This book presents three different ornament cover designs, one beginner, one intermediate, and one intermediate/advanced design plus variations on each. All three are the type of cover that can be removed and placed on another ornament in the event that the first one breaks.

The instructions are extensive and clear enough that even a beginning beader should be able to work their way through all the designs provided that they start with the simplest design and work their way through it before progressing to the more complex designs. Once you've worked through them all you will know enough to start coming up with your own variations!

Each design has step by step instructions with large, clear diagrams. The book also includes a materials list and lots of helpful tips. All in all this book is a great way to get started with ornament covers.

A hank is bundle of seed beads. Hanks are usually 12 strands, but can be anywhere between 10 to 14. Each strand is typically between 12 and 14 inches long. A hank of seed beads weighs between 30 and 40 grams.

These are some of my favorites! This torso pendant is matte metallic magenta, blue and copper with flecks of gold. The bail is located at the top (neck) of the pendant.

Below is Fawn's Story

Fawn is a former racing Greyhound who is retired and living in Nashville, TN. She is the 3rd in my rescue animal series. Even count tubular peyote stitch with twisted fringe. Pattern includes graph for purse, strap & fringe. Also includes word chart of purse. Circumference 100 beads FAWN'S STORY One weekend while my husband and I were walking through a building at the Nashville Flea Market, we came upon a booth promoting the awareness of adopting retired racing Greyhounds. Sitting on a pad at the end of the booth was one of the most elegant, regal and beautiful dogs I had ever seen. He just sat there calmly amidst all the pandemonium and let everyone pet him being a good “ambassadog” so that all his fellow greyhounds would be adopted, not destroyed. Before the adoption programs were instituted, 40,000 three to four year old purebred racing greyhounds were “put down” every year. We immediately called Mid-South Adoption Option, Inc. at the Southland Racetrack in West Memphis, Arkansas, and went to pick out our greyhound. Forty pairs of eyes looked at us wanting a home and hoping someone would save their lives - what an impossible choice! When the dogs come to the adoption agency, they are assigned a temporary name. We settled on two females with the kennel names of Fawn and Sunny. The adoption agency volunteers suggested that we take them outside in a fenced area to get acquainted. Sunny performed every trick she knew. She was charming and funny. Fawn, who had just been spayed, was feeling ill and listless. But being a very smart dog, she walked over to me and looked at me with those beautiful black lined eyes which said “I could do that too if I felt well.” The eyes got me and I said to my husband, “This is our dog.” Fawn could not return to Nashville with us as she was due to have her stitches removed the following week, so we arranged to come back the next weekend to pick her up. On the way back to Nashville and over the next week, we discussed, argued, and agonized over a new name. Fawn for a fawn colored dog just seemed to lack imagination. The next Saturday we returned to pick up our pet, still not having come to an agreement on what to call her. Her racing name, registered with the National Greyhound Association and on her papers, was “Noble Countess”. She was well named. She is elegand, noble and graceful. During the return trip, we stopped at a rest area and my husband was walking her in the woods. It was fall and from a distance, she looked just like a baby deer. Fawn it was. Manking has long appreciated the greyhound, which is the only dog mentioned by name in the bible: “There be three (things) which go well, yea, four are comely in going: A lion (which is) strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any; a greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom (there is) no rising up.” Proverbs 30:29 Not a day goes by that she doesn’t show us her appreciation for rescuing her. Reddy is a German Shepherd Police Dog and he is the 4th in my series of rescued animals

REDDY'S STORY
Reddy (Ruthaford's Ruff and Reddy AKC REG Name) came from Yerington, Nevada and was sold to some people for show purposes. The people found out that he was too large by AKC standards for showing they then decided to starve him to the appropriate weight. He was sick, thin and barely alive when he was taken from these horrible people and ended up in the pound. By chance a kind caring person saw him and thought he looked familiar. They immediately notified a breeder who rescued the dog and to make a long story short they donated him for police service work. He was one of Butte County's first K-9 dogs. Reddy became the center of the family and a respected hard working member of the community. As a working K-9 on the Butte County Sheriff’s Dept. he had many arrest to his credit. One of them was during a building search where he saved my husband’s life by catching the bad guy who was about to assault my husband with a lead pipe. My favorite memories of Reddy are the home stories when he helped me with my daycare. All of the kids loved him and he knew which child belonged to which parent and who’s diaper bags and diapers were who’s. I was always sending him for something I had forgotten and he never missed. He always came back with the right item for that child. One little boy who I cared for, named D.J., would not take a nap. He would lay on Reddy’s back with his bottle between Reddy’s ears and suck on it and watch TV until he fell asleep. Reddy would lay like this for him for an hour or more while he slept. Reddy died of lymphomia. He patiently underwent chemotherapy treatments and never complained. He was my best friend and my husbands partner. We now have his puppy who is 10 but there will never be another Reddy. Jodi George Chico, CA
