I am addicted to those huge assorted button bags at the craft store! Simple buttons make the best base for a delicate tatted border. These beautiful buttons were made by Tennekka.

The pendant is approximately 1 1/2" by 2 1/4" worked in black and set on a silver-tone jump ring. There is no chain included with the pendants. If you would prefer a fabric covered pinback or barrette attatched to this piece instead of a jump ring, just tell me in the message to seller when checking out.

FREE SHIPPING WITH ANOTHER ORDER!!!

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. This piece was made using the shuttle tatting method.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.

This listing is an official entry in the MODNARoS 'Contest with No Name' To vote for this item, please visit wEtsy Behind the Ears at http://etsynewbie.blogspot.com.
Frogs and Flies Knit Hat

$15.00
I am a frog fan! I collect frogs of all sorts (no live ones as of yet, but plenty of others). I created this little frog fair isle pattern a few years ago and made the first of these hats.

The hat is knit in the round in one piece and grafted at the top, so there are no seams. At approximately 22" x 8 1/2", it's large enough to fit most adult heads. Fair isle frogs dance along the bottom and fly tassels hang about 11" on either side.

Made with acrylic yarn, this piece is easy to care for and very comfortable and warm. You're sure to get compliments on this unusual little hat!

Knit in a chevron pattern and then felted, this cute little bag has a scallopped bottom and measures approx 7" by 8 1/2" with 12" handles. Although it's small, this little bag will hold more than you'd think and will not stretch out of shape or let small objects fall through.

If you would like a similar bag in another color or anything else, just hit "request custom order" and we'll brainstorm together.
Twilit Roses Tatted and Crocheted Choker

$100.00
I admit it, I’m obsessed with Twilight. As I made my A Rose By Any Other Name choker, this choker started to take shape in my head. I wouldn’t say I improved on the original pattern because I love the way it turned out, but I did change it slightly for this version.

I crocheted the roses with red and white DMC tatting thread and joined them with a black tatted border. The choker attaches with red satin ribbon ties. The tatted piece measures approximately 11” and the entire piece measures 42” so it can easily fit any neck comfortably. The ribbons can be cut down to a smaller length if you so choose. I lightly singed the ends of the ribbon to prevent raveling.

In the center, a frame hangs with the words “Be Safe” and a small apple charm dangles beneath red seed beads and a clear Swarovski crystal. With the charms, the center measures approximately 2 3/4.” The rest of the piece measures about 1” across.

FREE SHIPPING WITH ANOTHER ORDER!!!

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. It is a very time consuming and beautiful art. This piece was made using the shuttle tatting method. It represents over 30 hours of work from beginning to end.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.
You crochet her a toy!

The new little kitty in our household loved her ruffle ball so much, that I decided to make a few more and offer them here.

This little crocheted ball is approximately 7” around and 3” high. A little jingle bell is crocheted into the top and the entire outside is covered with ruffles to give a nice hold for little paws.

$100.00
“Captain Reynolds, it took me years to cut this piece of territory out of other men's hands, to build this business up from nothing. It's who I am, and it's my home. I'm not going anywhere.”

-Nandi

This choker might be my favorite out of all the ones I’ve made so far. It has a lot of rustic feel to me. I’m sure that Nandi or any of her girls would love to have this piece of frippery.

The lace was tatted directly onto burgundy picot-edged ribbon with the charms joined as I went. The charms have an antiqued gold look and are a beautiful variety of hearts, with the center charm being a key with a heart top and rhinestone set into the bottom.

The gold-plated chain allows for a little extra room in the choker so it can fit between 14” and 17” comfortably and is finished off with an additional heart. The lace and ribbon measures approximately 1 1/4” across, 2 1/8” at the center key charm.

This piece was made using the shuttle tatting method and represents over 25 hours of work.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.

I'm still not entirely sure if he is one creature or two stuck together. His eyes seem to be independant of each other and surprised if they cross paths. He doesn't say much, so I haven't been able to ask him/them.

Meebus doesn't seem to have any specific interests, but simply enjoys observing his surroundings. He would love to come and see what new and interesting things you have to show him.

Meebus is completely sewn by hand. He was made from a brand new sock, never touched by human foot. He "stands" (leans is a more appropriate word, I suppose) approximately 9" tall.

Had it moved.”
-Malcolm Reynolds, “Serenity”

In every war and conflict there have always been people on the home front knitting items to send to soldiers on the front. The Browncoat supporters were no different. Some items faired better than others on the battlefield. This scarf sustained a few injuries in its tour of duty.

Battle Scars is a new hand-knit scarf with a “worn-in” look. Knit with drop stitch sections to mimic wear and tear, it’s made from wonderfully soft hand spun llama yarn purchased from fellow etsian wildhare.

It measures approximately 32” long, 6 ½” wide and is hand washable. This amazingly soft scarf is one of a kind and suitable for a man or woman.

Thank you for you interest in this scarf created for the Big Damn Crafters’ February Challenge. The colors in this scarf make me think of a misty spring Scottish morning when the heather is in bloom. Or, at least, the way I imagine it in my head. I must admit I’ve only been in Scotland in the late fall.

This scarf was knit with hand spun wool yarn from fellow etsian wildhare and features beautiful lavender, purple, and green tones. It measures approximately 32” long and 4 ½” across. The simple texture stitch shows off the natural texture of the yarn.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to convo me.
$80.00
When I first saw this vintage edging pattern, I saw flowers in its shape. I decided to use thread colors to bring out this image and create something delicate to embody a feeling of spring.

This dainty choker was hand tatted in spring green and variegated lavender and green thread. It measures approximately 14” long and 1/2" across. The silver-tone clasp can be fastened almost any place along the choker and there is some natural stretch to the lace, so it’s highly adjustable for the perfect fit.

FREE SHIPPING WITH ANOTHER ORDER!!!

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. It is a very time consuming and beautiful art. This piece was made using the shuttle tatting method and represents over 20 hours of work.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.
I am addicted to those huge assorted button bags at the craft store! Simple buttons make the best base for a delicate tatted border. But now I've found something even better than craft store button assortments: vintage button assortments! This shiny purple button came in an assortment of vintage buttons I purchased from Sommersbreezeantique here on etsy!

I took this little button and worked a tatted edging around it in variegated burgundy and magenta thread. The pendant is approximately 1 1/2" across and set on a gold-tone jump ring. There is no chain included with the pendants. I can easily change the jump ring to silver-tone or attach a pin back, if you prefer. Just tell me so at check-out.

FREE SHIPPING WITH ANOTHER ORDER!!!

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. I have decided to take these beads that have piled up from beading projects and accentuate the beauty within them with tatting! This little green bead had chipped and become flat on the back. There are no sharp edges, just a flat back.

The beautiful hand-dyed thread around the outside of this flower was purchased from fellow etsian LadyShuttleMaker! Sometimes, I get very lucky and find great yarns in unexpected places. I found an amazing assortment of black yarns all bagged up together at a thrift store a few weeks ago. This black and white was one of my favorites in the bunch and the first one I chose to work with.

The black and white yarn reminds me of a chocolate snack I never seem to eat outside of a movie theater: Snowcaps! This sassy little scarf is looking for a home with someone else who likes this treat!

At approximately 6'6" x 3 1/2", this scarf is much warmer than it appears. The stripes of black fur yarn are double-stranded for added warmth and the white tufts in the main yarn add warmth to that as well. It's long enough to wrap around your neck more than once when you're all bundled up against the cold, or simply throw it over your shoulders for a little style when the temperature is more moderate.

Both yarns are acrylic, making this scarf easy to care for. If you have any questions or requests, feel free to convo me. Thanks for your interest.

All That Jazz Scarf

$45.00
As soon as I sat down with these yarns to start work on this scarf, "All That Jazz" started playing in my head. "Theme from 'New York, New York'" was there, too. It just became a giant Kander and Ebb revue in my head. Since "All That Jazz" was the first to start it off, that's what I chose to name this scarf, or rather, what it named itself.

This scarf is crocheted with a total of three kinds of yarn, two of them are infused with metallic gold threads. The light plays off the metallics and adds shimmer to the black and grey background.

At approximately 6' by 3 1/2", it's long enough to wrap comfortably around your neck more than once to keep out the cold. The thick ribbon yarn and double-stranded worsted/eyelash combination, make this a very warm little scarf. It will keep Jack Frost at bay and add a little flair to your winter wardrobe as well!

If you have any questions or requests, please feel free to convo me. Thank you for your interest.

Pictures cannot possibly express how soft and luxurious this scarf is. Made from yarn recycled from unloved sweaters, the pink has a touch of angora and the green a touch of soft wool.

It is comprised of 14 granny squares, one of which has a three-dimensional rose motif in the center. It measures approximately 7' 6" x 6" and is long enough to wrap around your neck to keep you extra warm. The gentle flower motif will help you bring a touch of spring to your fall and winter wardrobe.

This piece is hand washable and made with clean recycled yarn and completely one of a kind. If you would like a similar scarf in another color and/or different yarn, convo me. Thank you for your interest.

This afghan is soft and silky to the touch and drapes beautifully.

At 36" x 45" this precious little blanket is perfect for a summer baby or just displayed on the back of a sofa. The teal and mint green squares are bordered with cream to make them pop.
Winifred Hand-Tatted Choker

$100.00
Her life was very ordinary. She looked after her house and family, went calling on friends, and did her various handiwork projects. But Winifred carried a secret. While many of her friends wore a cameo or other token at their throat, Winifred wore a small bottle with a few drops of water. It was her reminder of a long-ago summer filled with enchantment and the warmth of a family who had taken her in. She carried the drops of enchanted water to remind her of the importance of life and its twists, turns, and eventual end.

One of my favorite books as a child was Natalie Babbit's "Tuck Everlasting." If you have never read it, I highly recommend you do. It was the inspiration for this charming lace choker.

I tatted an edging directing onto a length of picot-edged ribbon to create this choker and attatched a miniature bottle with tatting around it. The piece is finished with a lobster claw and 3" length of chain so that it can fit a neck from 15" to 18." A small dragonfly charm dangles at the end of the chain as a reminder of summer.

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. This piece was made using the shuttle tatting method, represents over 25 hours of work, and contains more than 4300 knots.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.

$50.00
"Every planet has its own weird customs. About a year before we met, I spent six weeks on a moon where the principal form of recreation was juggling geese. My hand to God. Baby geese. Goslings. They were juggled."
-Hoban 'Wash' Washburne

If you're a fan of Firefly, you knew what this was all about before you clicked the listing, if not, you're still confused. This quote is from the episode Our Mrs. Reynolds from the short-lived, long-loved series Firefly which spawned the movie Serenity. The other day the idea of fashioning some juggling geese just became too irresistable.

Well, here they are. Three adorable little hand knit and crocheted goslings just waiting to be juggled. Don't juggle? That's all right. They're also fairly contended to sit on a shelf and look cute. Just toss them around once in a while if they start honking too loudly.

Each gosling measures approximately 5" tall and 8" around the belly. Their heads are stuffed with fiberfill and their bellies have poly pellets in the toe of a brand new knee high stocking to prevent spilling. They're soft to the touch and fairly hefty to toss, but well balanced. Juggling geese are not recommended for pets or small children as small pieces could be dangerous if they should break.

Each set of geese is handmade to order. Please allow at least two weeks for delivery.
Each rose is about the size of a quarter. The two roses are not identical because of the variation in the thread color, but compliment each other well.

If you have any questions or requests, please feel free to convo me.

Dream Hand Tatted Earrings

$12.00
I fell in love with these little tag word charms the other day. This is the first set of tatted earrings with the first set of them.

The tatted motif looks somewhat like a snowflake worked in a baby blue thread with a blue swarovski crystal at the center. The tag charms attatched to these motifs say "dream" Photographed on sample hooks, they will be mounted on sterling silver hooks before being sent to you which may appear slightly different than those in the picture.

The earrings are approximately 1 1/2" in length, not including the hooks.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. These were made using the shuttle tatting method.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.

Every day her watch counts down the moments. As the time approaches, her breathing speeds and she can feel her palms become clammy. Finally, as her heart reaches a roaring crescendo, she sees him. Today, at last, he sees her and smiles. She greets him and senses a beginning. . .

This choker features ecru tatting worked onto mauve picot-edged ribbon with a silver colored heart charm and findings. It measures approximately 1" across (2 3/4" at the charm) and can fit a neck from 12 1/2"-16 1/2". The 4" chain is finished with an additional heart charm.

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. This piece was made using the shuttle tatting method, represents over 20 hours of work, and contains more than 4300 knots.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.

$100.00
All eyes were on her as she entered the ballroom. She felt a bit like Cinderella as she descended the stairs. As the tango music began, she knew she must choose a partner. . .

This choker features five mother of pearl buttons set into an original tatted insertion pattern, a sixth mother of pearl shank button works as a clasp. These mother of pearl buttons came in an assortment of vintage buttons I purchased from Sommersbreezeantique here on etsy! The tatting is worked in DMC size 12 perle cotton.

Because the button fits into the tatting, this choker can measure between 11"- 14" with a little extra stretch room. If you need more space (it sure doesn't fit my fat neck, ;), just let me know in the notes to seller and I can tat a few extra inches. The choker measures approximately 1 1/4" across at the center button and 3/4" at the tails.

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. It is a very time consuming and beautiful art. This piece was made using a combination of shuttle and needle tatting methods.

If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.

Special thanks to catlover1 for helping me name this choker!
I am addicted to those huge assorted button bags at the craft store! Simple buttons make the best base for a delicate tatted border. But now I've found something even better than craft store button assortments: vintage button assortments! This mother of pearl button came in an assortment of vintage buttons I purchased from Sommersbreezeantique here on etsy!

I took this little button and worked a tatted edging around it in hand-dyed varigated and white threads. The beautiful bright hand-dyed thread was purchased from another etsy artist LadyShuttleMaker.

The pendant is approximately 1 1/4" across and set on a silver-tone jump ring. There is no chain included with the pendants. I can easily change the jump ring to gold-tone if you prefer. Ever since I started experimenting with crocheting with my tatting thread and super small hooks, I've considered how to put the tatting and crocheting together. Well, here it is.

This choker features tiny crocheted and tatted roses joined together with a cloverleaf tatted edging. Because the choker joins by organza ribbon ties, it's extremely flexible in size. The tatting/crochet section meausures approximately 11" long. The entire piece with the ribbon included measures approximately 48" and is 1" across. If you need to, you can always cut the ribbon down to precisely the size you need. The ends of the ribbon have been lightly singed to prevent unraveling.

FREE SHIPPING WITH ANOTHER ORDER!!!

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I.
Eek and Boo the Halloween Brother Sock Critters

$20.00
These guys just showed up on my doorstep the other day. I believe they were stitched by a mad scientist.

Boo is the bigger of the two brothers. He loves to brew strange concoctions and make a mess in the kitchen. I think he needs to be with someone who cooks a lot more than I do to keep him occupied.

Eek likes hiding in the corners and jumping out at you. He loves scary movies and Stephen King novels. He also likes that I have a bad startle reflex and laughs at me a lot.

These two creatures are completely sewn by hand. They were made from brand new novelty socks, never touched by human foot. Boo measures approximately 17" from head to toe and has poly-pellets in his rear end to help him sit. Eek "stands" (leans is a more appropriate word, I suppose) approximately 14" tall.

Each has one arm which has flashing lights that activate when moved and is decorated with hand tatted spiders. Boo also has a bowtie with a tiny bat applique in the middle. If you would like some hand tatted spiders to decorate your own Halloween creations, including sewn items, scrapbook pages, cards, etc, please visit my shop and order a set! Thank you for your interest!
Ninja Temptress Hand-Tatted Choker

$100.00
Your beauty may draw every eye when you walk into a room, but cat-like reflexes ensure they will never hear you coming from behind. In love and war the element of surprise is everything. . .

This sexy choker is tatted from DMC pearl cotton. It gives the impression of delicate flowers supported between lacy bars. It's strong yet soft to the touch. It represents over 15 hours of work tying each little knot.

The inherent stretch of tatted lace and the added split ring chain allow this choker to measure anywhere from 15-19 inches to fit just about any neck. It closes with a silver-tone lobster claw.

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. The look is achieved by tying tiny knots to create rings and chains. It is a very time consuming and beautiful art. This piece was made using a combination of shuttle and needle tatting methods and represents over 20 hours of work.

This choker can be made to order. If you need a different size, please tell me in the notes to seller and allow 2 weeks for delivery. If you have any questions or requests, please convo me.

Thank you to AzhuresJewels and Design4u for helping me name this piece and everyone else who gave suggestions in the forums!

Knit with two different yarns, this scarf displays vertical stripes of soft burgandy acrylic yarn and sparkly burgandy yarn. This simplicity of the yarns make it perfect with jeans or glitz up for a night out.

Approximately 6'4" by 4 1/2", this scarf is perfect for layering. The simple stitch allows the yarn to tell the story of this scarf.

Knit with two different yarns, this scarf displays vertical stripes of mauve and varigated colors with a little bit of sparkle.

Approximately 7'4" by 4", this scarf is perfect for layering. It can simply sit across your shoulders on chilly days or be wrapped multiple times around your neck when Jack Frost is at his worst.

Usually, I'm not a fan of sparkly yarns as they tend to feel scratchy against the skin, but the softness of the mauve yarn, overwhelms any scratchy texture in the sparkly multicolored yarn.

There are so many colors in this scarf it can go with just about anything! The vibrant colors will keep you cheery during the bleakest of winters.

Or maybe it's just a conversation piece. Who's to say?

This gorgeous necklace is an original hand-tatted design. It is the result of over 25 hours of work tying every little knot. The focal point of this piece is a tiny glass bottle. The necklace measures approximately 18" and has a silver-tone toggle clasp. It is worked in DMC tatting thread size 80 (about the thickness of ordinary sewing thread, but much stronger).

This is an original pattern born from experimentation.

Tatting is a method of making lace dating back to the time of Elizabeth I. He lurks in the shadows and watches for people commiting sinister deeds. He loves to read Hercule Poirot novels and was very annoyed to be ripped away from one and taken into the bright daylight to pose for a picture. Luckily, he indulged me nonetheless.

If you enjoy mysteries and quiet reading time, Hoodunit would love to take a place on your bookshelf.

Hoodunit is completely sewn by hand. He was made from a clean recycled sock, rescued from a thrift store. He "stands" (leans is a more appropriate word, I suppose) approximately 11" tall.

Thank you to beesquarefabrics for giving a suggested name for this sockling on my blog.
