I do declare this is my most favorite necklace I have ever created...

I designed this necklace around the stunning vintage Victorian cameo locket I found in warm tones of orange and ivory.

I truly wanted to create a statement piece with it, so I have paired it here with six strands of wire wrapped moonstone and carnelian roundelles for an eye popping combination.

The moonstone is delicately faceted and throws a fantastic sparkle and blue fire while the carnelian is a deep delicious juicy tangerine.

Each strand of gems is wire wrapped using 14k gold filled wire and has been attached to amazing vintage gold plated connectors. The strands measure 8"/20cm, 10"/25cm and 12"/30cm respectively and all meet at the center locket to give the outer two strands a delicate swooping shape.

This necklace is finished with lush mulberry velvet ribbon and can be tied for a finished choker size or larger to a princess 17"/43cm length.

I homage to her carefree ways I have made this necklace rather whimsical in return. Dangling from two brass hoops are two chains, vintage gold plated and raw brass respectively.

The chunky vintage gold plated chain is attached to the enamel and brass pendant with brass wire and carnelian roundelles. The bottom raw brass chain is attached to the pendant and the hoops with small gold filled jump rings.

The most whimsical part of the necklace perhaps is the lush red velvet ribbon that is attached to the hoops and loop around back for the necklace tie. Therefore this necklace can be adjusted to the length you require.

I have it tied on the photos to represent an approximately 18"/46cm long necklace.

I began this journey with a unique antique rhinestone brooch and I knew it would lead me somewhere special. This brooch piece has been upcycled and altered to boast a vintage watch movement at it's peak. The watch movement itself has been adorned with a faceted amethyst roundel, set to mimic one of the gears and a brass filigree dragonfly. Continuing on, the bracelet has a raw brass bumble bee buzzing along and has been wire wrapped with alternating sections of amethyst and garnet chips on either side of the focal piece. The bracelet base is a brass cuff and therefore is adjustable.
