This pretty little basket is crocheted with two strands at a time of very fine copper wire, worked together to add strength and a beautiful depth of texture. The body of the basket is fashioned from 29 gauge copper-colored wire crocheted together with 32 gauge (hair-fine) black wire. The rim includes the addition of 28 gauge green wire.

This basket stands up on its own, but is flexible and can be collapsed, crushed, and re-formed without causing any damage. This particular basket is a very fine weight and would work best as decor or as a 'wrapping' around a small bowl or flower pot.

It is shaped much like a floppy sun-hat, about 8" tall and about 8" across at the top. It took about 5 hours to crochet.

The enamel coating on the copper wire gives the baskets their various colors, and protects the wire from tarnishing, ensuring that it will e bright and shiny for years to come!

I took this exquisite bottle to an art festival recently, and the exclamations and the universal question, "how do you get the bottle out," were astonishing!

Of course, the greatest secret is this: there is no bottle! The 'bottle' is a crocheted copper wire frame stuffed with lots and lots of wine corks! I crocheted the frame around a wine bottle that I had on hand as a model, then removed the bottle before I began tapering the stitches at the top... The results look astonishingly convincing as a stand-alone bottle.

The bottle photographed here was lovingly created as a gift for a very special sommelier in my life. Because of the incredibly positive feedback that I've gotten about this bottle, I am offering to custom-make another bottle for you! You choose the bottle, or let me choose. Choose the colors, or leave the choice up to me! Send me the corks that you would like to be stuffed in the bottle, or I'll fill it with the corks I have on hand!

These are the second-smallest baskets I make, and they're so small that it's pretty tricky to make them! Only about 2-2.5" in diameter, and only about an inch or less tall, they are about the right size to hold a couple of rings and perhaps a pair or two of earrings on your countertop or bedside table. They are just barely large enough to hold tea-light candles, too. Great for massage therapists or others who want to add a little bit of atmosphere to a room!

This ring is very delicate, but not flimsy! An estate sale purchase, it is cast beautifully in 10kt white gold, with 27 little diamonds studding the elongated 'blossom' shape that curves gracefully across your finger. The ring band splits into three elegant vines at the top of the ring, spreading to cradle the sides of the blossom.

Each diamond is approx 1.5 mm in diameter, color and clarity unknown. Total weight of the ring is 2 grams. Size approx 7.5.

Lucinda -- Lucy, for short -- looks small, but she is fierce! Refusing to behave from the moment of her conception, a lovely metallic blue crochet hook, 2.5 mm, became Lucy's first victim!

Labor then commenced with the help of a new recruit: a 1.5 mm crochet hook proved tougher to break than its predecessor, but Lucy was not easily tamed, and with her completion she left her creator's hand maimed and inflamed...

Start to finish, Lucy emerged after more than two hours of painful labor, and immediately pounced on the broken corpse of the 2.5 mm crochet hook, which even now she refuses to relinquish.

At less than an inch tall, and barely an inch wide, Lucy is a sight to behold! Her bright coppery body is made of a single strand of 29 gauge wire which begins in a somewhat unruly, lacy weave at her full and rounded bottom, then constricts to tight, tiny stitches at her sides and to her lip, which is finished with a single strand of 28 gauge wire in bright green.

Her texture is lovely to see, and incredible to touch; she may allow you to pet her and fondle her a bit, but BEWARE! Lucy may strike at you without warning, and with devastating consequences...

This petite little round sapphire measures 5 mm in diameter, and about 4 mm from top to point. It is remarkably clear, with no visible inclusions at 10x magnification.

The color in this stone varies from a candy-apple green to teal, to a mix of green and blue depending on the viewing angle and lighting, but it is more green than blue. It is beautifully set in a silver band, 4 mm wide, that is embossed with florals and vines all the way around. Because of this continuous embossing, I would not recommend re-sizing this ring, because re-sizing would cause an interruption in this lovely embossed pattern.

Ring is size 6.75.

This orange bottle is a Leyenda del Milagro tequila bottle -- sans the tequila, sorry! I've wrapped the empty bottle in enameled copper wire, which was about a 6 hour process! The wire finials are tightly wrapped into stiff, shiny coils, which nicely offset the color of the bottle itself.

In normal lighting, the writing on the bottle is not easily visible, but in the camera's flash: voila! The writing is permanent, and the bottle itself is hand-washable in soap and water with heat tolerances up to 150C and higher.

The bottle comes with its original lid with a cork attached, and can be used as a vase, or as a container and dispenser for oils/vinegars, salad dressings, wines, or your own favorite concoctions!!

I have a number of other bottles of various sizes, shapes, and colors that I will be wrapping over the next several weeks. I have enameled copper wire in a variety of colors and gauges. A little bit of whimsy! These petite baskets are like youngsters with their bottoms exposed!

Ranging between 3 and 4 inches in diameter, and 1.5 - 2 inches tall, these particular baskets are made with BARE copper wire on bottom, then enameled copper wire in various colors up the sides...

The bare copper wire is striking in its bright, fresh, almost fleshy color, and will gradually tarnish and take on a patina over time -- kind of like skin tanning, freckling, and developing age spots. ;o)

The enameled copper wire is available in orange, brown, green, and red of various shades. I can make these in two or three colors, custom colors available upon request.

This is my FIRST attempt at crocheting a wrapping around a salt shaker, and it was quite successful! The tricky part about crocheting a wrapping for something like this salt shaker is that the shaker has a body that tapers inward at the top, so the crocheting must be done with the shaker inside the crocheting during the whole process. Getting the crochet hook through the loops with the glass of the shaker on the other side is not easy!!

These shakers took about 3 hours *each* to wrap... Done with two strands of enameled copper wire: the green shaker uses 29 gauge in copper color, and 28 gauge in green wire. The red shaker uses red in 26 gauge, and black in 32 gauge.

I am currently working on a variety of these in several color combinations with my finer wire. Custom requests available. Prices will be per-shaker, with mixing and matching encouraged! If you want just one shaker, please specify whether you would like the red one or the green one, or a custom color.

The copper wire used on these shakers has an enamel coating in a variety of colors. The enamel coating protects the copper from tarnishing, and ensures that these shakers will be bright and shiny for years to come!

The minimum heat tolerance on this enameled copper wire is 155C, 311F, so these should be safe in any dishwasher.

Crocheted copper wire earrings with green amethyst teardrops

Crocheted with 26-gauge enameled copper wire, in two rows of single-crochet stitches around the center, hanging from sterling silver french ear hooks, with a single green amethyst briolette attached below. Each crocheted circle measures 1" across, with the total height of each earring measuring 2" from the top of the silver hook to the bottom of the amethyst bead. Each earring takes about an hour to make!

Each green amethyst (also called prasiolite) measures about 10 mm from tip to base, and about 6 mm wide at the rounded base.

The enamel coating on the copper wire will protect the copper and keep it bright and shiny for years to come, and also means that the copper will not turn your skin green!

Sammie -- the only acceptable form of "Samantha" in her own mind -- is a wild tomboy with a love of extreme sports and raucous parties. She loves to crank up the stereo in her SUV while she off-roads it in places that were never meant to be drive-able. Though her heart is remarkably soft, and while she has an intense love of handcrafting fine art, Sammie doesn't mind the prickly impression that people generally have of her, and is frankly tickled by the scandalous notions that conservative old biddies have regarding her "preferences", and how she lives her life.

Recently, after a particularly injurious "gravity run" on a mountain bike -- despite wearing full body armor at the time -- Sammie found herself with 30 stitches in her arm, and made a post-ER trip to the drug store where she bought some hair dye to spice up the evening. After bleaching her short-cropped hair white, she added red dye, and was startled and delighted when the resulting color was a bright and striking PINK! She laughed for a good long time at her visage in the mirror, then shrugged and decided to just 'go with it.'

Sammie is a stocky but solid 3 inches tall, and measures 5 inches across at her rim. She is constructed of row-upon-row of tight and even stitches, with 24-gauge green wire crocheted together with 32-gauge black wire to make up her body, and her bright pink hair made up of 24-gauge bare copper wire crocheted together with 26-gauge red wire in two rows of single-crochet stitches. Her construction lasted about 6 hours.

Sammie enjoys a good squeeze and likes to wrestle -- she doesn't injure easily and is stronger than she looks! Her texture is lovely to feel, and lovelier to see! She is always a showboat, and would love to show off for your friends while holding your favorite candies, jewelry, potpourri, or other items. She would also make great candle holder for a short pillar candle, tealight, or votive -- light the candle, and watch her intricate shadows dance across your walls!

The colors that decorate Sammie are from the wire's enamel coating, which is permanent, and protects the copper wire from tarnishing, ensuring that she will be bright, shiny, and beautiful for years to come!

These hats are crocheted in the same style that I use to make floppy sun hats out of yarn -- but don't expect these hats to keep out the sun! These are made from enameled copper wire, so they are SHINY and BRIGHT, and purely for fun!

Each hat takes about 10-12 hours to make, and is adorned with semi-precious stone beads. The all-copper-colored hat is made for smaller adult heads, with citrine and amethyst chip beads, and a slightly frilly brim that frames the wearer's face. The red hat has a copper-colored stripe, and a single halo of citrine nugget beads, and is made for somewhat larger heads or wearers with thicker hair.

Both are crocheted from enameled copper wire, with the color of the enamel coating determining the color of the hat. The enamel coating protects the copper from tarnishing, ensuring that it will stay bright and shiny for years to come!
