The Birth of Technology 11x14

$40.00
This is an original drawing done in chalk pastel, it measures 11"x14". In this series, which looks into the idea of the birth and death of situations, conditions and presences,is my first exploration into that avenue. Here you see the birth of a presence (that presence being technology in our society). I explored what that meant; birth. For me, that meant the idea of a mother, not just any mother, but the "mother of invention". This piece also deals with the idea of the old or arcane, meaning, the "art" of drawing, using a manual method, rather than a high tech method, juxtaposed with a symbol of technology itself. It is emblazoned on the swollen pregnant stomach of the mother of invention, which is not only round, but it is so large, that she can't quite manage or contain it. There I will leave you to make all the rest of the connections for yourself, implications being what they are, or are not, it is up to the beholder.

This piece is sure to be a conversation starter, and has been finished with Final Fixative to keep it from smudging and becoming marred. You will be able to enjoy "The Birth of Technology" for a long time to come.

Well, don't look to this little squeaker to share his stash! This woodburned image really stands out with the addition of the yellow coloring to the cheese. The little mouse seems to be a little wary of anyone eyeing his cheese, so don't stand too close to him. The cheese board measures approximately 14" in lenghth, from the tip of the handle to the bottom of the cutting surface.

**Note, if you are intending to use this board for slicing your cheeses and such, please let us know at time of purchase. The front of the flippy features a trio of cute, sparkly skulls in silver and blue on an indigo background. Who doesn't love a little sparkle? Not only that, but who could resist these litte guys? Inside, there are 25 pages in a cream color, and as always, perforated for your convenience. This flippy measures approximately 3 5/8" in diameter. Each flippy is held firmly in place with a silver rivet, much stronger than a brad or staple, allowing it to flip open. It's quick, it's easy, it's a flippy!

Paisley Pouch Wallet

$5.00
This handmade wallet, pouch or change purse was made with one of my favorite patterns, paisley! I lined it on the inside with a bright magenta. If you look closely, you will see that it has a very subtle flower pattern, just enough texture to make it interesting, but not enough to become overly busy or competitive with the paisley print. The measurements are approximately 3 5/8"x4 1/4", small enough to fit in your pocket or a very small purse. It snaps closed with a mini anorak snap, in a shiny nickle finish. All stitches are triple stitched for added durability, while also appearing in silver on the front and gold on the back of the wallet.
