Handmade sleeping Greyhound Whippet memory box

The Greyhound (or Whippet) at the box top is entirely hand built. Incised winged Sighthound design appears on two sides. Exterior of the box is glazed with a warm gray satin glaze. Interior of the box is fully glazed light turquoise. This is a one of a kind piece.

Cork pads on bottom.

I made this box with the intention that it be a memory box -- a special place to put my old Greyhound's tags, a lock of hair, etc. -- after he was no longer with me, but it would make a neat box for jewelry, special tokens, etc.

Dimensions:
Total height ~ about 7 inches.
Box itself ~ about 4 inches high x 7 3/4 inches wide x 4 inches long.

The Greyhound (or Whippet) at the box top is entirely hand built. Incised Winged Sighthound design wraps around the sizes of box. Box was glazed with a glazes (one overlapping other other) giving the box a violet/dark gray tone - very unusual. Interior of the box is gloss light turquoise. This is a one of a kind piece.

I made this box with the intention that it be a memory box -- a special place to put my old Greyhound's tags, a lock of hair, etc. -- after he was no longer with me, but it could used for a urn for cremains if you choose. This box will hold approximately 5 cups.

Dimensions:
Total height ~ about 11 3/4 inches.
Box itself ~ Exterior: about 9 1/4 inches high x 3 3/4 inches wide x 3 3/4 inches length.
