Giant Vintage Globe. Beautiful Blue and Pink Tones

$48.00
Unusual untethered globe in an extra large size. Made by National Geographic, copyright 1963. I love this in a room corner, or on top of kitchen cabinets.

Good vintage condition but shows some general wear and tear. Assorted small scrapes, and some dingy spots. The thin plastic "tape" that goes around the center has peeled up and a section is missing.
This was probably rolled around on the floor by little children. It still displays well.

About 16"

Current shipping price is to the West Coast. If you are Midwest or East Coast the shipping will be less, convo me with your zip and I'll give you a quote.
Packed item is very large, I will only ship to the US, it would be very expensive to ship elsewhere.

Delivery confirmation is included.

(6.8.2x18.19)
Which proverb do you have for me?

A true friend is the best possession.
Don't be a quitter.
Temper is too good a thing to lose.
Forgive and forget.
Let bygones be bygones.
The leopard can not change his spots.
No fool like an old fool.
Half a loaf is better than none.
________________________________
Slightly large for a ceramic bank of this style:
Just over 6" tall, about 4" wide.
Chalkware or ceramic.

The base to this was once sealed with felt and glue, it has been removed. I don't have a stopper for it, I'm not sure that the standard black bank stopper would fit but it looks like it.
Nice shape, a few flecks of paint loss but no chips or cracks.

Delivery confirmation is included on US transactions.

Please note that this is a lightweight item and will best hold lightweight paper napkins.

5.75" tall x 5.5" wide

Nice shape but on close inspection (looking down) I see that this must have had something else on the base front top that broke off, probably a little sign saying "florida" or "for sale". There are 2 white bits just visible. I didn't notice it when I bought it.

I'm selling a mini collection of unusual novelty s&p dispensers, see the rest of the store.

Delivery confirmation is included on US transactions.

I especially love the color scheme.

17.75" wide x 13.5" tall (including frame)
15" wide x 11" tall (picture portion, but may be larger behind frame)

This is a well painted piece in good vintage condition.
There is a light rub to the painting surface, at the bottom center edge, it is visible in the photos. There is no paint chipping and the rub is not super apparent at first glance.
The frame edges of the bottom and right sides has black scrape stains. They could possibly be cleaned off, (certainly sanded off) the frame appears to be unstained or at least an unvarnished style.

Delivery confirmation is included on US transactions.

If you enjoy vintage clothing, bags and shoes, please visit my other shop:
http://www.sophistikate.etsy.com/
♥

One ear is broken off, I can't tell if it happened during or after carving, it's an old break.

About 16.5" tall at tallest point, 10" at widest.
Our Doc DVD. Unknown Passage The Dead Moon Story. Punk Rock DIY Film. 90 min.

$16.00
"Unknown Passage is the ultimate punk-rock feel-good flick." - Seattle Weekly

Need a little DIY / Handmade inspiration?
The couple in this film will give it to you. Hell, the couple who MADE the film might even give it to you... :)
90 min film with 90 minutes of extras. Ships free to the US. (Dvd is just 10.00 if you have a shop here, convo me to reserve.)

My husband and I made this film in 2002. It's become a worldwide underground classic, much like the band we biographed, Dead Moon.
The three subjects (married couple Toody and Fred Cole, plus drummer Andrew Loomis) are sweet outsider rebels, total DIY spirits- they'll use scrap wood to build 3 story houses, musical instruments, quirky "frontier mini-malls", you name it. They cut their own acetate record masters at home, they own multiple businesses, tour the world regularly and just plain *ROCK*. Awesome, awesome people- sweet, funny, smart, down to earth, 5 time grandparents. Some reviews are below, and you can find more info online.

In making the film, Jason and I shot about 180 hours of footage, travelling all over Europe and the US. It was a total blast and a real honor. I could go on all day about it, but I'll just say- this DVD belongs here on Etsy because it's absolutely one of the most handmade (professional quality!) films out there. We did everything humanly possible on our own. We operated 3-4 cameras, lit, did audio, edited, layed out and designed the most of the packaging art (holy 36 photoshop layers!), did the PR, the legal, the website, and now the distribution. I also designed and authored the dvd inner workings, mastered it right here in rural NC. FYI, this is not a "burned" disc- it's a real dvd, standard commercial manufactured and shrink wrap packed disc- they used my mastering and my printed box inserts. If I could have fabricated and manufactured the dvd media here on the property I would have, but yeah, you know how it is when you get busy... :)
Of course we had great help along the way with this film, extra hands here and there and excellent support. Special thanks to our friend Ron Liberti who design the cool poster art that is the basis of the cover art.
Ok, that's a little of the behind the scenes of this film, our handmade movie.
______________________________________________________________
☼☼☼
"Utterly unpretentious organically wayward homespun and purposeful without being overly sentimental this film fits its subject perfectly. Documenting the trajectory of the Portland trio Dead Moon (including the prior solo and garage-rock careers of Fred Cole) Passage is the ultimate punk-rock feel-good flick; there isn't a band that better embodies the sounds and ideals of its genre." - Seattle Weekly

"EVERY band should see this... It was like going to church. Hearing the truth." - Tara Key of Antietam, Dusted Magazine

"Unknown Passage" chronicles a truly American success story about family bonds and defining achievement on your own terms. For all of the band's diehard commitment to a rebel-rock lifestyle, ultimately the film is a glowing love letter to autonomous determination and the traditional values of loyalty, hard work and sticking by your guns." - The Oregonian

"An engaging portrait... at its core is an unexpected love story." - The Seattle Times

"While tracing the Nuggets-to-new wave history of a quirky Portland three-piece, Unknown Passage introduces a captivating mommy-rock icon in bassist Toody Cole." - The Village Voice

A rough trailer is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71YEfPHLQmE

This dual layer NTSC DVD includes the 88 minute theatrical version of the film and an additional 90 minutes of live performances, interviews, deleted scenes and archival footage. A fascinating documentary glimpse into the lives of these reclusive underground legends.

EUROPEAN / NON-U.S. CUSTOMERS:
VERY IMPORTANT! Please note : This DVD is NTSC only- ZONES 1,2,3,4,5,6 aka "Region Free", sometimes called Zone 0.
It should play in Muliti-zone / Region Free DVD players but as it is NOT PAL we cannot offer any warranty that it will work with your specific player and television set! Please be guided by your prior experience with your system.

I enjoy giving my etsy owls pet names.

Glass appears to be a dark brown when it is not as well lit as in these photos.

Please note, this is an old school glass bank with only one opening. Paper money will be stuck for good, and it will take a little patient shaking to remove coins.
Filled with coins, Barack makes a great doorstop.

Vintage Black Lacquer Asian Corner Display Shelf

$26.00
Lovely WWII era Japanese lacquered whatnot corner shelf. It folds flat for storage.
Mt. Fugi, pagoda and sailboat hand painted motif. Some of the paint is gold and silver metallic, very pretty against the black.

Good to fair vintage condition, the edges have some nicks and the finish on this has some age dirt buildup. Though I cleaned much of the age dirt off this piece, as it's black lacquer- any remaining dirt or fingerprints do show up on the shiny surface. This isn't what I'd call grungy or beat up, but it does show the patina of age and it has an antique look, so don't expect new Pier One. I've priced this lower than I would if it were in stellar vintage condition.

about:
19" tall
10.5" across front at widest point, while open
7.5" deep at deepest point

Delivery confirmation is included on US transactions.
Or stick some posies in it, it seems to hold water.

Pail: 5" tall x 5.5" wide
With handle: about 7.5" tall

Excellent vintage condition, new unused stock from a old dime store. This came straight out of storage but it does have a little paint loss on the edges here and there, the sort of wear that comes from being in a box and being moved a few times. There may be a few small spots where the paint has rubbed through to the metal. Very shiny, and brand new- just not 100% mint.

Still has original product sticker on it!

Delivery confirmation is included on US transactions.

If you enjoy vintage clothing, bags and shoes, please visit my other store:
http://www.sophistikate.etsy.com/
♥

The forms are art nouveau in style, but I think this was probably made in the 1960's.
Ceramic, with a metallic copper / bronze type glaze. Unsigned.

Heavy and very large for a ceramic piece:
14" x 14", close to 7 pounds.

Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks.
The metallic glaze tends to show finger smudges, once you get this in place you'll probably want to wipe it down.

Delivery confirmation is included on US transactions. I usually ship same day or next day but this item will take me a few days to pack safely and bring to the carrier.
My apologies, I will only ship this item to the US, it would be extremely expensive to ship this internationally.
