On one of my trips...this one to Cayman Islands...I went sea bed trekking and needless to say...it was breathtaking down there!! Dark rocks with fiery red corals...I did not find any pearls down there but I imagined it would there...tucked away in an oyster in a dark corner somewhere...A gorgeous tourmalinated quartz with tons of black needles along with stick corals and a lustrous pearl.

Pousada generally means a place for resting; mostly that is a hotel and often has historic significance. I just returned from a trip to Portugal and had the good fortune of staying in a pousada which was an old castle. The entire town where this pousada was located had white buildings and red roofs. It was breathtaking!! I made this necklace using the colors of the town of Marvao in Portugal!

I grew up in India...with very tropical weather....and since then I have visited many countries in the tropics. Yes it is hot there....but the colors are so bright and beautiful. The blue sky looks flawless....the red of the flowers is more vibrant, the green is a lusher shade,the earth is a deeper richer brown. I always wish that I could capture moments like that in a little bottle and carry them with me wherever I go...

Alpine meadows are breathtaking! One of my favorite places in the world is Jasper, Canada....when you go hiking up in the mountains in Jasper....you see breathtaking meadows...you look up...there is the blue sy...very close to it is the mountain with the glacier...and then you look down, you see beautiful wildflowers of all colors spread out through the meadow. All the lucky people up north are enjoying the fall colors right now...here in Texas we only have two colors...green and brown in the fall! So, I can only dream of the glory of fall colors....and lo and behold..here is what comes out...
