Sit a while and have a cup from this pot I made of white stoneware thrown on my wheel. The lid and spout are hand thrown and the handle pulled, when all were assembled it was fired in gas reduction. The glaze is an oriebe- green, with some other colors to blush and add a shine.
Measurements provided upon request.

Keeping it to a simple design and then adding decorative features to build a pot that is functional and attractive. Its white stoneware fired to about 2300 degrees.

Thrown on the wheel it has an added thrown spout and lid that has a gallery and a thrown knob. It also has a pulled handle that is comfortable to hold.
The turned foot stands up a little off the table.
The colors have a great high shine that is smooth and decorative.
The design was made using a carving tool to create stripes around the pot. The glaze is darker there which highlighted the design.
This teapot is 7.5" H from knob to bottom. Although it is dishwasher and microwave safe just give it a gentle hand wash and air dry.
All the glazes I use are lead free and food safe.

Inspired by Dr. David MacDonald, this tumbler was thrown on the wheel using white stoneware. It is completely functional and will hold liquid.
Its hand carved tracks travel all around the piece in an abstract design. It has a tooled or turned foot ring and is 5 3/4" height and 3.5" diameter.
The glaze combination is light blue, green and maroon fired to 2300 degrees. The inside is maroon.
It is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe but a gentle hand wash is just fine.

I am offering this piece for sale at a reduced price it was originally 125.00
This lidded piece was made from a brown stoneware and was thrown on the wheel. I started with about 8.5 lbs of clay and threw this jar in one piece. The lid was thrown upside down and later tooled and the knob added.
The beads are tied to the knob with a leather cord. I used a white underglaze to draw the birds in flight that adorn the rim. It was dipped in glaze and then airbrushed in a combination that makes a deep rich maroon. The thorwing lines at the bottom were left to reveal a history and add accent to the glaze.
It was fired in to about 2300 degrees for 12 hours and left to cool down for 2 days.

Its versitile and can be used for a floral arrangement, summer garden adornment, or storage jar for the kitchen to stash bags of beans, cookies or rice. It will hold water if used for a vase.
It is food safe and all the glazes are lead free. You could even microwave it and put it in the dishwasher. But, a gentle hand wash and towel dry is all that is needed.

It is 13 inches in height.

The Brooklyn cup was made because I miss Brooklyn and have very fond memories of growing up on Grand Ave. The cup is white stoneware and fired in cone 6.
It was thrown on the wheel and was decorated with little brownstone houses using a carving tool at the leather hard state. It is glazed with a beautiful clear blueberry blue glaze and a little bit of cranberry glaze on top. It will hold 6 ounces of liquid. It is 3 1/4" in height.
This cup is dishwasher and microwave, safe.

This beautiful holiday red combination is has a shine and a transparent glow. The glaze on the top flowed into the glaze under and created a lava flow with a fuchsia edge.
