black and white stoneware shakers measure 3 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches in diameter. salt is scratched and underglaze stain rubbed into the marks; pepper is painted with underglaze stain and then scratched so the clay shows through. both are then clear-glazed. fill through rubber cork-stoppered bottom.

this stoneware bowl/teabowl is handmade from an extruded slab. the design is made by covering the piece with black slip (liquid clay) and scratching through the slip with a sharp tool to expose the white clay beneath. bowl measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter by 3 1/2 inches in height. i also have a listing for a white teabowl with black lines.
