This is a set of 4 magnets made out of a photo of one of my pysanky eggs. The photo is glued to a wooden disc which has been painted black. The entire thing was varnished with a clear, UV protective varnish and then a magnet was glued to the back.

This is a set of 6 magnets made out of bottlecaps and a digital design made from photos of my egg artwork. The bottlecaps are filled with a clear resin and a strong magnet is glued to the back. These bottlecaps are brand new, have never been used. They are left over from when I made hard cider, but since my appletree has not been producing for a couple years, I have all these extra ones that I thought should be used! I love magnets, so magnets + bottlecaps + egg pictures = pysanky bottlecap magnets!

This is a set of 7 marble magnets that I made out of one of my pysanky eggs. These magnets are strong enough to hold up my son's artwork on the fridge, and I'm talking a paper plate with all kind of leaves, sticks and pine cones glued to it, so it is kind of heavy. The magnet is glued to the back with silicone glue.

You can see the size from the photo - they are a little bigger than a quarter.

This is an original design that I did on a brown chicken egg. There is only one tiny hole in the bottom of the egg through which it was blown. I wanted to do an egg using only green on a brown egg, and thought this traditional Chinese design suited the colors well. The symbolism of this egg is:

Birds ~ Fertility and fulfillment of wishes
Flowers and leaves ~ Life and growth
Green ~ Spring, breaking bondage, hope, freshness and wealth
Brown ~ Earth, harvest, generosity

This is a nontraditional design that was dyed on a chicken egg. There is only one tiny hole in the bottom of the egg through which the contents were removed.

The design on this egg is a repeating diamond pattern used in quilting, called the tumbling block pattern. I used color to try and make “rainbow stars” rather than emphasizing the block pattern. Stare at this egg long enough and who knows what you will see! My neighbor insists that she saw bats, although try as I might, I couldn’t see it.
