Leftovers #24 is a guilty pleasure from my childhood. I made this bracelet just for you in my Easy Bake oven. It took a REALLY long time, but it was SO worth it.

PREVIOUSLY $18, NOW $10.

This bracelet is a comfortable 8" (21 cm) of poly clay brown and tan poly clay beads knotted with brown waxed cotton cord. The bracelet closes by putting the final bead through the loop at the end. Please note that these are clay beads so they have some weight to them. So if you're on a diet, this would be one of those things you take off before you step on the scale. (lol) This bracelet is sold as is and cannot be resized.

Leftovers #55 is the delicious-ness of Chicken Stir Fry With Veggies AKA 8" (21 cm) of antique brass cable chain, tan textured vintage plastic nuggets, antique brass bead caps, green quartz rounds, olive jade rondelles, Czech glass faceted rounds, dyed coral tubes, antique brass drops, brown fossil rounds, and dyed jade rounds. Bracelet closes with a toggle clasp and will be sized upon ordering, so please measure a bracelet that fits you end to end and give me that measurement. Keep in mind that when a toggle clasp closes, it takes up about 1/2". This is a one of a kind design!

Mmm, mmm, mmm! Leftovers #41 is going South of the Border for a rather, shall we say, tipsy interpretation of Fried Bananas with Raisins and Rum. This exotic necklace is 18" (46 cm) long and consists of a 30mm x 40mm banana agate focal oval pendant and then four different strands that make up the necklace. The piece is strung on brown hemp twine instead of wire so it can stay loose as the party goes late into the evening! The strands are:

1-Oregon jasper coins, copper spacers, burgundy dyed wooden beads
2-Mookaite faceted rondelles, copper spacers, brown wooden coin beads
3-Topaz-colored glass rondelles, copper spacers, red artistic jasper rounds
4-Terracotta tubes, copper spacers, mookaite chips

The piece closes with antique copper fold over and lobster clasps. If you'd like a toggle clasp, I'm happy to switch it out for you. If you'd like an extender chain, please let me know in notes to seller. This is a one of a kind piece. Once this bottle is empty...adios!

It's also 8" (21 cm) of antique cable chain, AB Czech glass bi-colored coins, aqua pearls, glass nuggets, caramel mother of pearl nuggets, and antique copper coins. Not all of Chilly's family are available at Risky Beads this year. Some have retired, but his SnowGrammy is here, and you may see some other members of his extended family pop up. I never know when; they refuse to call.

This 8.5" (22 cm) gunmetal cable chain bracelet is all that's left of Chilly Snowman, a common snowman who's life met a common end. Wear this bracelet in his honor. It's adorned with chunks of 'ice,' vintage chambroth rounds, faux pearls, vintage white glass beads with black speckles, lumps of 'coal,' and a tragic, fallen carrot. The bracelet closes with a toggle clasp. Please let me know what length you want the bracelet to be in notes to seller and I will customize it for you. When measuring your bracelet size, let me know if you're measuring your wrist or an actual bracelet you have. With a toggle clasp, a closed toggle takes about 1/2" off the length of the piece, just fyi.

Just in time for Happy Hour, I present my tribute to Mad Men, one of the best shows on television. (10pm, Sundays, AMC). Now in it's 3rd season, Mad Men is a jewel of a show. The writing is superb because the writer's know what to leave in, what to leave out, and what to leave you scratching your head about. The take the footprint of each character's Achilles's Heel and somehow use them to make a pathway to the two humanities we're presented with each week: the one the ad agency is trying to cynically advertise to the general public and the one playing out all around them. This bracelet celebrates two constantly colliding factors on the show--liquor and lust.

It's 8" (21 cm) of antique silver plated cable chain adorned with silver plated heels, vintage clear plastic bead caps turned upside down to hold tiny kambaba rounds representing the Vodka Gimlet. The larger kambaba rounds are just the perpetual olives always around when liquor's on the menu. Bracelet closes with a decorative toggle clasp and will be sized upon ordering. When my sister and I were little, my parents took us to the circus. We didn't care about seeing the animals or the performers; all we wanted were these cheapy flashlights they had in either blue or red. The light barely lasted 15 minutes, but it was the best 15 minutes ever because the whole coliseum would go dark and all you could see was blue and red lights waving in the air attached to hundreds of screaming children.

These earrings hang 2" (4.5 cm) long on gunmetal kidney wires. The bead is a gorgeous 10mm ornate round with a red and blue design. If you'd prefer a shorter or longer wire, please ask before purchasing; I can probably make that work!

There are lots of words, but also lots of pictures, so you can speed right along. There are a ton of links so that you can go straight to the source and lots of advice to help you make decisions about your shop.

This book is a labor of love, not just a list of answers to FAQs. I hope it will inspire you and help to renew your energy and fine-tune your focus for 2009! These 16mm matte deep purple vintage lucite rounds are the prettiest beads I've seen. They are gorgeous--the perfect shade of purple that's almost black but not quite, and a matte finish which is to die for. They are therefore being protected by equally pretty 18mm vintage brass starflower caps who, like me, want no harm to befall the pretties. The earring wires are extra large kidney wires and they hang 3" long. Wear these and be fierce.

A true story...

My father partook of both--black coffee and cigarettes. I awoke to it every morning; every time I smell it, I think about leaving for school. I've never taken a sip or a puff of either--neither appeal to me. Often wished that I did just for the prop-effect, often feel like an alien when I pull into Caribou for a *smoothie.* And coffee isn't what it used to be. Black coffee is dying a slow death except in un-renovated offices, and in the occasional die-hard who has no use for what Starbucks has done to it. And that's where I found myself over a year ago, having breakfast with a former co-worker who was drinking it. I didn't know it, wasn't paying attention. I was, however, insisting that someone was smoking in the restaurant, kept coming back to it every few minutes, looking around; it was driving me nuts. Finally, my co-worker said, "Nobody's smoking. I think it's my coffee."

"Huh?"

"It's my coffee. Black coffee. A lot of people associate the two."

I never thought about it until then. "Let me smell it." She handed me her cup, and, *god,* she was right. "Whoa, it's my dad. I feel like I'm ten again."

This bracelet is the product of that experience.

If you like jingle-y bracelets, you'll LOVE this piece! It's 8" (21cm) of antique brass cable chain adorned with snake-skin brass, antique copper, and antique silver coins. Bracelet closes with a toggle clasp. Please measure a bracelet that fits you end to end and give me that measurement.
