Made from one complete LP sleeve with the front cover on the outside, back cover on the inside and the vinyl record on top. Top and bottom are lined with a navy and white star print. White pearly plastic handle, sturdy draw bolt latch and quality hardware.

Record: American Graffiti Soundtrack

This was one of the first LP's I ever owned - This two-record soundtrack from the popular movie of 1973 is a really good collection of early rock'n roll, soul and doo wop. I'm sure I must have driven the rest of my family nuts playing it over and over and over as a young teenager. This copy must be a later single sleeve pressing, as I remember my copy had a gatefold sleeve with stills from the movie inside. Movie stills or no, the airbrush cover art featuring a roller skating waitress from Mel's gives this box a cool retro vibe.

Who doesn't love Ray Charles? Apparently the previous owner of this album did - the vinyl was truly played out! Oh well, the red cover with Ray in action and some nice typography made this LP from 1962 a fabulous choice for a box.

Record: Carnival of the Animals - Noel Coward, Kostelanetz

Considered by many to be the quintessential recording of Camille Saint-Saëns' suite "Carnival of the Animals", it was released in 1950 on Columbia Masterworks, and features Noel Coward reading verses written by Ogden Nash, accompanied by Andre Kostelanetz and his orchestra. The cover art and typography is just wonderful, and I knew it would make a fun and colorful box.

Song to a Seagull was Joni Mitchell's debut album, released in 1968. The beautiful cover art, designed and painted by Joni herself, describes themes from the songs within, illustrating sort of a city vs. country concept. I love the way the organic forms and bright colors wrap around the box inside and out, with young Joni's pretty face emerging from under the lid.

Cat peeks out from the inside as if to say, "Thank you for rescuing my records from the trash heap!"

I love the cover of this album that Rod Stewart released back was he was GOOD! Oops, did I say that? Seriously, this record rocks and explains his huge popularity that began in the 1970s. The cover art, with muted tones and a collage-y hand-tinted photograph look, is printed on uncoated board which gives it a real organic feel and makes a handsome case for a dozen of your favorite retro rock discs (or flash drives!).
