If you like your expresso, you need to drink it in vintage style. This little cup & saucer set was made my Wallace China in Los Angeles at least 60 years ago, and was part of a line called "Desert Ware". Pale beige background with a brown line on the saucer and little brown and rust floral design around the cup.
The saucer measures just 5" in diameter. Very hard to find and charming-- no flaws at all.

If you purchase more than one piece of restaurant ware china, I will discount shipping if it can all be packed into the same box safely.

When we were little, this wonderful full feature animated film was on TV every Holiday season. I haven't seen it in many decades, but remember everything about it very clearly. Whoever has the copyright: It's time for children to see this classic! The songs, in particular, were enchanting, and the animation first class.

This is a very rare original piece of music from "Mr. Bug": "We're the Couple in the Castle". Hoagy Carmichael and Frank Loesser did the music and lyrics.

In great condition and complete: measures about 8.5" x 11".
I package very carefully and don't charge more postage no matter how many you buy, so don't be shy.
Wonderful framed, or given as a romantic alternative to a card to someone you know remembers it, too.

Yep, this is what these were made for: to keep your buns warm. Now that you know about it, you know you have to have it.
This was hand appliqued, probably in a third-world country, more than several decades ago. Each of the four "flaps" are appliqued with pale yellow flower buds and pink and blue flowers, and the edges are scallopped embroidery. I don't have a bread basket, so used a big restaurant ware soup bowl to show you how it is meant to work.
Measures about 14" square.

Very good vintage condition on white cotton fabric.
I have two different ones, so keep a watch out. I am listing lots of nifty vintage fabric and combine shipping so the more you buy the cheaper it gets.

This pair of 1920's galleon ship bookends by Verona would make a great gift for the reader in your life, or the sailor who reads! The cast metal appears to be bronze, maybe brass and they are quite heavy (each weighs 2lb. 3oz.).
They have a very nice patina and detail, with a felt pad on the bottoms, but one has a missing top flag. It apparently broke clean off; I didn't even notice it at first.

Measures 5-1/2" high; 4-3/4" wide. I am making these a great deal, because the shipping will reflect their weight. Snap them up, because at this price they will not last.

What a find! An even dozen of these sweet little clear glass cocktail tumblers, each with a single white orchid printed on one side. These are excellent quality glass with weighted bottoms and have never been used. I have never seen any like them. They would be equally charming as juice glasses if you are not inclined to imbibe.

Each measures 3.5" tall and 2.5" diameter at the brim. I will pack them with the original box, but with lots of cushioning, Parcel Post.

*Hand washing recommended: I have not tried, but dishwashers were not in use when these were made and can be tough on applied designs.

Beautiful French slip or nightgown-- or just wear it around the house to get his attention. The tag says "Orfalis Made in France 46"; I do not know how to translate that size, but if you are serious please ask and I will measure it flat. My guess is medium / large.

Gorgeous simple design: extra pale pinkish fleshtone, lace at the bodice and hem, and the "straps" are part of the cut and not adjustable. Very glamorous and in perfect condition: arrives freshly laundered.

They are perfect, and so are the envelopes. Nineteen in all; printed for the National Wildlife Federation in 1987. The photos are the best description: I tried to show that the circular European robin encircled by holly is easily removed, with a punch-out hole to hang it anywhere you like. Such a nice idea for a card, and so pretty.
Each measures 6" square. I'd keep them for myself, but have a tradition of making my own cards.

I know that this is not quite 100 years old, but I hope you don't mind me calling this an antique. I figure it's plenty close enough!

This full-page advertisement came out of a magazine: I'm guessing "Needlecraft" for the size. Measures 16" x 11" and is in bright condition with no flaws other than the rough edge where it was torn out. I have had this for decades and am divesting myself of some of these wonderful full-page ads from the 1920's. There's a nifty Palmolive ad on the back.

Wonderful framed. It will be packed in a stiff cardboard sandwich. I combine shipping on all paper ephemera.

A very unusual pattern, this apron is all one piece with no sash. It slips over the head and protects you all over: one size fits all. The cotton fabric is printed in red and black with the names of days and months and there are two convenient slanted side pockets. My photos are not very complimentary, but you get the gist! There are a few age stains, almost invisible, but it will need cleaning. Otherwise, in perfect condition. I assume that this was home made.

I have never seen another spice rack like this one: usually they tend to be pretty corny looking. This one is nice: ceramic "books" each in a different color, fitting perfectly on a white-coated metal hanging holder.
I can find only one flaw: the white book has a tiny sliver off the bottom and is missing the cork. I would probably give the hanger a spray job, but it's not really necessary if you want it in original vintage condition.

Made by "Starnes 904 California", but only the red shaker has the sticker. Each "book" measures slightly less than 4" in height, 3" wide, and almost 1.5" deep.

This vintage ceramic hand is ready to stand up and show off your bracelets or other jewelry-- or just to stand up on your dresser. "Speak to the hand"......
The only flaw is paint loss on the fingernail polish. I suppose that would be an easy fix should you be so inclined. There are tiny pits that are manufacturing flaws: these little hands were not craftsman-made and often the glazing process was pretty speedy.

These little ring dishes are great for displayibg jewelry or for keeping your treasures in view. Before automatic dishwashers, women used to keep a dish for their rings while they worked away in the kitchen.
This one is meant to lie flat; it's white ceramic with gold details, measuring just 4" long. No chips or cracks, but a stain on the end of the cuff that looks like paint and could probably be easily removed.
My wedding ring is there to give a sense of proportion, so don't expect it to be part of the deal!

The bust is lace over nylon crepe, the ribbon-quality straps have adjustable metal parts, and the body of the slip is double nylon crepe sewn together for a rich, substantial feel. The bottom edge lace matches the bust. In perfect condition, newly laundered.

Very shabby little wall shelf for spices or what-have-you, even has two little drawers. It was painted white some time back, probably by the same person who made it. I have done nothing to it. The six glass apothecary jars come with it: they have nice, tight plastic stoppers.
You will need to stabilize it with a little nail or two, or some glue, and add the missing hanger; lots of potential here for someone with just a little creativity.
Measures about 11" long and 7" wide.

Standing right on the line between great and hideous is this little ceramic vase: pink painted fingernails on hands holding a "precious" fancy pink vase complete with ruffles and roses. There are no identifying markings.
If the fingernails didn't have paint loss, if there wasn't a chipped flower or two, and if the top ruffled edge wasn't missing a tiny piece-- I would call this the ultimate in Tacky Beauty: a true example of Shabby Chic.
The price is right for that special someone out there who would love to own it for it's irony or as a gift for someone with questionable taste and a great sense of humor.

This is a fine linen and silk Damask tablecloth with twelve matching napkins: the cloth and napkins are high quality with a rich damask pattern, silky and smooth.
Fine linen table damask is one of the most beautiful examples of the modern weavers' art, in both pattern and texture. Damask is closely associated with luxury; the weave of damask is very dense, resulting in a substantial cloth. The designs are often multicolored, causing them to stand out clearly against the satin background of the fabric.

This set is of the palest green on a slightly deeper green in an ivy and lattice decoration. I haven't washed or ironed the tablecloth or twelve matching napkins, but have thoroughly examined it and it looks as if it has never been used. From the color and pattern, I estimate it originating from the 1930's or 1940's.

The weave is heavy, fluid, and reversible. Similar sets, if you can find them, can cost hundreds of dollars.
The ideal choice for formal dinners and special occasions.

This is one of the most unusual wall pockets I have ever seen: the holes are rectangular. I suppose that doesn't matter if you are going to use it to display dried flowers or what-have-you, but it isn't going to work for pencils.
Ceramic with age-crackled glaze, measures about 5" high, and has no flaws.
I kind person told me that it was for holding measuring spoons, and that makes complete sense.

One of a set of five being listed for salethis is the only one with this graphic. These metal enamel trays had been stacked together for years when I found them, and am happy to report that they survived very well other than an attempt to clean some goo off the back with Goo-Be-Gone, which took some of the paint with it.
Each has a gorgeous Japanese traditional woman printed inside, all are almost 12" in diameter and a little over 2" deep.
Beautiful hung on the wall, used as bar trays: whatever. I will combine shipping if at all possible. Ask if the photos do not satisfy all your questions.

The composers were some of Tin Pan Alley's best, and the cover art wonderful. Can you see the ghost in the foliage? It's more noticeable in the thumbnail.

TWO HAWKS vintage book illustration by Louis Agassiz Fuertes 1902

There are two species of hawk on this page from an old book, from an print by Louis Agassiz Fuertes: the Red Tailed and Cooper's Hawks. Under the signature is the date 1902.
(From About.com:
"Louis Agassiz Fuertes (1874-1927) was one of the most talented illustrators of birds in history. His evocative works remain an influential storehouse of knowledge about avian species.")

These illustrations are hard to come by in this condition: I have had it stored in plastic, away from the light, for decades. If you look carefully, you can see the the page is somewhat scrunched in the lower right.
Time to let it go.

The whole page measures 9.5" x 12"' the illustration itself is 8" x 5.5" and is emminently framable.

Packaged carefully in a reinforced padded envelope, media mail. (It takes a little longer to get to you, but is cheap postage.)

If you like unusual ceramic lidded containers, this may interest you. It must have been beautiful when the pink was complete; now it has an aged "shabby chic" look. Made in Italy, measures about 5" long, 4" wide, and 1.5" deep without the cover.
The poppy design is oh so art nouveau, but I doubt it would date to that period. The lid fits quite securely.
There are no chips or cracks, but it isn't perfect. Besides the pink paint loss on the poppies, there are age stains. The yellow in the photos is reflected from the surface it sits upon; the piece is creamy white and pink.

These have been used, but all the parts are there. The outer lenses are green, the inner lenses clear glass and they are separated by a thin rubber gasket. The elastic that keeps them in place on your head is pretty darned worn and stretched out, but easily replaced. I took a couple of shots through the lens so you can see what I saw when I shot through them. The real plus is that you get to see the two handsome men in my life.

"Sweet, reet, and petite", as Fats Waller would say. Little old NYC souvenir showing the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and a skyscraper that might have been intended for the Crysler Building (but didn't quite make it).
Painted gold around the brim and on the handle.
Stands just 3" high; pretty darn nifty and definitely pre-Twin Towers. No identifying marks whatsoever, but considering the "Chrysler Building" not made in the USA.

"Sweet Genevieve" the authentic music sheet published in 1916, just before the United States got into WWI. They thought it would be over quickly; this song is from that innocent time, because shortly afterwards all music was published in a much smaller format as reality closed in. As with all sheets prior to WWI, it's large: about 11" x 14".
Special Chautauqua Edition, with the Metropolitan Glee Club featured on the cover.

This sheet is complete and in amazing shape for any age, much less nearly a century. I can use the word pristine here, so collectors take notice. If you are thinking of framing this, fine, but if you intend to cut it up please do not purchase.

You'll never see another like this. The only tag on it is as shown: no size indicated, but this appears to be one size fits most. Pink, semi-diaphanous, surely 100% nylon, no closure, elastic at the frilled cuffs, frilled hem, lace around the neck and down to the hem-- surged throughout.
Wonderful condition, truly gorgeous.
