This is an original work of art. The piece is a drawing done on archival art paper that climbs on the mat and frame of the piece. In fact, very little of the work exists on anything but the framing. The work was created in 06' and was part of an installation piece. This is the first time the work is available for purchase.

The piece was created to hang without a glass cover - unlike traditional works. If you chose to add glass you can, but you are on your own since it will not arrive with any. This particular piece, has been made using a recycled frame (from a thrift shop) .. in this work - as most of mine there are irregularities which are intentional. The work is framed and ready to hang.

the mat on this piece is a light cream color....

This is a small drawing measuring aprox. 5 3/4" wide and 5" high. It is drawn with an ebony pencil on archival bristol paper.

This drawing began with a soda can and I turned it into something living. It seems to me that all soda cans should sprout legs and walk..... I love to work with my ebony pencil and my kneaded eraser ... I erase on my dawings as much as I add the pencil - I love the values that are created uing the two.

I am influenced by the surrealist artists such as Dorothea Tanning as well as childrens illustration. I love what something ordinary can turn into and how the viewers imagination can be as much a part of the work as the actual piece....

This drawing is unframed and will be packed well to assure a safe arrival to you. I send my drawings priority to ensure a short shipping time and will mail 2 days after the payment has cleared.

This is an orginal and NOT a print.

This particular piece is part of an ongoing series I am doing with very inventive and organic type imagery...in this series I begin with an ordinary object and build upon it and morph until it is no longer ordinary. This piece, and the others in it, are like small glimpses into an imaginary world. I won't explain what I was thinking when I made this piece - my goal is for you to find your own explanation...in fact, I leave the titles open ended so that that you may be able to take part in the work..

The title of this piece is "They floated and waited for the.." ... what do you see in this piece - what does it mean to you? I began this piece while looking at a happy meal box in my studio and listening to NPR's coverage of Katrina.

This particular piece has been shown once in a museum in Memphis, TN and - but now it wants to find a permanent home....

The size is 24" high by 18" across... the perfect size for hanging in your living room or den - but it will not be a good painting for your car trunk.. my work lookd horrible in car trunks.

I have work hanging in various places like rich art collectors homes, university offices, people in New York and Georgia and some other places. So know you are in good company when you buy this piece.....

I won't explain what I was thinking when I made this piece - my goal is for you to find your own explanation...in fact, I leave the titles open ended so that that you may be able to take part in the work..

The title of this piece is "In the beginning" ...I named it that becuase it was the beginning...

This is a mixed media piece made using both drawing and painting elements. The drawing is done with graphite on archival paper and using acrylic medium adhered to an acrylic painted board.
The image originally came from a combination of seeing cans of paint in my studio and dying leaves outside my window - I just took those things and this is what I came up with. In much of my work there is a cast shadow with an image not fitting th object casting it such as this piece.
This piece measures aproximately 16 by 20 inches and is unframed.

"Sometimes I understand them so well..." is the title of this piece.

This drawing began with straws and I turned it into something living. It seems to me that all straws should be alive (especially the bendy kind)..... This is a mixed media piece and is an original - not a print! It is both a drawing and a painting. The piece was created using pen, paper, acrylic on board. It is hard to tell from the image, but it has a nice texture to the surface. It is unframed.

This is a part of a series I have been working on over the last year and a half involving cabins and mobile homes. I was inspired by the various cabins in the Smoky Mountains where I lived for over a year. I feel an intense need to put them on legs since I have been interested in the sprawling nature of our society.

The cabin is a drawing using my favorite ebony pencil on high quality - archival artist paper. It has been attached to board with acrylic paint applied. It is unframed and the dimensions are 8" by 10".

This is part of a series of cabins and mobile homes that I have been working on for over a year. It is a melting of the nature and homes I saw while living in the Smoky Mountains.

This piece is 5" by 5" and is on an unframed board. The cabin is drawn using my favorite ebondy pencil and the color is applied with acrylic paint. This is an original piece.

This is a mixed media piece I created in late 2007. The work is a mixture of a drawing and a painting. The drawing portion - the little creature - is pen and ink. The rest is done in acrylic paint on board. I am leaving the piece unframed to allow the buyer choose the frame. The piece is 8" by 10".

Originally, I left this piece untitled. It took me awhile, but I have now decided to title it. Ta da! It is now called
