These are lighter in weight than glass (and much less fragile!) and individually wrapped to protect each cabochon from damage. → DESCRIPTION: Lovely little stainless surgical steel stud earrings with glue pads, AAA construction. Comes with surgical stainless steel earnuts. Great for projects with clear cabs (6mm size coming soon!), resin, or small cabochons!
→ SIZE: 6mm diameter glue pad, approximately .25mm thick. Post is approximately 12mm long. 21 gauge.
→ QUANTITY: 40 earrings and 40 earnuts (20 pairs)

→ ADDITIONAL INFO: Perfect for anyone with metal allergies! Both earrings and earnuts are made of surgical steel, which is a wonderful alternative to silver tone, silver plate and even sterling silver when it comes to the most sensitive of metal allergies (I can't even wear sterling but these don't cause the slightest problem!) These earrings are graded as AAA constructed surgical steel - the highest grade that can be given. The posts are riveted to the glue pads in a manner that makes it practically impossible for the pad to come loose from the post which allows you to create a superior quality product. These earrings have a smooth, rounded end that will not cause discomfort when the earrings are being put on or taken off and there is also a little groove a few millimeters from the end which holds the earnuts in place perfectly.

The glue pads have a slightly concave center, which creates a better environment for creating a strong bond and is designed in such a way that they can also be glued to items larger than 6mm (as long as the right glue is used for the project. All items in my shop that involve gluing now come with a "glue tips" insert that includes my tips based on research, customer input and personal experience.
→ DISCLAIMER: Please note that different monitors show color differently. Surgical steel is a light to medium silver color (not at all gunmetal or blackish so if they appear that way, it's probably because of the difference between your monitor and mine).

Pinback buttons are an excellent resource for showcasing your art, promoting your shop, and making your logo stand out in your customers' minds.

This listing is for 25 custom 1 inch (2.5cm) round pinback buttons in full color or black and white with up to 5 different designs. Your buttons will be professionally laser printed and pressed using a top of the line professional button press. Don't settle for inkjet printed promotional items! Artwork printed on an inkjet printer is less vibrant and fades under extended exposure to sunlight. Over time, moisture can seep into buttons, magnets, or mirrors and if they are printed on an inkjet printer the ink will start to run, causing a "rusty" appearance.

When designing your product, please make sure that everything you want on the front of the button, magnet, or mirror fits inside the inner black circle. However, any background colors or imagery should extend to the thick black line. This area is the "bleed" area. The bleed area is not visible on the front of the button, it is the part of the image that continues around and is tucked under when the button is pressed.

Note: I do not provide graphic design services. However, if you are having trouble with using the template and simply need an image centered properly, I can do that for you and send you a preview image via email or convo for you to approve.

Artwork should be 300 dpi and converted to CMYK color mode. If your image is sent to me in RGB mode I can convert it for you, just please be aware that there may be very slight variations in the color you see on your screen compared to how the images will print as they are printed on a four color laser printer and must be in CMYK format.

You can send the files to me via email in pretty much any format, though .jpg and .psd are preferred. It is best to send artwork via email as the files are usually too large to send via convo. My email address is included in the email you will receive from Etsy after making a purchase.

Please remember: I can always make an image SMALLER but I cannot make an image BIGGER, so when in doubt, feel free to make your image as huge as you want and I can resize it with no problem but if it is too small there's no way to make it bigger without losing image quality.

Pocket mirrors are an excellent resource for showcasing your art, promoting your shop, and making your logo stand out in your customers' minds.

This listing is for 10 custom 2.25 inch (5.7cm) round pocket mirrors in full color or black and white with up to 2 different designs. Your mirrors will be professionally laser printed and pressed using a top of the line professional button press. Don't settle for inkjet printed promotional items! Artwork printed on an inkjet printer is less vibrant and fades under extended exposure to sunlight. Over time, moisture can seep into buttons, magnets, or mirrors and if they are printed on an inkjet printer the ink will start to run, causing a "rusty" appearance.

When designing your product, please make sure that everything you want on the front of the button, magnet, or mirror fits inside the inner black circle. However, any background colors or imagery should extend to the thick black line. This area is the "bleed" area. The bleed area is not visible on the front of the pocket mirror, it is the part of the image that continues around and is tucked under when the mirror is pressed.

Note: I do not provide graphic design services. However, if you are having trouble with using the template and simply need an image centered properly, I can do that for you and send you a preview image via email or convo for you to approve.

♥ Artwork / Image Requirements ♥
Artwork should be 300 dpi and converted to CMYK color mode. If your image is sent to me in RGB mode I can convert it for you, just please be aware that there may be very slight variations in the color you see on your screen compared to how the images will print as they are printed on a four color laser printer and must be in CMYK format.

You can send the files to me via email in pretty much any format, though .jpg and .psd are preferred. It is best to send artwork via email as the files are usually too large to send via convo. My email address is included in the email you will receive from Etsy after making a purchase.

Please remember: I can always make an image SMALLER but I cannot make an image BIGGER, so when in doubt, feel free to make your image as huge as you want and I can resize it with no problem but if it is too small there's no way to make it bigger without losing image quality.

→ DESCRIPTION: Delightful flatback buttons to use as cabs / cabochons in your jewelry, mixed media and other projects! Cabs are made using paper from an English to Japanese dictionary published in the 70's (1976). They feature lovely Japanese characters, fun little wing-ding stars, plus some delightful English words as well: Technicolor! Tequila! Dixieland! Knockout! and more!

The papers used are NOT reproductions - It begins with a lovely old book. I flip through them, studying pages until I find a word I like, frame it in an interesting way and then carefully cut out circles from the original, thin and delicate pages. Then, I cover them with a protective layer of mylar for strength and durability and then, finally, I press them with a professional button press and they pop out all awesome and shiny.

Note: Buttons pictured are examples only - you will not necessarily receive these exact buttons but all are similar in style and will all come from the same book. Please no specific requests - the mystery is part of the fun!

These buttons are all unique and also limited in supply - once I'm out of book, I'm out of buttons! Age spots, smudges and handwritten notations do pop up from time to time with vintage paper but I only leave them in if they add to the overall aesthetic. If you want buttons without one or all of the aforementioned attributes of vintage paper (or very much do want them), let me know and I'll do my very best to pick out some super neat ones just for you.
→ COLOR: The paper has not aged much and has sort of a very pale creamy patina but mostly the pages are more of a soft white, which I captured to the best of my ability in the photos. Please be aware that different computer monitors can show colors differently so slight variations between what you see on the screen and what you receive can occur.

Gluing tip! Roughen up the item to be glued (and the glue pad if you like) a bit with sandpaper for a better grip and clean both surfaces to be glued with rubbing alcohol prior to gluing.

Disclaimer: Once the pins reach you as described, I've fulfilled my end of the sale and can't be held responsible if something you glue falls off - sanding and cleaning the item to be glued, finding the right glue for the project (for example, a glue meant for plastics if you'll be gluing plastic) and following the directions for its use are all an important part in creating strong, reliable products with these bobby pins. → DESCRIPTION: Gorgeous flatback buttons to use as cabs (cabochons) in your jewelry, mixed media and various other projects! These cabs are made using paper from a lovely, full-sized collegiate dictionary published in 1940. The papers used are NOT reproductions! These cabs all feature lovely, carefully-chosen illustrations (text-only cabs are available in my shop), diagrams and other delightful, lovely little illustrated gems.

IMPORTANT NOTE! The photos featured are from the last dictionary I used to make these, which was published in 1956. The style of the illustrations, the subjects featured in the illustrations and the patina of the paper are all extremely similar and since this time of year is so hectic that I feel like my head is about to spin right off, I haven't had a chance to get some photos of buttons made from the new dictionary. I'm just using these photos until I get a batch of buttons made and have a chance to snap some photos but if you don't feel comfortable purchasing with only these photos to go by, please convo me and as soon as I have a chance I'll snap a few photos of the illustrations in the 1940 dictionary for you.

The photos featured are samples of flatback buttons that have already been sold so please be aware that you will not be receiving any of the exact images pictured but they are all carefully chosen and come from the same book (as mentioned above, they don't come from THAT exact book, but all images used come from the same 1940's dictionary). Please note that there are lots of you and only 20 or so cabs pictured - the mix is handpicked and I put a lot of thought into each one and toss any that don't look as good as I thought they would so they're more of a surprise than just a random grab-bag!

Please, no requests for specific images! Requests to exclude certain items will be honored when possible. Meaning: if, for example, you hate spiders and/or insects (or snakes, or lizards, or puppies) let me know because there are lots of insects and a fair amount of amphibians in the book and while the illustrations are exquisite, you are not required to like them and I don't want you to be terrified when you receive your order! Also, I love asymmetry so I do occasionally frame an image off-center. This is rare with these cabs because they tend to look best centered so they're as centered as I can get them by eyeballing it. To be on the safe side though, let me know if you hate asymmetry. They are centered in the cutter by eye (there aren't any guides on the cutter for centering) so I can't promise machine-like perfection but I've gotten pretty good at it in the years I've been making buttons. Finally, be aware that some words you may find offensive have multiple meanings so please let me know if you have an aversion to certain language (or just don't want to incorporate it into your artwork) and I'll be glad to leave out gems like, say, the "shuttlecock" visible in the third photo.

This listing is for the buttons only, though the round brass settings (as well as the early 1900's era French text flatback buttons pictured in the settings) are available in my shop. These would also make great rings, hair pins or stud earrings (blanks / bases for each of these are available in my shop!). These buttons are all unique and also limited in supply - once I'm out of illustrations, I'm out of buttons! The buttons pictured are examples only - you will not necessarily receive the ones pictured but they will all be similar in style and will all come from the same book. Age spots, smudges and handwritten notations from long ago are bound to pop up from time to time but are rare.

These are mainly sold as flatback buttons (the kind you can glue to settings and pretty much anything really) but I can also make them as pinbacks (the kind you wear) per your request.
PLEASE note that they will only be made as pinbacks if you let me know that is your preference in the "note to seller" field on Etsy's checkout page! **FLATBACK** BUTTONS WILL BE SENT IF NO PREFERENCE IS STATED. → COLOR: The paper is aged to a nice, pale buttery patina which I captured to the best of my ability in the photos. Please be aware that different computer monitors can show colors differently so slight variations between what you see on the screen and what you receive can occur. There can also be slight variations in the coloring on different pages and different areas of a book this old so please keep this in mind as well.

→ DESCRIPTION: These gorgeous, sturdy, adjustable ring bases are amazing! They have a thick band and a large, deep square bezel that can be lined with your own artwork, pretty paper, etc and then filled with resin for a gorgeous, professional final product.
→ SIZE: Square cup measures 18mm x 18mm. Cup is 4mm deep. Band is 6mm wide and just under 1mm thick. Size is adjustable (diameter across widest part of ring pictured is 20mm - fits a US size 7 or 8 without adjustment but adjusts to fit practically any size).

→ ADDITIONAL INFO: Note: These are a light silver color but it was difficult to capture in pictures - they're a bit lighter than they appear - and please keep in mind that different monitors show colors differently so slight variations are inevitable. The best medium to use with this sort of ring is resin, which can be found online and in most craft stores. If you are unfamiliar with the medium, it's best to do a few test runs to get the hang of it (don't use your favorite, irreplaceable picture of your great-great-grandmother on your first try!). However, there are limitless possibilities: you can use glue to add, say, fake moss, felt, fabric, etc. You could even create layers of felt to give texture and to fill the cup. Plus, anything you put in the cup can be covered with a protective layer of resin (just make sure you leave room!) If you can think of it, you can do it! Well, within reason. Dream big. Dream 18x18x4mm big! (Please feel free to send pictures - I'd love to see what you do with these!)

P.S. My knowledge of glues, epoxies and resins is limited to the research I've done for my customers - I don't get much time to play around with these fun things myself so I'm glad to answer questions but it's always best to also do some research as well and go with what sounds best for your project. Prep items to be glued with a swipe of isopropyl alcohol (that's the household kind that you can find for less than $1 in just about any store) and sand areas to be glued (when possible) for the strongest hold.

→ DESCRIPTION: Absolutely fantastic retro (not vintage - these are new) owls with bells. The owls are a great size and have cute little off-white feather detailing on their brown bodies with cute little red noses and blue eyes. Wonderful detailing - they have 3D wings and feet and the nose, eyes and feathers all stick out a bit and have great texture and really make these little owls come to life. So cute!
Regarding photos: I have more but they aren't edited yet but I will add them as soon as I have time.
→ SIZE: 22mm tall (including loop), approximately 18mm wide across the front of the owl (hard to measure with a rigid ruler because they're so round!), approximately 15mm wide when turned sideways (thickness rather than width, perhaps?) and the loop measures just over 4mm tall (same width). Age spots, smudges and handwritten notations from long ago are bound to pop up from time to time but are neither guaranteed to be in your set or to not be in your set. If you want buttons without one or all of the aforementioned attributes of vintage paper (or really, really want them), let me know and I'll do my very best to pick out some super neat ones just for you. I also often cut a few of the magnets off-center, to showcase some of the gorgeous aged paper and because I'm a major fan of asymmetry. If you're not, please let me know if you prefer not much white space or not much asymmetry (or none at all of one or both) and I will do my very best to make you a set that you'll like! I can't guarantee every button will be wall to wall text because there are paragraph breaks, areas where there are really great chapter headings in larger font with lots of space in between each line, parts with teeeny tiny text and all kinds of other fun little anomalies which I really find to be one of the best parts of working with paper so old. A book that's nearly 100 years old has probably got some stories to tell and wears its age on its sleeve and that's what makes vintage items so fantastic, for me, so I tend to try to make each button or magnet as visually-interesting as I can.

Also, I am a fan of asymmetry so if I think an image will look nice framed off-center, I generally do them that way but they're mostly as centered as I can get them by eyeballing it because these images seem to look best centered but please let me know if asymmetry makes you want to scream and I'll leave out any that aren't centered (it's still eyeballed so I can't promise machine-like perfection but I've gotten pretty good at it in all my button-pressing years). Oh, and the word "cock" in reference to non-phallic items seems to come up with surprising frequency - the titles beneath the pictures are sometimes visible (one is visible in the third picture, a shuttlecock; obviously not anything scandalous but if you don't want to explain it to a toddler or just don't want cocks on your fridge, please let me know and I'll make sure you have a set without any).

Pocket mirrors are an excellent resource for showcasing your art, promoting your shop, and making your logo stand out in your customers' minds.

This listing is for 25 custom 2.25 inch (5.7cm) round pocket mirrors in full color or black and white with up to 5 different designs. Your mirrors will be professionally laser printed and pressed using a top of the line professional button press. Don't settle for inkjet printed promotional items! Artwork printed on an inkjet printer is less vibrant and fades under extended exposure to sunlight. Over time, moisture can seep into buttons, magnets, or mirrors and if they are printed on an inkjet printer the ink will start to run, causing a "rusty" appearance.

When designing your product, please make sure that everything you want on the front of the button, magnet, or mirror fits inside the inner black circle. However, any background colors or imagery should extend to the thick black line. This area is the "bleed" area. The bleed area is not visible on the front of the pocket mirror, it is the part of the image that continues around and is tucked under when the mirror is pressed.

Note: I do not provide graphic design services. However, if you are having trouble with using the template and simply need an image centered properly, I can do that for you and send you a preview image via email or convo for you to approve.

Artwork should be 300 dpi and converted to CMYK color mode. If your image is sent to me in RGB mode I can convert it for you, just please be aware that there may be very slight variations in the color you see on your screen compared to how the images will print as they are printed on a four color laser printer and must be in CMYK format.

You can send the files to me via email in pretty much any format, though .jpg and .psd are preferred. It is best to send artwork via email as the files are usually too large to send via convo. My email address is included in the email you will receive from Etsy after making a purchase.

Please remember: I can always make an image SMALLER but I cannot make an image BIGGER, so when in doubt, feel free to make your image as huge as you want and I can resize it with no problem but if it is too small there's no way to make it bigger without losing image quality.

These pins have two large holes for sewing or otherwise securing the pin to your brooch and the back is also nice and flat so you can bond the pins to large, fancy cabochons, vintage buttons and other non-fabric items that can't be sewn. Meaning: if, for example, you hate spiders and/or insects (or snakes, or lizards, or puppies) let me know because there are lots of insects and a fair amount of amphibians in the book and while the illustrations are exquisite, you are not required to like them and I don't want you to be terrified when you receive your order! Also, I love asymmetry so I do occasionally frame an image off-center. This is rare with these cabs because they tend to look best centered so they're as centered as I can get them by eyeballing it. To be on the safe side though, let me know if you hate asymmetry. They are centered in the cutter by eye (there aren't any guides on the cutter for centering) so I can't promise machine-like perfection but I've gotten pretty good at it in the years I've been making buttons. This listing is for the buttons only, though the round brass settings (as well as the early 1900's era French text flatback buttons pictured in the settings) are available in my shop. These would also make great rings, hair pins or stud earrings (blanks / bases for each of these are available in my shop!). These buttons are all unique and also limited in supply - once I'm out of illustrations, I'm out of buttons! The buttons pictured are examples only - you will not necessarily receive the ones pictured but they will all be similar in style and will all come from the same book. Age spots, smudges and handwritten notations from long ago are bound to pop up from time to time but are rare.

These are mainly sold as flatback buttons (the kind you can glue to settings and pretty much anything really) but I can also make them as pinbacks (the kind you wear) per your request.

These earrings are graded as AAA constructed surgical steel - the highest grade that can be given. The posts are riveted to the glue pads in a manner that makes it practically impossible for the pad to come loose from the post which allows you to create a superior quality product. These earrings have a smooth, rounded end that will not cause discomfort when the earrings are being put on or taken off and there is also a little groove a few millimeters from the end which holds the earnuts in place perfectly. The earnuts included with these earrings are made of a strong, durable clear rubber with a ribbed design that fit securely to the posts.

Our paper packs contain a whimsical and delightful assortment of materials for practically any artist. They measure approximately 8.5 x 11 inches ((21.6 x 27.9 cm) and include an enormous collection of vintage and antique paper materials, as well as a bit of vintage fabric. The contents of our large paper packs, when spread out, tend to cover an entire table! Nearly everything you receive will be vintage, with a few little bits and pieces of brand-new, fancy pieces of paper included to add to the fun. Items come from many different decades, some dating back to the 1800's. Each pack is assembled with an artistic eye, keeping your future projects in mind and making every attempt to provide you with hours of enjoyment.

Each paper pack is lovingly assembled by layering items in an artistic way and securely paper-clipping everything to a sturdy cardstock backing which is then placed in a cello resealable bag to form a delightful package of whimsy and joy for you to disassemble and reassemble into your own amazing artwork. They make a fantastic gift for that artsy, hard-to-shop-for friend in your life. They are also a great jumping off point for someone new to mixed media art or an amazing addition to the tools of an accomplished artist. To add to the fun, each pack is a surprise. Above, you can see some examples of assembled packs that may or may not end up in your own hands. (These photos are scans of the fronts of the paper packs once paper-clipped and ready for shipping - please remember the items are first carefully selected and then layered so there's tons of stuff to work with that you might not be able to see in the photo!) There is also a photo of the entire contents of one pack spread out on my coffee table, to give you an idea of just how much awesome stuff you'll get! Rest assured, each pack is assembled with the same quantity and quality of materials and the same amount of love and devotion goes into each and every one so you will not be disappointed. Each pack is individually numbered with a lovely little sticker featuring our mascot bird and is shipped in a bubble mailer stamped DO NOT BEND and FRAGILE, which, along with the cardstock the items are paper-clipped to, ensures that your pack will reach you safely.

Gluing tip! Roughen up the item to be glued (and the glue pad if you like) a bit with sandpaper for a better grip and clean both surfaces to be glued with rubbing alcohol prior to gluing.

10 QTY // Flat Back Buttons / Cabochons Made with Authentic Late 1800s Antique / Vintage French Paper

→ DESCRIPTION: Lovely flatback buttons to use as cabs (cabochons) in your jewelry, mixed media and various other projects! These cabs are made using paper from a French book published in 1891 that features an elegant serif font that has faded from black to a dreamy, smoky charcoal gray. IMPORTANT: The papers used to make your buttons are NOT reproductions, they are 100% genuinely vintage and their copyright date is verified with my own two eyeballs. To make the buttons, I take each delicate page and cut it (veery carefully!) into sections and then cut out individual circles. Next, I sandwich it in between a protective layer of mylar (reflective, flexible clear plastic which is industry-standard for this purpose) and a layer of new, bright white, acid-free paper to give it some extra strength and durability and then I press it into a button with my faithful button press.

These are mainly sold as flatback buttons (the kind you can glue to settings and pretty much anything really) but I can also make them as pinbacks (the kind you wear) per your request.

PLEASE note that they will only be made as pinbacks if you let me know that is your preference in the "note to seller" field on Etsy's checkout page! **FLATBACK** BUTTONS WILL BE SENT IF NO PREFERENCE IS STATED. This is important because I will not send you free replacements if you forget to tell me which kind you want - most orders are for flatbacks and if you don't tell me you want pinbacks, I don't have any way of knowing that that is what you want. Please tell me your preference. Please please pleeease! Thank you!

→ ADDITIONAL INFO: This listing is for the buttons only, though the round brass settings are available in my shop, as are the buttons shown in the settings (made from a different French book published in 1919). These would also make great rings, hair pins or stud earrings (blanks / bases for each of these are available in my shop!).

The buttons and settings in the 4th photo are examples only and feature buttons made from a different vintage French book and both the buttons and settings are available in my shop.
Part of the joy, for me, in vintage paper is the way it ages and some of the things that come along with age include: small spots of water damage (nothing gross or mildew-y - if a book has gotten to that point then I just dont use it), age spots, smudges and handwritten notations from long ago. These things may pop up occasionally so let me know if you prefer not have those things in your set and I'll keep that in mind when putting yours together. These buttons are all unique and I try to make each one interesting in its own way so I usually include a few buttons with either an asymmetrical balance of text vs. aged paper, chapter headings mixed with regular text, footnotes with text, smudged text and all sorts of other fun little oddities that are characteristic of individually cut circles taken from a book that's over 100 years old so please be aware of this before purchasing! If you want buttons with or without one/some/all of the aforementioned attributes of vintage paper let me know and I'll do my very best to pick out some super neat ones just for you.)

These buttons feature paper that's over a century old and it's a short book that cost more than I paid for the other books I'm currently using for text-only flatback buttons, hence the difference in prices.

Pocket mirrors are an excellent resource for showcasing your art, promoting your shop, and making your logo stand out in your customers' minds.

This listing is for 5 custom 2.25 inch (5.7cm) round pocket mirrors in full color or black and white with a maximum of 2 designs total. Your mirrors will be professionally laser printed and pressed using a top of the line professional button press. Don't settle for inkjet printed promotional items! Artwork printed on an inkjet printer is less vibrant and fades under extended exposure to sunlight. Over time, moisture can seep into buttons, magnets, or mirrors and if they are printed on an inkjet printer the ink will start to run, causing a "rusty" appearance.

When designing your product, please make sure that everything you want on the front of the button, magnet, or mirror fits inside the inner black circle. However, any background colors or imagery should extend to the thick black line. This area is the "bleed" area. The bleed area is not visible on the front of the pocket mirror, it is the part of the image that continues around and is tucked under when the mirror is pressed.

Note: I do not provide graphic design services. However, if you are having trouble with using the template and simply need an image centered properly, I can do that for you and send you a preview image via email or convo for you to approve.

♥ Artwork / Image Requirements ♥
Artwork should be 300 dpi and converted to CMYK color mode. If your image is sent to me in RGB mode I can convert it for you, just please be aware that there may be very slight variations in the color you see on your screen compared to how the images will print as they are printed on a four color laser printer and must be in CMYK format.

You can send the files to me via email in pretty much any format, though .jpg and .psd are preferred. It is best to send artwork via email as the files are usually too large to send via convo. My email address is included in the email you will receive from Etsy after making a purchase.

Please remember: I can always make an image SMALLER but I cannot make an image BIGGER, so when in doubt, feel free to make your image as huge as you want and I can resize it with no problem but if it is too small there's no way to make it bigger without losing image quality.

These earrings are graded as AAA constructed surgical steel - the highest grade that can be given. The posts are riveted to the glue pads in a manner that makes it practically impossible for the pad to come loose from the post which allows you to create a superior quality product. These earrings have a smooth, rounded end that will not cause discomfort when the earrings are being put on or taken off and there is also a little groove a few millimeters from the end which holds the earnuts in place perfectly. The earnuts included with these earrings are made of a strong, durable clear rubber with a ribbed design that fit securely to the posts.

→ DESCRIPTION: Gorgeous magnets for decorating your favorite metallic surface! These magnets are made using paper from an English to Japanese dictionary published in the 70's (1976). They feature lovely Japanese characters, numbers in circles (they kind of look like little pool balls!) and fun little wing-ding stars, plus some delightful English words as well: Technicolor! Tequila! Dixieland! Knockout! and more! The papers used are NOT reproductions! These magnets all feature lovely, carefully-chosen text with a mix of fun (and often funny) slang words from the 1970's interspersed with magnets featuring all Japanese text and the fun little wing-ding-y characters. This book has so much personality - every page is a cornucopia of fantastic words and would be super-fun to move around your fridge, bulletin board, file cabinets or whatever metallic surface you can find that needs some brightening up!

The photos featured are samples of flatback buttons that have already been pressed (also available in my shop - they can be used just like cabochons for all kinds of crafting!) so please be aware that you will not be receiving the exact buttons pictured but they are all carefully chosen and come from the same book. Please be aware that age spots, smudges and handwritten notations from long ago are bound to pop up from time to time but are neither guaranteed to be in your set or to not be in your set (and are extremely rare in this particular book). I also have a tendency to frame things a little off-kilter because I absolutely love all things asymmetrical and I just love adding a little extra visual interest with playful framing. However, if you'd prefer that I put the ixnay on the asymmetry, just let me know and I will be sure that your set is more symmetrical. Same goes for age spots, notations, etct - if you prefer not to have any of those, just let me know.
→ COLOR: The paper has not aged much and is in pretty great shape. Like most dictionaries and phrase books, the pages are incredibly thin (I place a piece of acid-free white paper behind each piece of the paper when pressing magnets and buttons to add stability and a little extra brightness to the final product). The paper has aged just a bit and has sort of a soft, pale off-white patina which I captured to the best of my ability in the photos. Please be aware that different computer monitors can show colors differently so slight variations between what you see on the screen and what you receive can occur.

These earrings have a smooth, rounded end that will not cause discomfort when the earrings are being put on or taken off and there is also a little groove a few millimeters from the end which holds the earnuts in place perfectly.

The glue pads have a slightly concave center, which creates a better environment for creating a strong bond and is designed in such a way that they can also be glued to items larger than 6mm (as long as the right glue is used for the project. All items in my shop that involve gluing now come with a "glue tips" insert that includes my tips based on research, customer input and personal experience.
→ DISCLAIMER: Please note that different monitors show color differently. Surgical steel is a light to medium silver color (not at all gunmetal or blackish so if they appear that way, it's probably because of the difference between your monitor and mine).
Once the earrings reach you as described, I've fulfilled my end of the sale and can't be held responsible if something you glue to them falls off - sanding and cleaning the item to be glued, finding the right glue for the project and following the directions for its use are all an important part in creating strong, reliable products with these earrings. → DESCRIPTION: Gorgeous flatback buttons to use as cabs (cabochons) in your jewelry, mixed media and various other projects! These cabs are made using paper from a French book published in 1919. The papers used are NOT reproductions - I study each page, covering different sections with a stencil until I find an area I think will look good, then I carefully cut out circles from the original, delicate pages, cover them with a protective layer of mylar for strength, durability and pizzazz and press them with a professional button press. Then, and only then, can I proclaim a gleeful "Ta-da!"

These buttons are all unique and also limited in supply - once I'm out of book, I'm out of buttons! → COLOR: The paper is aged to a nice, dark creamy patina which I captured to the best of my ability in the photos. They also have a seam around the edge where the glass has been fused together. Please look at the pictures in the listing - I tried to include plenty of "imperfect" ones so you know what you're getting! The open brass loop is embedded in the glass and can be reshaped to your liking with a pair of round-nosed pliers.
