I have always associated Rubies with love, passion and power. To me the reason is obvious. It’s the rich, opulent Red of the stone. It radiates warmth and a strong sense of vitality. To me, in the fascinating world of gemstones, the ruby is the undisputed ruler. Some rubies can be more expensive than a diamond of the same carat.

For thousands of years, the ruby has been considered one of the most valuable gemstones on Earth. It has everything a precious stone should have: magnificent color, excellent hardness and outstanding silky shine. In addition to that, it is a rare gemstone, especially in its finer qualities. These are “pigeon blood red” Burmese Rubies. One of the most highly valued colors.

This combination of sexy stones and very organic Hill Tribe is such a unique combination. I was actually surprised how much I like them together.

These stones range in size from 4-6mm, with the stones getting slightly larger toward the center.

The bracelet also has very unique, sterling Oriental motif beads at the ends and as a dangle.

The clasp is a sterling, floral stylized toggle. I also have a matching necklace in my store. The bracelet measures 7 ¾ inches.

This is a new design in my dreams series. I have used AAA amazing quality, cushion (also called pillow) faceted Multi Tourmaline (average 3.5 x 5mm). I love this cut, it is sweet and simply elegant. This bracelet has a total of 9 inches of stones in the design. I love this three-strand style.

I have used a sterling, VERY finely detailed dragonfly clasp in this piece. You also have sterling lotus (9mm) beads on the ends.

The backs of the three strands have small sterling faceted hill tribe silver beads.

The dangle boasts a 18.5 x 10mm (nice large size) Watermelon Tourmaline slice (rare and becoming even more so). This slice alone would sell for over $20 in most gem stores.

I have finally added my sterling “M” signature oval on the dangle.

A Cottonwood’s Splendor

I am so ready for Fall! I love the color of the Fall leaves. I think this one is just spectacular. I love the idea of using a real leaf. This one in particular is a Cottonwood. The leaf has been Electroplated with 24K gold then treated with iridescent warm rose for this spectacular fall color…

For the chain, I have used 45 inches of 14K gold filled chain (three strands), a the back are two fantastic boro beads with shades of red and coppers… the beads also have 24K gold in them (check out the closeup). I have added 14K gold filled beadcaps on the boro beads and Swarovski Crystal.

The leaf has a very nice 10mm Sunstone (just look at the closeup) briolette. I am in love with good quality Sunstone. The brio has a wonderful gold shimmer in it.

I have used several Swarovski dangles, hand wrapped and added to a 14K gold ring along with my signature 14K gold filled “M” round..

The stylized toggle is 24K Gold Vermeil (vermeil is multi-layers of 24K gold over a sterling silver core). I have used this supplier for Vermeil for years. I never have any problem with wear, whatsoever. It is the best quality Vermeil you can buy.

I designed this necklace to wear the way I like to wear mine. Sort of an asymmetrical way. I like to pull the back toward the front, on one side.. it is a fun and unique way to wear them. This is why I started designing my necklaces with so much work at the back.

The necklace measures 17 ½ inches.

Another design in my “Mermaid Ball” line.. Sweet, delicate and ultra feminine, this piece is an eye catcher, and one of my LuxeLovlies little indulgences.. a line that is a little more minimalist, so to be more affordable, but also as you would expect, only the VERY best quality for your hard earned cash!

I have hand wrapped (on sterling silver wire) gemstone branches (just see the close-up) of Aquamarine, Peridot, Prehnite and Apatite. The stylized starfish is one of my very favorite Bali sterling designs.

I have used two strands of sterling chain. They are hand wrapped, in the back (with sterling silver wire) to a very sweet sterling toggle clasp.

You have a nice jumble of additional gemstones as well on the back dangle, also hand wrapped with sterling wire. They are attached to a sterling closed ring.

I like to design my pieces so that when (and you just can’t help it) the clasp starts to gravitate to the front.. all the better.. because the back is very special too!

This necklace measures just shy of 19 ½ inches.

A delicate even magical combination of pristine, mouthwateringly sweet, Watermelon and Multi Tourmaline gems! A feminine, dreamy adornment. – beautiful if I may say so myself.

This necklace (coordinating earrings available in store) is featured in a brand new magazine out of Syndey titled “Australian Beading”.

(magazines are available stateside – Books-a-million, Barnes & Noble etc) Sept. edition. I have designs in their October issue as well.

This necklace has multi layers of gold filled ringlet chain (10mm ringlets). I love the three strands together, it has a beautiful presence and nice movement. It feels very sexy on.

The focal is a 22mm -24K gold vermeil nautilus shell. I have hand wrapped (on 14k GF wire) a profusion of gems (Citrine, Green Tourmaline, Pink Tourmaline, and Watermelon Tourmaline), that sit above the nautilus.

Three varied lengths of chain hang below the Nautilus.. these are embellished with pink and green and Tourmaline slices, a Watermelon Tourmaline slice plus a few additional Tourmaline gems, as well with Lemon Quartz puffed kite shape gemstones (11 X 10mm). You also have a 16mm Golden Shadow Swarovski starfish crystal and a 14mm gold vermeil nautilus shell.

Measurement around the neck is 16 inches. The dangles hang an additional 6 inches.

The back of the necklace features two 15mm –24K gold vermeil starfish and a 24K gold vermeil toggle. The dangle features Pink, Black and Green Tourmaline and a 10mm kite faceted puffed Lemon Quartz and my gold filled signature “M”.

Belle’s SeaGarden Bracelet..

This new piece is from my Beach Babe Series and was recently featured in Belle Armoire. ~(I had another piece on the cover)~

I looked forever to find this amazing Amazonite. It is multi-faceted.. and the Facets are fine. It has very slight inclusions and it the loveliest shade of aqua. They are 10mm rounds. I have snuggled them with sterling silver urchin style bead caps.

The focal is a wonderful explosion of gemstones (Apatite, Peridot, Prehnite, Topaz & Aquamarine) and several sizes and shades of Swarovski crystal. All hand wrapped on my handmade fine silver headpins.

You have (2) large 20mm Bali Sterling silver starfish that rest beside the center profusion of dangles. The ends are 15mm Hill Tribe silver clamshells and the clasp is a very fun sterling silver fish clasp.

Your dangle is more gemstones and Swarovski and a stylized Hill Tribe silver swirl (nice size- 12 x 28mm). Finished off with my signature sterling silver “M” round. I have had Mystic Topaz madness for many years.
It’s an expensive stone but that never stopped my lust for them.

I planted two of my BEST hoarded gemstones in these babies for you.
These were designed with the upcoming holiday season in mind.

Nice fat LARGE teardrop brios that weigh 7.35 carats and 7.43 carats respectively, for a total carat weight of 14.78 carats. These cost around $23 each alone (they came off of a $350 strand). They are perfect and extremely dazzling.

I am usually pretty proud of my pix but these in NO way do the Mystic justice.

Everything you see here that is silver is Sterling, the wire I wrap with as well.

Another necklace in my Beach Heart Series - these pieces are made to order. This exact piece is sold. I do similar series pieces, each piece is unique in it's own right.

Dreamy, mesmerizing gemstones really bounce the light and are as stunning as glints on the ocean’s surface. I only use the VERY best gemstones in my work. Just check out the close ups!

The necklace is featured in the new beading magazine out of Sydney, "Australian Beading". It will be available stateside as well, at larger bookstores such as Barnes and Noble and Books a Million.

This piece features a fanciful Beach Heart by Mary Jarvis. The bead itself is a work of art. She even makes her own tiny Murini star’s for use in her beads, if you are into lampwork you know that is a big deal. The beads are beautiful and all one of a kind. She makes the beads so they are beautiful from either side. The BeachHeart measures 39 x 27mm.

I have used over 50 hand wrapped gemstone, Swarovski and sterling charms around the BeachHeart focal.
As you move around the necklace you then have a 12mm faceted Amazonite round, and a 10mm Amazonite round both with sterling beadcaps. You then have a Hill Tribe silver stylized shell cone and a Swarovski bicone. I have used two strands of sterling ring ring chain, this chain is so cool, it has lots of movement and is very visually appealing.

Toward the back of the necklace you come to a 15mm Hill Tribe scallop shell and then a 10mm Swarovski bicone. I have finished the necklace with my VERY favorite clasp. It is a fun swirl shape.

The back of the necklace is embellished with a Hill Tribe spiral pendant (26mm) several other gems and Swarovski, a sterling seashell charm and my signature sterling “M” round.

Ritzy Glitz Crystal and Sterling Lariat - Cary Martin Designs

Glitzy and Ritzy this lariat is laden with shimmering crystals and sterling silver. I designed this for this Spring’s Proms and Weddings. I am not sure I got it up in time for Proms? If you do need quick shipping I can ship up to over night for what ever USPS.com charges for overnight.

I have used two antique (1930’s I was told by supplier) Swarovski medium vitrail 20mm pointer crystals. These are my last two.. I have truly loved using these!

They are snuggled inside incredibly detailed sterling silver swirl embossed cones. They are then topped with a 14mm Swarovski Comet Argent Margarita crystal followed by a sterling lotus flower bead. On top of the lotus flower sits a 5mm sterling disco ball bead. The dangles are hand wrapped on sterling silver wire.

Above this drop is an 8mm vitrail Swarovski rondelle crystal that leads upward to the lariat beadwork. I have used vitrail firepolish AB crystals (3mm) in the body of the lariat. Evenly spaced thru the lariat are additional sterling lotus beads, snuggled with 6mm vitrail Swarovski margaritas and 4mm sterling disco ball beads.

I always use the very best sterling tornado crimps. These are strong and have ridges that really grab onto the wire. I have never had a lariat break using these. The lariat is strung on 84 strand beadalon.

43.5 inches long.. it can be wrapped twice around your neck or you can wear it very long (they way I love to wear my lariats) they make you look long and lean and what woman does not want that! Some ladies even use them as belts.

Flashy, sweet and innocent. Beautiful Rainbow Moonstone snuggles with Hill Tribe silver and glowing pearls.

I love this combination. This Rainbow Moonstone focal is a stunning and amazing quality piece (just look at the blue flash of luminescence on the close up pix).. .. It is a large, 24 x 18mm, very nicely faceted teardrop briolette.

I have added additional Moonstone gems in a couple of different cuts and various sized of creamy white pearls.

You have many different styles of Hill Tribe silver (99% pure silver, more pure than sterling) beads in this piece. I have added a Bali sterling star as a tiny dangle on the piece.

The necklace is adjustable from 17 ½ to 20 inches.

Storm Surge... Boro Lampwork and Sterling Bracelet.... Cary Martin Designs

The boro beads in this piece remind me of the sea as it churns right before a storm, with their shades of blue, green and gray. Amazing boro lampwork by Cory Walker. I have held onto these for a year.. just waiting for the inspiration I needed to finally let them go. I absolutely LOVE them.

I used sterling wave embossed beads as a companion for the boro. The lampwork measures 9 x 16mm average.. The sterling center wave rounded disc bead measures 16 x 9mm.

I have used brushed sterling 5 x 8mm rondelles as well as 3mm stardust rounds for the spacers.

The lampwork is snuggled with slim sterling caps that really let the boro beads stand out and take center stage.

The clasp is one of my very favorite sterling swirl designs.

For the dangle I have used a large aqua Chalcedony faceted briolette and a coordinating 8mm sterling wave bead. The dangle is finished off with a signature “M” sterling oval.

This bracelet measures 8 inches.

Tranquil sea shaded gems glimmer as if just washed ashore from a mythical sea.

Clusters of cool gems adorn both sides of this new bracelet from my Mermaid Ball collection.

The gems include Chalcedony (aqua and also a light blue), Apatite, Topaz and Peridot. I have also added Swarovski crystals and Capri blue CZ briolettes. Each cluster also features two antique (1920’s) very rare 6mm side drilled Swarovski rivolis. Yhese crystals flash red, blue, green and gold.

All gems and crystals are hand wrapped on sterling wire or sit on my hand made fine silver headpins. They are wrapped on sterling silver circles.

I have used a double length of sterling oval chain and a sterling double strand pearl clasp.

Juicy, extreme color in this piece. Some of the lampwork look like little candies you just want to pop in your mouth. Vibrant and fun hues that almost glow.

I have used Boro from my fav. boro lampwork artists. It is jaw dropping, each a piece of artwork in itself. I have used a heavy sterling silver chain (10 gage) for the bracelet. I have added in sterling discs in several sizes.. the largest in the center measures 30mm. you have various sizes and styles of sterling Bali beadcaps on the boro lampwork. I have added square genuine peacock pearls that are amazing vibrant colors. Each is on one of my hand made fine silver headpins and tipped with a Swarovski crystal.

You have Amethyst briolettes that are handwrapped on sterling silver wire and large 10mm White Topaz roundelles that are topped with genuine silver hued pearls. These also are on my handmade fine silver headpins.

One of the really wonderful things about this bracelet in my opinion is the small 6mm antique (1920’s and very rare) side drilled deep vitrail Swarovski rivoli crystals. I have stacked three on each headpin and scattered them through the bracelet for extra, EXTRA bling!!

The clasp is a sterling toggle and I have added a signature “M” stamped star at one end. Bracelet measures 8” and because of the large beads, really fits more like a 7 ½”.

This is a showstopper, a serious conversation piece and not for the timid. It is heavy and chunky and just fabulous.

Sea-swept jeweled adornment, opulence fit for the mermaid princess in you!

Over 200 dangles on sterling headpins, handwrapped on sterling wire. A profusion of gemstones, Swarovski crystal and silver Hill tribe beads. This is one of my Mermaid Ball designs. The most time consuming design I do. These take me an entire 8 hour day.

Each dangle is hand selected, I don’t just do a soup of beads and pick indiscriminately. I look at each bead compared to the beads it will be next to when I choose each dangle, just to get the right look.

Gemstones include Aquamarine, Blue Topaz, Apatite, Chalcedony, Peridot and White Topaz. You also have several style and sizes of Swarovski crystal in shades of the sea. Many of the dangles are tipped with a 2mm sterling round for even more bling.

The focal is a 40 mm, 99% pure silver, Hill Tribe starfish. Additional Hill Tribe starfishes are added on each side. Necklace also features 2, 14mm silver, again, Hill Tribe is 99% pure silver! Hill Tribe nautilus shells.

The back of the necklace features large 8 x 10mm Blue Topaz rondelles. Each one snuggled with a hand cut lime green crystal and a sterling daisy spacer is added to each end. Each link is wrapped on sterling silver wire. The clasp is a 22mm sunburst style sterling toggle.

I love this combination. This Rainbow Moonstone focal is stunning (just look at the blue flash of luminescence on the close up pix).. . the Moonstone focal is just beautiful. It is a large, 24 x 18mm, very nicely faceted AAA teardrop briolette.

I have added additional Moonstone in a couple of different cuts and various sized of creamy white pearls. You have many different styles of Hill Tribe silver (99% pure silver, more pure than sterling) beads in this piece. I have added a Bali sterling star as a tiny dangle on the side.

This is in the Crystal Satin shade.. I love this shimmery silver gray.. I think it’s one of their most sophisticated shades.

The crystal didn’t need much, as they are so spectacular on their own! Just a couple of little stars did the trick for me. An Amethyst crystal star and a Bali sterling star.

I have used nice heavy sterling chain and Bali sterling beads at the back.

Necklace has a sturdy figure 8 clasp that can be attached to any link on the chain.

This boro lampwork bracelet couldn’t be anything but spectacular, because I have used beads that are created by all three of my most cherished lampwork artists!

Over the course of a couple of days I made several coordinating pieces. Intended to be sort of a series. A few can be seen in my store and others are in the making as well.

This necklace features a strand of 14K gold filled chain with a wonderful fall of gemstones (Peach Moonstone, Carnelian, Citrine and Vasonite. The gems range from 13mm to 5mm. The embellished strands of gold chain fall from a 1” (26mm) 24K Gold Vermeil (my vermeil is 24kt gold over sterling) Hill Tribe starfish and are attached with 14K gold filled wire wrap or gold filled headpins.

The chain is a very nice flat curb (7 x 5mm links). I really like to use the flat link curb because the chain REALLY catches the light.

The clasp is a 24K gold Vermeil toggle (13mm). The ends of the chain feature two additional 24k Gold Vermeil Hill Tribe starfish (13mm) hand wrapped with 14K gold filled wire. The dangle consists of additional gemstones, a 11 mm 25K Gold Vermeil Hill Tribe Nautilus shell and my 14K gold filled signature “M” round.

Neck chain measures 26 inches and the Vermeil starfish/gem embellished dangle falls an additional 5 inches. Below is a picture with one of the additional necklaces in the series.

Re: My Gold filled chain 14K gold-filled metal is an updated process, not like years past… It is permanent, not a bonding. This is much more durable and lasting than the industry standard gold vermeil or plating. I use only 14/20 Gold Filled. The gold will never turn, it will not rub off or chip off with wear and tear. It is more affordable than 14K and will last just as long. It is also more durable (harder) that 14K. It will always look as good as the day you got it.

I absolutely love this stone. There is an interesting story behind these. 7 years ago I went to my first major gemshow, here in Orlando the “Gem and Lapidary Wholesalers” show. It was amazing, the show is HUGE! At the time I didn’t use many gemstones in my work.. I was mainly into Bali Silver and Lampwork. My mother talked me into going the show with her and my hubbie came along to carry all our booty.

My hubbie LOVED this Chrysocolla (often mistaken for Turquoise), and walked by the table many times.. at the time I was not that particularly drawn to it but he really liked it so I bought three strands of it thinking I would make him a bracelet out of it and maybe a necklace for myself.

When I went home and read about the stone, I realized why he was so drawn to it!!! I was so glad I picked it up! (see metaphysical properties below).

When I put a bracelet together with some Hill Tribe silver I had bought at the show.. it was love at first site.. I can’t really describe the feeling in my heart. It felt somewhat “opened” and I have hoarded the three stands… I have slowly used two of them up over the years and this is the last piece to be made of them, we are keeping the last strand.

It is a simple (design wise) piece for me. I used Hill Tribe flat flowers as the spacers. And a Hill Tribe silver toggle that I think goes perfect with the flowers. I think the design has a very southwest feel.

This one features bad ass deep cobalt with bright rainbow dichroic fused glass beads.

Fun and a little on the wild side. These are the amazing Aborigine lampwork by BJ Canerday (my mom!). A few designs with these beads are featured in the St. Pete Fine Arts Museum.

These lampwork are limited addition.. I don’t believe she will be making any more. I love the look of these. She uses lots of embellishment and layers, some beads are encased then have more details applied to the clear layer. You have flat discs, a ruffle disc as well. The are very unique, tactile and funky.

I used simple sterling flat disc caps on some of the lampwork, to let the beads take center stage.. I like these simple, understated caps and use them often on very special lampwork.

I have added sterling “ring ring” chain and a Hill Tribe silver clasp at the back. This is exquisite, substantial chain -just look at the closeup.

This necklace measures 21 ½ inches in this state. I actually wanted to make a 16 inch necklace as I think the necklace looks better when the beads lie closer to the throat, but then realized if anyone wanted a longer necklace I could not make the necklace longer, because of the nature of the chain.. so I used a longer length and will size it up to 16” if you like, or keep it longer if you prefer.

For the dangle detail, I used an Aborigine style sterling bead and I have used my sterling silver “M” oval disc as well.

The beads measure from 21 x 5mm for discs to 18 x 13mm for the center bead and down to 8 x 12mm for outside beads. The Hill Tribe clasp measures 40 x 22mm and is about 3.5mm thick.

This was such a fun bracelet to make. It has a wealth of goodies on it! I have used three shades of amazing AA grade gemstone quality Chalcedony briolettes.. a very nice blue, and two stades of aqua, hand wrapped on sterling wire.

You also have handmade lampwork floral beads capped in Sterling Bali bead caps,several sizes of Swarovski crystal, Czech glass leaves and flowers, lovely light blue carved fiber optic cats’ eye flowers on ornate sterling headpins and genuine Topaz 10mm faceted rondels.

I have added large Sterling flowers as spacers along the bracelet and added one on the dangle detail with more Swarovski and my signature “M” sterling round.

It is hand-strung on very strong, 49 strand Beadalon wire and finished with the VERY best Murano Tornado crimps and a strong sterling lobster clasp for security!

It is a weighty, very substantial bracelet that measures 8 inches, but because of the vast amount of beadies on it, fits a 7” wrist well.. with a little play for movement. If you like your bracelets tight, please contact me and I can take a bit of the length out if you prefer.

Autumns Splendor AAA Sunstone and 24K Dipped Oak Leaf 14K GF Chain

I am so ready for Fall! I love the color of the Fall leaves.

I think this one represents well.. and it is just spectacular in hand. I love the idea of using a real leaf in the process to make these beautiful pendants.

This one in particular is a pin oak leaf. The leaf has been Electroplated with 24K gold then treated with iridescent warm rose for this spectacular fall color…

For the chain, I have used 2 strands of 14K gold filled chain, a the back are Swarovski crystal beads with shades of rust, chilipepper and copper… the crystals have gold filled spacers between them (check out the closeup). I have used 14K gold filled wire and/or headpins throughout this design.

The leaf has a fantastic 11 mm AAA Grade Sunstone briolette (just look at the closeup). I am in love with good quality Sunstone. It is just brilliant. The brio has a wonderful gold shimmer in it. You also have a couple of Swarovski crystals that adorn the leaf as well.

I have used several Swarovski dangles, at the back, hand wrapped and added along with my signature 14K gold filled “M” round..

The stylized floral toggle is 24K Gold Vermeil (vermeil is multi-layers of 24K gold over a sterling silver core). I have used this supplier for Vermeil for years. I never have any problem with wear, whatsoever. It is the best quality Vermeil you can buy.

I designed this necklace to wear the way I like to wear mine. Sort of an asymmetrical way. I like to pull the back toward the front, on one side.. (see example shot on bust. Of course you can always wear it with the goodies at the back.. but I love to design this way, because doesn’t the clasp always works it’s way around front anyway!?

This is why I started designing my necklaces with so much work at the back.

The necklace (chain part) measures 20 -¼ inches. Leaf pendant hangs an additional 2 -3/8 inches.

Each of my pieces comes gift boxed. I use vibrant green foil embossed gift boxes, purple curled ribbon and a special touch that is my secret. Black, Grey, Silver and Crystal clear Swarovski crystals hand wrapped (with sterling wire) into links. Necklace can be worn shorter (see pix) by wrapping around neck twice.

I like to wear mine wrapped twice with the back of the necklace brought to the front, on the side (the back always ends up in the front anyway!) this is why I always embellish the back of my pieces also.

Crystal briolette on the end measures 40mm x 10mm. The wrapped link focal drop and the back feature a 12mm Swarovski hematite crystal round drop and my signature sterling silver “M” dangle at the back as well.

Necklace measures 31 inches (chain part). Wrapped link pendant hangs an additional 4 5/8 inches.
