One of my Journal Quilts. My inspiration - The little bird visited my yard often last winter. I think he didn't want to go south with his flock. I fed him sunflower seeds and crusts of bread all winter. When spring came I think he found a mate and fell in love . Every morning I would awake to beautiful singing and then one day he was gone. Birdie is raw edge appliqued on the top and he has a glass bead eye. Handmade makes a unique gift!

FLOWER GARDEN ART QUILT

This is another one of my journal quilts - inspired by the garden my mother had when I was growing up and the garden a dream of having one day. The purple Irises were my favorites. This is my interpretation of that garden. The quilt has a strip pieced background. The flowers are raw edged appliqued and the technique adds a very charming touch to the quilt. It is machine quilted and I have added some running stitches to it as well. Made with 100% commerical cotton fabrics, cotton batting and quilted with cotton threads. The size is 8.5" x 11" and a hanging ring is attached to the back. It is signed and dated.

Santa won't mind filling this beautiful stocking! I was inspired by days gone by. I imagine this stocking hung by the fireplace. Sally and Joey snug in their beds waiting for the arrival of Saint Nick. A pretty dollie for Sally and a toy horn for Joey. Oh!...back to reality. This stocking can hold that digital camera very nicely. I made this stocking using a vintage ruby red velvet and a vintage floral linen. I embellished it with vintage lace and buttons. It is 18" from top to toe and 6.5" at the widest point. A fabric loop is attached for easy hanging.

Santa won't mind filling this beautiful stocking! I was inspired by stockings of days gone by. I imagine this red velvet stocking hung by the fireplace waiting for Saint Nick to arrive. 'A pretty doll for Sally and a toy horn for Joey. Then he'd fill it to the brim with lots of candy and nuts. Wasn't life simple then? Oh well.. This stocking can hold that blackberry very nicely! I made this stocking using vintage materials - a ruby red velvet, a floral linen, vintage lace and buttons. It is 18" from the top to toe and 6.5" at the widest point. A fabric loop is attached for hanging.

COLLAGE CUFF 2 - GOLDEN AUTUMN

This cuff is the second in the collage cuff collection. Born out of my dedication to adorn the wrist. 'Never let your wrist go naked. Surely, it will brighten a dull winter day. The cuff is collaged with lots of small bright cotton pieces and machine stitching. Commerical and hand dyed fabrics are included. I have embellished the piece with my favorite embroidery stitches, french knots and seed stitches. Yarn has couched on the surface along with Gold and green glass beads added for a little bit of a sparkle. A perfectly unique gift for someone. Button/buttonhole closure and back with a soft green cotton print. The cuff is 3 inches wide and will fit a wrist size 6 to 7. Stay tuned - more to come!

COLLAGE CUFF 1 - AMETHYST CRECENT

This collage cuff is born out of my dedication to adorn the wrist. Never let your wrist go naked! The colors in this cuff were inspired by the colors in the Rocky Mountains. So I named the piece Amethyst Crecent. The cuff is collaged with small cotton fabrics, threads and beads. Yarn fibers have been couched onto the surface. I have embellished the piece with lots of machine stitching and three amethyst glass beads. There are shades of voilet, blues, bits of blue green all accented with a bit rust color. I have used commerical and hand dyed fabrics. It is a OOAK and can never be reproduced as the same cuff. It has a lavender soft cotton backing and button/buttonhole closure. The cuff is 2" in width and will fit a wrist size 7 to 8 1/2. A perfectly unique stocking stuffer.

Here is a tote crafted in a beautiful holiday cotton print. Perfect for carrying your holiday goodies over the hills and through the woods to grandmother's house. It is completely lined with the same beautiful print outside on the inside. There is one pocket inside for small stuff. The top band is a mottled evergreen cotton fabric and guilted in a cross diamond pattern. I have embellished this tote with a pin type brooch made with strands of yarn, cording, gold threads, velvet and satin ribbons. A lovely touch and it is removeable. The Bag is 3 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 3". Made with 100% cotton and ready to go.

I have a wonderful collection of Authenic African cotton fancy prints. Which was the inspiration for this beautiful bag. The bag is a generosous size. This sweet little house looks so peaceful and has it's very own rainbow. I love this one. The actual colors are much more vibriant. It was crafted using layers of cotton fabrics and cotton thread. These art tags came from a watercolor painting left from earlier days. They were just laying around waiting for a new life. So, I cut them up and made these tags. This piece is from my leaf series. The background fabric is a lovely olive green and light blue batik. I have hand written on top of this the names of each season to symbolize the changing of the leaves' with each new season. The writing is done with acid-free gel ink. The leaf is raw edged appliqued in a hand dyed cotton fabric and is an abstract design. The piece is machine quilted. It is embellished with beads, hand stitching and a bit of gold paint. There is a metal ring on the back for easy hanging. It is 13.5" x 9.25". The piece is signed and dated. 'And the leaves began to dance against the wind.

Thus came the name 'Autumn Jewels'. It is machine pieced and machine quilted using 100% cotton batiks. This piece will add spicy warm color into your life. Home or office. My inspiration for this quilt was when remembering my mother's garden which always included something purple. Every spring you could bet that something purple would come up. I remember most the lovely Irises and Pansies. I have always dreamed about one day planting a garden. But time has not allowed me. So, I dream of a garden with purple flowers. The background of this quilt is pieced of 100% cotton fabrics. The flower on top is raw edged appliqued. The piece is machine quilted. It is 8.5" X 11" and embellished with the word 'dream' crafted out of wire. There is a small plastic ring on the back for easy hanging. The piece is signed and dated. Shall I say 'Dare to Dream'.

My love for pears was the inspiration for this quilt. The look, taste and smell of this fruit has always delighted my senses. The pear sits perfectly on top of a raw edged pieced black and white background. The background is made of cotton fabrics.
