Right Whale

$75.00
12" x 10" recycled wicker frame with appliqued Right Whale hand sewn to the top. Hand embroidered decoration sewn around the wicker for really cool effect. Took me about 30 hours to sew (a steal for $75) I was going for a native look, like a shrine to the Right Whale. They are highly endangered and extremely hunted. The exist in the pacific ocean and were given the name "right whale" because they are considered the " right whale to kill" for the amount of blubber in their head. Pretty morbid huh? My heart goes out to these magnificent creatures. Maybe our awareness and concern can bring a few more of these babies back. Comes with hand written educational booklet.

Musk Deer

$180.00
14 1/2"x 26 1/2" recycled fabric appliqued and hand stretched over reused frame. Original image. Many hours went into this lil man. He's a strong image with a lot of detail and intensity. If you are all familiar with the popular male musk smell mostly used in men's cologne but also in after shave among a few others. Well how they derive this musk is by killing an adult male by setting up snares along their paths. This increases the amount of casualties (females and children) they by mistake kill along the way. Japan alone imports 140,000 male deer in one year. Their presence on this earth is decreasing more and more every year.
Comes with hand written educational booklet.

wolf vs. firework II

The wolf is hand designed and sewn. Stretched with embroidery thread and embroidered fireworks. Wolves are spirit creatures, and highly respected and honored by the natives of this land (America). They now suffer relentless persecution. The abundance of wolves on this land kept the balance. Now how many of you young Americans have seen a wolf?... And how many a firework? What is more important?
Hand stitched poem on fabric. Poem written by brandon opalich. it says "if i go extinct, would you care about me? if i was caught in a snare would you set me free?" The thread matches the fabric so from far enough back you cant read it. It doesnt distract your eye from the grizzly bear. These bears are highly endangered with only 500 still alive. They are hunted still and their habitat is forever shrinking. Their food supplies are either endangered or poisoned while we all sit back and watch tv. it really scares me.
comes with hand written educational booklet.

Habitat loss and the poisoning of every body of water is starting to show its affect. Whole species of amphibians are spotted in one location one year and completely wiped out the next. Their highly permeable skin makes them more vulnerable to dioxins and carcinogens that we pollute into the earth. Our knowledge is the first step and our concern is the next! comes with hand written educational booklet.
