Unusual and rare, this beautiful fleece from the lamb of the all-American CVM (California Variegated Mutant)is more than normally soft and fine, even for lamb. Icelandic sheep are a robust, hearty, very large sheep with a double coat. The shorter, denser layer is very soft and warm, and the longer shinier fibers make for alot of character in your spinning. As the sheep age, the fiber can get coarser and is not always recommended for next-to-the-skin pieces, but with lambs and yearling, this fiber is super soft. Icelands also come in almost limitless varieties of white/black/silver/brown/fawn/bronze and often the two types of coat are several different colours
