Many of Jesus' Apostles were fishermen. There is something about fishing. The avid fishermen tell me it allows them to connect to nature. Much, I guess, like photography does for me. Jesus told his followers they would be fishers of men; something these ordinary folks, given an extra ordinary mission, understood.

We walked its streets, took in this city’s mystique, and sat on a sidewalk cafe sipping a lemon flavored Italian ice drink. What an experience! This city, like many in Italy, is situated right on the coastline. As we were walking to our bus, I looked back and saw this site. I then captured this picture which I believe reveals the essences of this city.

The Person of God the Father freely chooses to trump His Justice with His Infinite Love in the Person of the Holy Spirit and Expressed in His Abundant Mercy In the Person of Jesus Christ. The sun, which through a cross hair filter I arranged to be in a form of Jesus' cross, reminds me of the dazzling brilliance of Jesus, God Himself, becoming man, our brother, taking on all of our sins, and freely choosing to die for all of us regardless of our faith (or no faith), gender, politics, health, wealth (or lack of it), etc. God out did Himself, didn't He....there is no greater gift than His very self! I waited for this boat to be aligned between the lighthouse and the sunset and caught this memorable event. A moment in the life of Italian sailors, their boat, the lighthouse, and the setting sun.

Photographer's Thoughts: I feel this print captures the best of Venice with the gondolier wearing his traditional garb, the bridge crossing the canal, the people walking the sidewalks and the building coming out of the water. I captured this pictures after my wife and I finished enjoying the hospitality of a café serving us on tables on the sidewalk next to the canal. We had the softest and freshest biscotti with her coke and my decaffeinated espresso coffee. Venice is such an enchanting and friendly city.

Photographer's Thoughts: I love being in Florida for many reasons but one of the most significant is its beautiful sunsets. My son, Paul, and I were driving back from a photo shoot when this setting sun caught my eye. If you are having a pressured filled bad day and do not feel the presence of God in anything, take the time to sit still experience the setting sun. This is just what happened to me that day. I was very busy with so much to do and my son asked me to come and take some pictures with him. I was reluctant but I did and it turned out to have been a most pleasant evening. I took the time for my son and encountered God.

Photographer's Thoughts: Oh what a beautiful scene capturing these children playing in this typical Florida sunset, but at what a price. To get a shot of children and of a sunset one has to patiently wait a rather long time. Well! As I waited, the infamous Florida “No See ‘Ems” had a field day on me. I had about 30 to 40 bits from the near invisible critters that lasted for over a week. You know what? It was worth it wasn’t it. I love children and I love sunsets. A small price to pay.

This hawk (Osprey) is one of my neighbors. This is one of his two favorite perches within our community. He is actually over looking the water. His whole stance shows his strength and keen abilities as a hunter. I love watching him in action. To me he symbolizes God’s strength!

As we were driving away at a local park on the water near the bridge, I saw this Egret walking in front of the setting sun. Paul, stopped the car and let me capture this image. This bird looks like he is fully in charge, doesn’t he! Look at that majestic appearance. I feel so close to my God when I am with and capturing nature like this creature. Photographer's Thoughts: Diane and I took a trip around the south eastern, southern, and south western coast of our beautiful state of Florida. Our first stop was in Fort Lauderdale at this Irish hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It was sunrise and I went out to the patio and caught this picture of the guy going out fishing at the crack of dawn. It was so peaceful and so beautiful. Two weeks later, this place was hit by a hurricane. Life is like that...peace, tranquility and then a storm...sometimes quite a turbulent one at that. We need to learn to take the time to enjoy the tranquil moments of life so we can better weather the storms within our lives. Nature is such a great teacher!

Photographer's Thoughts: There is an interesting story about this photo. First, this is a view I have of Tampa Bay from the living room window of our condo on the 10th floor in Cove Cay Golf Club, Clearwater Florida. I took a print similar to this about 6 month prior, but lost it in an error I made in downloading my images. Guess what, I could not go back and recapture this shot because the sun has already moved too far from these buildings to capture this shot. Therefore, I had to wait another six month till I was able to capture this one. Finally got it! Worth the wait, isn’t it!!
