Tracks in the Sand

I have been fascinated this summer watching the youtube videos from the 11 Loggerhead turtle nests which hatched at Carolina Beach this summer..Next year I want to be there. There was one leatherback nest which was monitored day and night until it hatched.

Every year on July Fourth the town of Southport North Carolina bedecks itself in flags and throws a big parade and festival. These flags range from the North Carolina flag through the Continental Colors and a flag with 15 stars and 15 stripes to our modern day Stars and Stripes.
