This is the first of a collection of vintage inspired designs which I've developed into patterns to suit the REAL figures of modern women.

The Marilyn's LBD is so named because I can absolutely see Ms Monroe sashaying about town in high black-suede heels and this dress!

The Marilyn's LBD is a basic sheath dress for knits. The pattern is extremely straightforward to make up. There are no darts - the shaping is all in the side seams. It's just a matter of adjusting the pattern for fit and your choice of stretch fabric (best with a 4-way stretch), and sewing up the seams.

Pattern instructions include how to scale the pattern to suit the stretch factor of your fabric and other tips on working with stretch.

The pattern DOES NOT include any seam allowances which makes it much easier for you to adjust measurements on the pattern before cutting it out. You also get to use your own preferred seam allowances (although recommended seam allowances are provided in the instructions).

~ 12-panel sweetheart overbust pattern.
~ drafted on sturdy 80gsm paper.
~ pattern drafted from 23 measurement points.
~ seam allowances not included on pattern - you add your own according to your preferred construction method.
~ instructions on how to use the pattern.

Requirements:
You will need to have some garment sewing know-how as the pattern DOES NOT come with sewing instructions. You can go to the 'corsetmakers' community at Livejournal and take a look at their archives for some useful tips.

I will send you a detailed list of required body measurements via email upon full payment. I will explain in the list how to take each measurement so that the process will be easy for you. I encourage you to actively communicate with me through email during this process in order to alleviate any confusion and anxiety. Once I have received your measurements, a customized pattern will be drafted according to the measurements you have provided. It will typically take about a week to complete the drafting of the pattern before it is ready to be shipped.

I cannot imagine ever sending my daughter to bed hungry, yet millions of children do so everyday, and many die before the age of 5 from malnutrition. This is my way of using my work as a platform from which I can contribute towards helping to fight against poverty and all of its accompanying problems.
