My mom and dad grew a nice crop of broom corn this year!!! These bundles stay nice for many many years........... keeping their color and seeds! It is bundled together with multiple colors of dark red, lighter red and tan for a very nice primitive look. This looks great hanging from a beam, the peg of a shelf, over a fireplace or just laying in your favorite dough riser or old bowl! Can also be used in your crafts.... it looks great with Sweet Annie. I have some stuck in the cat pocket which is listed here in my Etsy shop. The bundles average 20" in length.

What is broom corn you ask?!?! Broom makers use the stems after the seeds are removed to make brooms! A very old craft and still used today! The primitive lover likes to use it as a display! It is so hard to capture its beauty in the pictures! You won't be dissapointed!

Old Barnwood Hanger

I cut an old peice of barn wood to measure 10 1/2" by 6" and added a nice nubby old looking cast iron hook. I sanded the edges for a nice finish. Hanging from the hook is a nice bundle of broom corn which will last for years to come! My mom and dad grow the broom corn and this years crop was soooooooooo nice!!! I've tied it with with a nice green, red, blue and tan checked homespun. It hangs with a rusted wire hanger.

An antique cutter quilt stains up very nicely to create a nice time worn pocket! The actual pocket measures 6" by almost 5" and with the rusted wire hanger and Sweet Annie it totals around 12" tall. Looks great hanging from a knob of a cupboard or a peg on a shelf. Also stuck in the pouch you will find some real dried berries............not sure if they are wild rosehips or what they call Winterberries but they look great! It comes with a primitive tag attached that reads "Sweet Annie"!

Primitive Cupboard Buttermilk

This is one of my favorite cupboards that my husband makes for my shows. The outside measures 18" wide by 20" long by 6" deep. He used 3/8" wood to construct it and the back is tongue and grooved for a nice old look. I have stained the inside with dark walnut and the shelves are a little over 7" to give you space for displaying your favorite prims. I have painted it a nice buttermilk color over black, sanded and stained it for a well worn look.

I had to make some cats to go with all the mice! This one stands about 11" tall and sports a nice old piece of quilt for a pocket which I have filled with Sweet Annie and Broom Corn. Around his neck you will find a piece of green/blue/red checked homespun. His eyes are hand stitched and his nose has been pinced stitched. It has been coffee/vanilla stained for that nice primitive well worn look! Pattern designed by Tenneessee Ridge Primitives!

Primitive Harvest Mouse

Another mouse is in the house!!! I created this one using a pattern from Soft In The Head. He stands 7" tall on a coffee stained fabric pumpkin which is mounted in a zinc lid. The mouse is made from stained osnaburg and has hand stitched eyes and a nose. Around his neck he sports a rusted wire necklace with a bell. Check out those wire legs and tail! In his hands he holds a piece of candy corn which I made from fabric and painted.

Sitting proudly on his red checked homespun tuff you will find this 7" mouse holding his candy cane. The tuff is mounted into an antique zinc lid to hold him firmly. He wears a fabric made Santa hat which is painted red with a Warm N Natural trim. Arms and legs are made from rusted wire and the candy cane is made from red and white Sculpey. His eyes and nose are stitched with embroidery floss and he has some whiskers. Around his neck I have placed a tiny rusted bell.
I adapted the Harvest Mouse pattern by Soft in the Head to create this Santa mouse.

Made from 100% black wool and lined with a nice black homepun with matching strap. The actual pouch size is 3 1/2" by 5 3/4" with a 18" inch strap. The snowman with a star and snowflake was designed by me and appliqued with off white, mustard and orange wool. The tongues across the bottom are black with embroidered snowflakes and the button hole stitch around the edge like the top of the pouch which attaches the two pieces together.

Today's new cameras and cell phones fit nicely inside. What better way to protect your camera while traveling and have it at your fingertips. Also, a great place for vendors to hold business cards in while doing a show or shoppers to place cards in they have been collecting! Angelica“ measures 12“ and wears the cutiest little tattered and torn dress made from a nice eggshell blue fabric with tiny stars. Attached to her left hand is a small 3 1/2“ fabric star which I made from osnaburg, stitched the word “Believe“ and painted it mustard. Her face is hand stitched with a pinched nose and her hair is made from jute which I’ve painted a reddish brown. Legs are painted with a deep red stripe and she wears bloomers made of osnaburg. Finished off with a coffee/vanilla stain for a nice primitive well worn look.

I’ve combined applique and stitching to create this 5“ by 7“ primitive pillow using a doodle by Twigs. The tree is stitched with green floss, has red berries on each branch and a mustard star on top. The snowman head is a piece of off white wool with an orange nose and black stitched eyes and mouth. The words "Snowy Christmas" is stitched at the bottom. For the backing I used a nice mustard, red and black homespun and the whole pillow has been coffee/vanilla stained for that nice primitive look.

This is an all time favorite 12“ primitive star nodder or make-do which I made from coffee/vanilla stained osnaburg. On the pocket I stitched the word “Christmas Blessings“ and filled it with Sweet Annie and Broom Corn. It stands firmly in the spring and has a red and green homepsun tie around the base. I do make custom orders with any words you would like stitched onto the pocket. Depending how your Christmas tree top is made you can possibly use it for a tree topper. The bottom diameter of the spring is about 4 1/2“.

This little 6“ snowman has been working hard! All tuckered out from using his stick broom which was created with raffie, wire and a twig. I’ve made him out of coffee/vanilla stained flannel with two rusty bells for buttons. His eyes are french knots made with black floss and his nose is a piece of twig which is stitched in place. Around his neck you will find a nice green and red homespun scarf. His top hat is made from black flannel. He does come with a loop in the back for hanging as an ornament or he looks great tucked in a cupboard on sitting on a shelf! I created this primitive looking snowman using a pattern by Stacey Mead.

"Mrs. Squashworth" measures about 22" from the top of her painted black fabric witch hat to the tip of her black painted boots. Her dress is made from a nice piece of deep burnt orange, black and tan checked homespun. Around her neck she is wearing a piece of candy corn which I made using fabric and paint. She is carrying a bag of fresh cut Sweet Annie. The bag has a wire handle and is made from fabric that has been painted black with a fabric banner that reads "Happy Halloween". She has a nice round pumpkin head with a hand painted face. The entire body has been painted burnt orange and then stained.

I attached a loop in the back so you can hang her on a door or a wall. She also sits nicely. Wouldn't she make a nice door greeter?

I used a pattern from Veena's Mercantile to create this doll!

I created this Fall/Halloween decoration using a pattern by Donna Veal of Moonchilds Primitives. Made from fabric which has been painted and stained for a nice prim look. A long and skinny red ticking stocking with a primitive mouse proudly holding his flag creates a festive summer treasure! My mom actually created the stocking using an old antique sock for the pattern. I designed the little mouse and fabric painted flag. The overall size from the top of the wire handle to the tip of the toe is almost 17". The mouse is made from fabric and I have stained him up nice an prim. Fabric ears, french knot eyes, rusted wire hands and cute little whiskers create this sneaky little guy! I have attached a rusted bell with a rusted pin to the top of the stocking also.

Here is a cute little 100% wool pillow in burnt orange depicting a black cat just in time for Halloween. I hand stitched it using a design by Becky Menges. It would work great as a pincushion too. The length is almost 7" and the height is 3 1/2". Everything is stitched on with a buttonhole stitch or straight stitch. The front and back are stitched together by hand and stuffed with polyfil.

I created this 100% wool pillow using a doodle design by Twigs. It measures 7 1/2" by 6". The background color is a beige or tan wool with a burnt orange pumpkin filled with a black cat and mustard coneflowers. Dangling from the cats tail you will find a mustard star. Have a small space in a cupboard or on a shelf for this little guy? I stitched up this mouse and placed him in a size 0 baby shoe which measures about 4 1/2" from the heel to the tip of the toe. The flowers tucked in with him are all real and dried.... including the tiny little daisy like flowers! The mouse is made from osnaburg with stitched on ears, eyes, nose and some whiskers. This mouse was created using a pattern I purchased from Soft In the Head titled Harvest Mice. I adapted it for Spring by adding a tiny fabric made bouquet of flowers in a cone. He sits proudly upon a pin keep made from a nice dark tan and tiny red flower fabric secured into an old zinc lid. He stands about 7" tall and his arms, legs and tail were created using rusted wire. I stitched his eyes and nose with black floss and added some wiskers. The cone is filled with natural excelsior green moss and made from painted fabric with a wire handle.
