This vintage pair of clear "Soft-lite" non-prescription, corrective eyeglasses are an early form of invisible bifocal reading glasses. There is with an almost invisible round magnifying section in the middle bottom of each lens. Meant for a lady as there is a delicate engraved tracing on the nose bridge and all around the metal rims of the lens. The sides are flexible and contour around the ears.

The width of each lens is 1 1/2" and the same at the widest part.

Complete with a dark plaid plastic case (with A.J. Freiman, Ottawa, label inside), lens cleaning cloth (with printed advertisement for A.J. Freiman) and two round Crosse & Blackwell tokens (redeemable for silverware, etc.).

A wonderful Christmas gift idea. This charming Heart Brooch in a blue and maroon wooden display frame was created by Ivan Barnett, one of America's foremost folk artists. The 1-3/4" brooch is made of tin and painted in blue and maroon. It is contained in a display frame that is hinged and can be opened. The back of the frame is in black velvet to better show off the brooch.

The frame can be wall hung or placed on a desk. The hinged side closure enables you to remove the brooch for wearing.

Frame dimensions: 5-1/2" square by 1-3/4" deep. In excellent condition.

Charming book of French children's songs (in French) used in French schools to teach music and singing. Familiar songs such as Au clair de la lune, Frere Jacques, Le pont d'Avignon are included.

The cover is grey decorated with tiny white flowers with red centres and a large gilded flower. It is beautifully illustrated inside and in very good condition with slight browning to the edges of the pages. This is the original 1900 publication. An ex-libris plate shows the owners as being Robert et Helene Foure.

Upcycled recycled Vintage Monogrammed Handkerchief lampshade

This beautiful lampshade is recovered with an embroidered linen handkerchief. The initial is 'E' and belonged to a young soldier. It was embroidered by his Scottish granny before he left to serve in India.

I found it in an old attic trunk.

The shade measures:

Top diameter: 8 cm (3")
Bottom diameter: 13 cm (5")
Height: 10 cm (4")

The shade fits over a type G, 40 Watt bulb. You can purchase the bulb with a conventional sized neck or a narrow one (see photo).

This neat little item is a grocery list reminder made by 'REDDILIST' as shown on the top. This reminder would hang in your kitchen and the plastic tabs inserted would be a reminders of what you needed to buy. This was the 50s and everything that women needed to lighten their burden was developed -- including packaged food.

Please note that some of the inserts are missing as shown but it is still a great collectible.

Vintage handmade crochet lace edging - two pieces

These two pieces of handmade crochet lace edging probably once decorated the edge of a pillowcase, ca 1930s. Both are cream in color and in excellent condition.

You can use these pieces to edge another pillowcase, a curtain, a Roman blind, hand towel, or your baby's blanket.

If you crochet you could join the two pieces to make a longer one.

Small piece measures 20" long x 2-1/2" wide
Large piece measures 52" long x 2-1/2" wide

Vintage Handmde Crocheted Lace

If you love vintage lace, you will love this very fine work (the person making it must have used the tiniest crochet hook!). Use it to decorate the bottom of a Roaan blind, curtain, or edge a pillow, guest towel, apron, or your little baby's blanket.

Upcycled recycled antique monogrammed MP linen lampshade

This beautiful lampshade is made by recycling an linen damask napkin that I bought at a flea market in Paris.

It is embroidered with the initials 'MP' and was
hand-stitched by probably French nuns as they usually monogrammed the dowry linens for 19th century brides (and still do). It will add instant romance to any room.

I used vintage trim to finish the shade. Because the linen napkin is over 100 years old, it does have one small patch and some discolouration.

The measurements are:

Top diameter: 7.5 cm (3")
Bottom diameter: 17.5 cm (6.1/2")
Height: 11 cm (4 1/2")

Lingerie Bag Light Blue Silk

This is a lovely, sensual, ca. 1930s silk lingerie bag.

It measures 20 inches by 13 inches and fastens with an old fashioned snap covered by a blue an mauve pompom ending in a pretty tassel.

The color shown in photo is not exact. It is a pretty shade of pale blue. A pretty gift idea.

Vintage Silver-plated Salt Cellar and Pepper Shaker Set

This vintage footed silver-plated salt cellar and pepper shaker set ca 1900 was purchased at London’s Bermondsey Market in the 1980s. The salt cellar is rectangular in form having a pronounced decorative rim and still has the original cobalt blue glass liner. The cellar sits on four lion’s paw feet and is marked on the underside “Silver on copper. Made in England.”

The pepper shaker has a waisted-bottle shape with the body resting on 4 lion’s paw feet identical to those on the salt cellar.

It is the perfect gift for the newly married couple or for that person who likes to entertain.

Condition: Very good, vintage. The inside bowl of the salt cellar is slightly pitted (see photo).

Size: Cellar 4-1/4”cx 3-1/2”, Pepper 4” high
