I recently discovered this paper mache dressform and loved it so much that I just had to make...something with it. I got down to business, loved the result and put her on my desk to serve as my muse. Every girl could use a Parisienne muse right?

La Muse Parisienne is 8.5" tall, 4" wide

I painted her a bright metallic gold and draped around her neck a selection of my purchased and handmade charms. The charms are attached to two silvertone charm bracelets by silver lobster clasps. If you'd like, I can paint her a bright metallic silver and use goldtone charm bracelets and goldtone lobster clasps.

There are several different types of charms on each bracelet:
~ hand-strung beads and swarouski crystals charms
~ charms made from my Temple Bracelet collection, with Swarouski crystal accents
~ Paris charms from literally everywhere
~ Paris coins: Oui, Amour, and je t'aime plus qu' hier moins que demain (I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow)

I created this cuff bracelet as an expression of my love of history, art, fantasy, Paris, & that feminine "je ne sais quoi." The Diva Bond Bracelet is an ode to a bygone era Parisen.

FEMININE. ROMANTIC. TIMELESS.

I've taken my favorite images of Paris and fashioned them into a cuff bracelet. It's images are centered around one theme. I've named this Petite Serie - Diva Bond. Yes I meant to say Diva, not James. This bracelet's theme centers around my collection of vintage mid-century Paris Perfume advertisements. Each of the bracelets in my collection speak to a different aspect of femininity. This one speaks to the femme fatale that exists in every woman. Can't you just see it?

Diva Bond:
- she does not drive an Austin Martin, she drives a Sunbeam Alpine (think Grace Kelly's car from To Catch A Thief).

-She does not carry a Baretta 418, she does not need one - her smarts, cunning and velvet encased steely will are all the weapons she needs.

-Her drink of choice is not a Martini (shaken or stirred). Her drink of choice is a tall cool flute of Perrier Jouet Blason Rose.

-She does not wear anything resembling a Tux; she's wearing a slinky Black crepe gown with a Gardenia trembling precariously in her decoutage (think Jennifer Connelly from the 2002 Golden Globe Awards).

-And, of course, she's wearing this bracelet on her wrist.

Oh Diva!

This bracelet is made using 8 Bamboo tiles. Each individual tile contains an affixed altered art image (that I photographed), then I "wire-weave" the tiles together and "wire-weave" a box clasp onto the ends.

The bracelet's dimensions: 8"x1.5" with a 1.5"x1" goldtone/filigreed box clasp - secure, easy to close & open, and very pretty. I've got a wonderful friend in Shanghai who hand-makes my clasps.

Other than my husband & children, ballet is my largest passion. It was not until I reached the age of 25 that I worked up the nerve to embark upon my girlhood dream and enroll in an adult ballet class. Beginning with that first October class, I've attended a ballet class, 3 days a week, for the past 14 years. I'm living one of my dreams and that dream is the inspiration for this bracelet.

Gustav Klimt was an Austrian Symbolist painter. His primary subject was the female body, and his works are marked by a frank eroticism. I named this bracelet Goddess because that is what each of these ladies look like. And that is how I want you to feel when you wear it.

I created this cuff bracelet as an expression of my love of history, art, fantasy, Paris and that feminine "je ne sais quoi." This time done in silver, "Parisienne" is an ode to a bygonge era Parisien.

FEMIININE. ROMANTIC. TIMELESS.

I've taken my favorite images of Pairs and fashioned them into this cuff bracelet. I've named this La Serie Argent - Delta of Venus.

Anais Nin was born in Neuilly, France (1903), to a Cuban father and a Danish mother. Nin is hailed as one of the finest writers of female erotica. In her early 20s, Nin moved to Paris and, soon thereafter, began to pursue her interest in writing. In 1940, faced with a desperate need for money, Nin began to write erotic narratives for an anonymous "collector" for a dollar a page. She never intended for her erotic works to be published, but changed her mind in the early 1970s, and allowed them to be published as "Delta of Venus." The inspiration for this bracelet was the 1999 film adaptation of this book [warning: not for the faint of heart].

The lasting impression that Anais Nin leaves me is her ultimate desire to create, and then project, the image of a free woman designing her own life and world into something beautiful - with this bracelet my aim is the same.

Josephine Baker. Also known as the Black Venus, the Black Pearl, the Creole Goddess, or simply La Baker. Singer, Dancer, Movie Star, Civil Rights activist, member of the French Resistance (during WWII). The original DIVA sang, danced, and shimmied her way across Europe. She fell in love with Paris, and Paris fell in love with her. She was larger than life, and even larger than life afterlife. In my ode to La DIVA she is depicted as the Silver Goddess and she is, quite simply, my hero!

I created this cuff bracelet as an expression of my love of history, art, fantasy, Paris, & that feminine "je ne sais quoi." The Monet Bracelet is an ode to a bygone era Parisien.

FEMININE. ROMANTIC. TIMELESS.

I've taken my favorite images of Paris and fashioned them into a cuff bracelet; with images that are centered around one theme. I've named this Petite Serie - Monet - consisting of my favorite works by Claude Monet.

This bracelet was inspired by the film The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). The story opens with the self-made billionaire, super hot, Thomas Crown stealing Monet's "San Giorgo Maggiore at Dusk" from the Metropolitan Museum of Art [the centermost tile in the above picture]. Insurance investigator, Catherine Banning, arrives to assist the police investigating the case. Of course, from their first meeting, the sparks fly! After a sexy game of cat-and-mouse, Crown and Banning admit their passionate love for each other and the film ends with them flying to Paris! It's worth the price of the rental alone just to experience Banning's fashion! Banning is glorious in her fantabulous Diva-ness [see Diva Bond - Cote D'Azur Bracelet]; and Crown? - C'est Magnifique! For me, the best thing about this film is that's it's about the love affair between two mature adults. They make 40+ look really good - and so does this bracelet.

Erika - A Breath of Paris

It happened quite by accident:
It was a sultry summer night, I was with two of my favorite people in the world, in my favorite States-side French restaurant; it was my birthday.

My best-Diva-girlfriend brought flowers and candles; my husband arranged for a secluded spot on the terrace and a few bottles of my favorite champagne (okay maybe more than a few!) Of course, I had my camera with me (I always do). At some point I turned my head, to look at Erika, and I saw...it. It was the visualization of a favorite quote:

"A breath of Paris preserves the soul" (Victor Hugo, 1862)

In that moment, I took my breath and, wanting to keep that moment, I stood up, took a few steps back, and took this photograph. No, it's not a photograph of Paris. It's a photograph of the feeling and fantasy of Paris. Other than slight cropping, this photo has not been altered in any way. This piece of art will look gorgeous in any room - I'd love to know what you think.
