The handmade bead at the center of this necklace was designed in the style of early Victorian Christmas ornaments. The subtle brown diamond pattern with the pin-like dots around it is like the fabric and pin patterns on those early ornaments. (Yes, there's another kind of kissing ball which contains mistletoe in a glass ball, but this isn't that kind.) An additional pair of handmade beads are paired with silver metallic beads on either side, and red and clear crystal beads enhance the ornament-like qualities of the pendant.

We figured that with a name like Moonblush Designs we'd better do a lot of celestial pieces. Well, also we both like them. Which is probably why we came up with the name. But I digress.

This piece features five handmade, lampwork beads on a rigid piece of memory wire. This is in turn attached to a silver metallic chain for what we think is a rather elegant necklace. It should be noted that the first, third, and fifth bead have moons on them, the second and fourth do not.

A copper dragonfly was fused between candy apple red and clear sheets of glass and then fused to make this unique necklace. The dark color of the dragonfly is caused by a natural reaction between the glass and the copper. The wire bail was made from high temperature wire and then fused directly into the glass in order to make it more comfortable to wear. A scattering of glass frit was fused over the wire to add strength.

The pendant measures 15/16" square and is aproximately 1/4" thick. The diameter of the loop is roughly 1/4th of an inch. The pendant hangs from a 19 inch long 3mm wide velvet cord, including an inch of chain to which the lobster clasp can be attached.

For those sick of lightly colored, happy and cheerful beads we offer this set of 11 hand made, lampwork beads in red and black. The set consists of 2 plain black, 2 plain red, 2 harlequin (interlocking triangles), a triangular bead, a squarish black bead with 4 red dots, a black bead with raised red dots, a smaller bead with three sets of concentric black and red circles, and a larger bead with 5 sets of red and black circles. As always, the camera and monitor settings can play tricks with colors, but the red glass in these beads is a candy apple (some may say blood) red.

The sizes range from 3/8" to 1/2" in diameter and 3/16" to 1/4" in thickness. All beads were made on a 3/32" mandrel and were fully annealed for strength.

White polymer beads are interspersed with red pearls and a hematite heart to spell the simple truth that Nanny Ogg loves you*. A fused glass pendant with a blue/green dichroic butterfly fused into the cobalt blue glass is the focal of this modern necklace. A thin piece of dichroic slide was cut into the butterfly shape and fused completely into the surface of the glass(it will not scratch off without serious work, probably including sandpaper). In the light the pattern shifts from blue to green, subtly reflecting and refracting the light.

The measurements of the pendant are roughly 3/4ths of an inch square and 1/8th of an inch thick. A piece of high temperature wire has been fused into the back and partially covered with glass to act as the bail. The diameter of the loop is roughly 1/4th of an inch. The pendant hangs from a 19 inch long 3mm wide "velvet" cord, including an inch of chain to which the lobster clasp can be attached.

Let people know that you're both dangerous and feminine with this unusual necklace. Clear glass was fused over pale pink glass with a copper skull and crossbones sandwiched in between. As a natural reaction with the heat and the glass, the copper developed a dark patina and released a delicate pattern of bubbles into the clear glass above. Just a warning that you're willing to deep six anyone who might get in your way. (And, let me add, "Yarrr!")

The pendant itself, which we made ourselves, is roughly 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" and 1/4th of an inch thick. A high temperature wire bail has been fused into the glass and a thin layer of glass fused over the top of it for durability and so the pendent lays flat when worn. In addition, the loop on the bail is large enough that the pendant can easily be removed from it's "velvet" cord, should you wish to use either for something else. The cord has an inch of chain to which the clasp can be attached for easy length adjustment.

Random Brown Bead Necklace

We took a bunch of hand made, lampwork glass beads we didn't have another project for, put them on a necklace, and are now passing the savings on to you!

The central pendant is made from alternating bands of ivory and transparent brown glass. The ivory bands were then wrapped with silver foil which was fused into the pendant causing the glass to darken around it. The first two smaller beads out are black with a silver green frit melted into them causing a random, possibly Rorschach like pattern. The next two are a darker ivory with black patterns "painted" on with glass and then melted in. The final two are black beads that were coated with silver foil, which was then burned in causing it to create hundreds of silver points all over them.

The beads are strung on 30 inches faux leather cord and separated by silver metallic spacer beads. The cord has no clasp so that you may tie it at any length you wish.

A fused glass bat pendant, for Halloween or any time. A copper foil bat was fused between a piece of orange glass and a piece of clear glass. In the fusing, the copper attained a dark, almost black patina. The measurements are roughly 1 inch by 3/4 of an inch. A piece of high temperature wire has been fused into the back to allow easy attachment to chains, cords, or jumprings.

A set of sparkling blue dichroic glass with twisted wire accents. The necklace is a plain, silver metallic chain with claw clasp and a bar of striking blue dichroic glass overlaid with clear glass as a pendant. The earrings have similar dichroic focals, but instead of hanging from a jump ring, the glass has been fused with spirals of high temperature wire, which extends out through the top, loaded with crystal beads and silver metallic findings, and then makes the loop for the earwires.

An unusual set of purple fused glass earrings and a necklace. Clear glass was fused over a swirled purple glass to create the pendant and drops. High temperature wire was fused directly into the glass and covered with a thin layer of glass frit to keep the backs smooth and to add additional durability. Lavender crystals were added along the chain to add a touch of whimsy.

The earrings are roughly an inch long by 7/16 of an inch wide and 1/4 inch thick. The pendant is 3/4 inch long by 5/8 of an inch wide and also 1/4 inch thick. The necklace chain is 19 1/2 inches long and the clasp can be fastened at any point along the chain for easy length adjustment.

Twenty five hand made, lampwork glass beads are strung into this strand, intended for use in keeping track of your lives in collectible card games (or really for any reason you might need to count to twenty-five). The way the beads are strung together allows them to move freely. Simply push a bead from one side of the gap to the other to adjust the count. The beads alternate between a dark, transparent brown and a light ivory every five beads. A hand made tassel completes the piece.

What appears as a simple star on a blue background takes on new depths in this charming necklace. The pendant is a tile of opaque blue glass with a silver foil star embedded within. A thin piece of dichroic slide was cut into the dragonfly shape and fused completely into the surface (it will not scratch off without serious work). A set of assorted shiny red beads, usable in any project you'd like. They're made from 104 CoE (Effetre) glass on a 3/32" mandrel. The red glass which is the main component of the beads is a striking glass, meaning that it changes colors when heated (and then remains at that color). Because of this, some of the beads retain streaks or bands of orange through them.

The set contains: two standard beads with offset white dots, one standard bead, one cylindrical bead, one triangular bead, one standard bead with large white dots and small orange dots, and one standard bead with offset clear dots with orange dots on top.

The stars are totally right for this beautiful pendant. At least that's what someone babbled incoherently to us one stormy evening as they cowered in a garret.

While the pendant isn't actually Cthulhu per se (which is Latin for "at all"), you wouldn't have much of a secret society if everyone knew who you worshiped on those dark, unknowable nights. The octopoidal shape was cut from silver foil and fused between two sheets of glass. A slight corrosion of the silver creates a textured, mottled look to the iconic shape. The bail is made from high temperature stamen wire and is fused directly into the glass so that it remains secure no matter what adventures you undertake.
