create your portrait! Upon completion, I spray all portraits with Final Fixative, rather than Workable Fixative, so that your portrait is protected against smudges and such!

If you want a larger or smaller sized portrait, I would love to make a different customized portrait for you! Just convo me and let me know what you are looking for. The 11x14 size portrait takes approximately 3-5 days, but it also depends on the amount of fine detail. I will give you a more accurate time line if the photo contains a lot of fine details, although, it usually takes no longer than a week.

As with all of my items, I usually send things out priority, unless you tell me it's not necessary.

After doing the first set of flippies with the phases of the moon, I have been longing to do another. So amongst other goings on, here it is. It is another lovely set of five flippies with a golden wheat colored moon, adorning the loveliest of indigo covers. Each one features 25 pale yellow pages, all perforated for your convenience. It is all held firmly together with a shiny silver rivet, and measures approximately 3 1/2". It's quick, it's easy, it's a flippy!

Here they come, more adorable flippies! This set is adorned with five phases of the moon as it transforms from the thinnest sliver of a crescent to its full, round celestial beauty. Each one is approximately 3 3/8" in diameter and held together securely with a tiny gold star shaped brad. What could be more fitting? Hankering for a little bite of cheese? Well, don't look to this little squeaker to share his stash! This woodburned image really stands out with the addition of the yellow coloring to the cheese. The little mouse seems to be a little wary of anyone eyeing his cheese, so don't stand too close to him. The cheese board measures approximately 14" in lenghth, from the tip of the handle to the bottom of the cutting surface.

**Note, if you are intending to use this board for slicing your cheeses and such, please let us know at time of purchase. We can coat it with a food safe lacquer, otherwise, we will coat it with a regular wood lacquer.

This is a listing for a handmade "welcome" plaque, which reads, "Arr! Walk the plank ye scurv! What better way to greet all of your guests than with a little pirate humor? The plaque measures approx. 5 1/2"x12 5/8"x3/4" and is made from white pine. It has been sealed with indoor/outdoor gloss finish wood lacquer for added protection and allows for indoor or outdoor use. All edges of the plaque have been given a decorative touch using a router. The plaque also features a pirate ship, as well as two nautical stars. All images and letters have been woodburned. The letters are of special interest, because they were done in middle age Gothic Calligraphy, a common use of typography during the reign of pirates on the high seas, matey! ARRR!
