This tutorial covers a couple of unique techniques using 104 coe silver reduction glass. It's for all levels of expertise from the beginner with the basics down, all the way to the advanced lampwork artist. You will only need a torch, mandrels, tweezers, marver and reduction glass to get started.

The stats: Two techniques, 15 pages, 41 pictures and over 60 sample beads plus a color layering chart. File size is just under 1MB.

I've been playing with a new glass called Chalcedony. It gives a wonderful range of colors and it's been really fun to play with. This bead has a variety of colors in it from fuchsia and yellow to purple and violet and light green.

I thought I would try offering some single lampwork beads for those that may not want to buy sets. This is a 11 x 19mm bead with a 2mm beads hole. I did a base of amber silver glass with six dots around the center. Multiple layers of silver glass were laid down and I got a streaky green for each dot. I also did a double row of ivory accent dots on each side.

This is a focal bauble bead that is more disc shaped instead of really round. The dots are streaky aqua inside from my storm technique. I also did a double row of accent dots in dark ivory on each side.

This is a set of three crackle beads made with the premium glass River Rock. This glass was a limited edition release and is no longer available and highly sought after. I fumed it lightly with silver and it gives a great reaction with a lot of crackle effect.

This is a lampwork bead in Chalcedony that I have wire wrapped into a pendant and it's ready to wear on your favorite chain. The bead has striated colors in a fabulous pattern of purple, sage green, yellow and spicy red. The bead itself measures 16 x 21mm. I've wire wrapped it with sterling silver wire and sterling silver bead caps and it has a little tassel of Swarovski crystals hanging from the bottom. From the top of the loop to the end of the lowest crystal, the pendant is 2 1/4" long.

This is a new style of big hole bead for a pandora or troll bracelet. Layers of silver glass have been encased in clear. This bead has interesting colors of almost a chartreuse ocher with some blue and green as well. I also did my webbing technique which almost made a plaid pattern in this bead...very cool!

This is the result of a day playing at the torch. I made a twistie of silver glass and put it on a base of amber. I used heat and gravity to move it over the bead to create a flow. A base of dark ivory shows great crackle reactions with the silver glass.

This is a 16 x 37mm focal bead with a 2mm bead hole.
