As a British expatriate, my house is most definitely my castle. Your house can be palatial as well with these splendid British structures, so noble and imposing and yet small enough to fit on your coffee table with room to spare. Your friends will be consumed with envy. Also a perfect gift for your Anglophile acquaintances.

These are not your cheap dollar store matchboxes. Extra-length matches (approx 5cm/just under 2") feature bright white tips in an elegant prism-shaped box. The two upper facets depict the structure, leaving the third as a generous striking surface.

This set of matchboxes features three of my favorite structures in the mother country: Battersea Power Station in London, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, and Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain. All photographs taken and jazzed up by me. If you are interested in learning more about these amazing structures, send me a convo and I can provide you with some excellent links.

It’s happened to all of us—that awkward moment when a friend or partner (or even ourselves) gets a shifty look and we know that the local air quality is, shall we say, threatened? Whenever the man of the house shifts in his seat and clears his throat in a meaningful way, I know that a cover-up is in the works. Alas—if only it really covered things up! But as we all know, local air pollution soon becomes global air pollution. Short of evacuating the building, there is little to be done.

As a British expatriate, my house is most definitely my castle. Your house can be palatial as well with these splendid British structures, so noble and imposing and yet small enough to fit on your coffee table with room to spare. Your friends will be consumed with envy. Also a perfect gift for your Anglophile acquaintances.

These are not your cheap dollar store matchboxes. Extra-length matches (approx 5cm/just under 2") feature bright white tips in an elegant prism-shaped box. The two upper facets depict the structure, leaving the third as a generous striking surface.

This set of matchboxes features three of my favorite bridges in the mother country: Clifton Suspension bridge over the Avon Gorge, Albert Bridge crosses the River Thames between Chelsea and Battersea, and Silver Jubilee bridge spans the River Mersey. It’s happened to all of us—that awkward moment when a friend or partner (or even ourselves) gets a shifty look and we know that the local air quality is, shall we say, threatened? Whenever the man of the house shifts in his seat and clears his throat in a meaningful way, I know that a cover-up is in the works. Alas—if only it really covered things up! But as we all know, local air pollution soon becomes global air pollution. Short of evacuating the building, there is little to be done.
