This piece is made of an abandoned hummingbird nest I found in a creek during a rainstorm. The eggs are hand made. The box is wood, with glass front, the wigs are polymer clay painted with acrylic. The title "Blink" corresponds to a poem I wrote about what we see when we look at the world: the things that are growing or the things that are dying, because all around us things are growing and dying. Which do you choose to focus on?
The wingspan is 16", the box is 7" square and 2" deep. It hangs on a wall or sits on a table.

Frogs are ancient symbols of luck, abundance, transformation and rebirth. Frogs herald the end of the old and the beginning of the new. This sculpture can hang on a wall or sit on a table. It is 12" wide x 14" tall., and the lights operate on two AA batteries.

5" x 7" x 2.5" Los Angeles struggles every fall with what we call "fire season". Our homes are built in areas which are surrounded by wild chapparal, creating a yearly game of roulette in which we cut brush, debate whether to leave or stay, and watch anxiously for smoke. This little shrine is an acknowledgement of the hopes and fears we all share regarding our most intimate element.
