Mokume Gane in greens, browns, and yellows decorates this small pendant. Asian characters are impressed into the top portion which has a metallic sheen. It is about 4mm thick with a 2mm hole for a bail or cord. Polymer clay is extremely strong and light.

Mokume Gane is a method of creating color patterns with multiple layers of clay and slicing through the clay to reveal the sometimes surprising patterns. You never know what you will get until you slice through the clay!

It is signed on the back. Sealed with varathane for durability.

A deep red color that has been 'antiqued' makes this donut look like embossed leather or old cinnebar. It measures 45mm with a 7mm hole.

This is a rather large (in my mind) pendant component that measures 2 inches (40mm) across and 5mm thick. It is flat, textured and treated with various colors to achieve the rich look of old tapestry that I love.
The blues in the photo look more intense than they really are on the pendant. I took the photograph outside and sometimes that seems to intensify blues.
The pendant is sealed with varathane for durability.

Rich color abounds in this pendant which features the beautiful technique of mokume' gane'. The pendant is 4mm thick with a glossy finish (it was actually hard to photograph because of the reflection of the lights). A 5mm ring extends from the top to serve as a bail.
Gold leaf floats within the colors and it is coated with varathane for durability.

This polymer clay pendant has the a look similar to Raku, but the colors will not fade and it is lighter to wear. Textured with stamps and surface treatments give it an old metallic look.
I have inserted a copper wire with loops, but this can be easily slipped out and replaced with whatever kind of hanging support you want.
The leaves are made from canes and add a lovely contrast to the artifact looking body of the pendant.
It measures 1" x 1" or 25mm x 25mm.

These oval beads are handmade, start to finish, of polymer clay and after various surface treatments they are sealed with varathane for durability. Each bead is one of a kind.

They measure approximately 25mm x 33mm with the hole running through the length of the bead. They are about 10mm at their thickest point.

This 1 1/2 x 2 inch (37mm x 50mm) pendant is rounded to give it dimensionality and sealed with varathane for durability. It is impressed and has a metallic sheen on the lower half and decorated with canework above.

Mokume Gane Polymer Clay Pendant - 09-10

Mokume Gane is a Japanese technique originally used with metals, but has been adapted to use with polymer clay. It consists of building up multiple layers of clay, then slicing down into the clay to reveal the varied colors below. No two pieces created using this technique are ever alike!

This pendant measures 2 1/4 inches (55mm) around and glows with rich greens, browns, and subtle yellows. The top portion imitates metallic bronze or copper. It is curved and is approximately 4mm thick. Because of polymer clay's light weight it is oh so comfortable to wear.
It is sealed with varathane for durability.

The hole is 1/4 inch (8mm) so that it can accommodate macrame cords, or a metal bail in addition to simple beaded cords.
