Twilight Dreams Steampunk Necklace

$45.00
When I finished this I wondered "is it Twilight or Steampunk?" I couldn't decide, so you be the judge. The brass stamping of the dreamy young woman's face started the whole thing. She appears to be in front of a bat wing (?). After giving her a dark, rich patina, she was securely riveted to a vintage-style filigree. A copper flourish was added next at the top and the steampunk vibe came in with the vintage key dangle. An 18" hammered-copper tone chain supports the necklace and closes securely with a lobster clasp. I am a trained, if somewhat indecisive, silversmith and have assembled this piece for many years of enjoyment.

Cthulhu Goes Vegas Steampunk Necklace

$74.00
Cthulhu meets Vegas in a steampunk inspired necklace. The main inspiration for this piece must have come from some amazing magnets purchased from fellow Etsy artist janedean who is a whiz at working with vintage jewelry. I gained new respect for her and the other artists who de-and re-construct with these elements. You all make it look easy!
The starting place for this piece was a bag of gorgeous vintage jewelry scraps I had lying on my worktable. To begin, I riveted the octo down to a newish filigree capturing the rhinestone "halo". Wings were also riveted into place. Then it was a matter of drilling into the tentacles to hold various blingy dangles. For the chain, I cut a vintage bracelet in half to create the pearl-punctuated section, then finished off with a similar vintage chain. A safety lobster clasp secures the piece. The centerpiece measures 2.5"wide by 4.5" long and the chain length is 18". I am a trained, if somewhat blingy silversmith and have built this piece to last.

Fallen Leaves Memento Mori Necklace (Lost Heroines)

$110.00
This steampunk rendition of memento mori jewelry features black patinated brass leaves which are the connecting point of the vintage chain with the central elements of the piece. I have riveted "decayed" watch faces to the leaves and embellished some of them with authentic Victorian images which are protected by resin. Below the leaves are chain links which support more watch faces and Sterling charms. There is a central antique watch fob part, shaped like a Maltese cross and bearing the legend
"potash is the plant food that produces the wood of all plants-use it liberally". The name of the Virginia Carolina Chemical & Fertilizer Co. is on the other side. This lovely assemblage measures around 24" in total and closes with a safety lobster clasp on one side near one of the leaves. I am a trained, if somewhat memorable, silversmith and have built this piece to last. Let'em eat steam!

I am doing a whole series of pieces now that feature archival photos and tintypes of women from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. I think of these women as lost heroines, wondering what their lives must have been like.

Four vintage rhinestones from a defunct necklace now adorn the back of this little beauty. Ring adjusts easily from a size 6 and up. If you wear a smaller size, just convo me and I will size it down for you. Adorn yourself with an adorned cicada!

Amber Fire Steampunk Lariat Necklace

$49.00
This steampunk necklace started with the vintage amber prism and faceted bead, both antique and rare. Together they measure about 3 3/4". They are attached to the end of a 29" vintage clock chain, which has been sealed with a museum-quality wax to protect the finish. The necklace is long enough to go around the average neck twice if desired. At the other end of the lariat necklace is the brass ring the prism will go through in order to close the necklace. The brass ring is held in place by a vintage hand-painted bead from a defunct Asian-themed necklace which is accented by a slightly dangerous spiky Swarovski rondelle. Then, 6" up from the prism I have attached an ancient key both to add a steampunk vibe and serve as a possible stop for the ring. I am a trained, if somewhat circuitous silversmith and have built this piece to last.

Steampunk on the HalfShell Locket Necklace

$64.00
For this steampunk necklace, I have taken a vintage brass locket (1 3/4" x 1 1/2"), given it a dark patina and riveted all sorts of watch parts and steampunk delights to the front of it. There is a beautifully engraved, old safety pinion inscribed "American Waltham Watch Co," they don't make them like this any more! Also there is a fragment of a swiss watch dial and vintage steel and brass cogs. I have left the inside of the locket empty for your pictures, although if you wanted tintypes in there I could add them for an additional charge. The beautifully embellished locket dangles from a decorative vintage brass seashell. A heavy copper rolo chain of 18" completes the piece. A sturdy lobster clasp will keep this secure. All items, including the chain, have been clear-coated to protect patinas and finishes. I am a trained silversmith and have assembled this piece with care to last for many generations. One of a kind.

Turquoise Cicada Ring

$36.00
This is a turquoise rendition of the black cicada ring so many of you have enjoyed. The turquoise color is from a patina, not paint and since a patina creates a chemical reaction with the brass it is a little trickier to get consistent results. For this reason, I am showing several pictures so you get a feeling for the range of color. This patina requires a lacquer coating to protect it, so I have taken care of that. It easily adjusts from a size 6 up. If you have a smaller finger, convo me or leave a message to seller and I will adjust it smaller for you. I am a trained, if somewhat blue, silversmith and have riveted this piece together for many years of pleasurable adornment.

This listing is for one turquoise ring.

La Belle Epoque Brass Steampunk Goggles

$58.00
These were vintage Swiss skiing goggles, before I added the steampunk vibe to them with the gorgeous vintage filigree trim which is firmly riveted in place. The goggles had a small crack in one of the lenses which I repaired with epoxy resin. To help to hide this small imperfection I added a crackle finish to both lenses and then went over that with a touch of gold paint. This renders the goggles more appropriate for decorative wear. They are still somewhat translucent as you can see in the picture where they are off the mannequin, but not recommended for driving or other maneuvering. The filigree trim gives these an elegance not usually associated with most steampunk goggles. They have the original fabric ties and are ready to add steam to your best get-up.

Eliot phrase" I have heard the mermaids singing each to each, I do not think that they will sing to me". This lovely water sprite is blithely sailing through the waves pulled by 2 very Victorian dolphins. She is firmly riveted to a small clock back plate along with some steampunk icons, the watch face, gear and gently positionable clock hand. A double-link 18" chain complete with safety lobster clasp finishes the piece. One of a kind.

It has a rose in full bloom, plus 2 buds with leaves and is about 3 3/4" wide and deep. Attached to the center bottom of the roses I have riveted a retaining ring to provide a spot for a dangle made from a very vintage Japanese corrugated bead and a watch carcass. Hanging from either side of the rose spray are brass skulls with faceted red glass beads. All this steamy delight is attached to a 16" dark rolo chain with safety clasp. I am a trained, if somewhat dark, silversmith and have built this piece to last.

Choosing the ornate picture frame obscured her face just enough to create some mystery. Above her, I have riveted her dark angel which in turn is riveted to a retaining ring. Steampunk oddities dangle off the bottom to add movement to mystery and intrigue. A 15" double-strand chain with snap-clasp finishes this steampunk statement.

I am doing a whole series of pieces now that feature archival photos and tintypes of women from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. I think of these women as lost heroines, wondering what their lives must have been like.
At the temples I added vintage brass asymmetrical hearts over which I have riveted watch cogs. Lenses are clear, elastic head band is adjustable.

When Prof. Erstwhile Entwhistle happened upon the wreckage of the Time Machine he was shocked at what he saw. Yes, the beautiful hand-etched brass ribbing was intact, even Lady Matilda Machination's gorgeous and ingenious control panel was present. Many other inspired and well-crafted items for journeying through space and time survived the crash. What puzzled him most however was the lack of human remains. Not a bone, scrap of cloth, hank of hair was present. A chill went up and down his back as all that he found were these time-traveler goggles. It is with much regret that he has entrusted me to put these up for sale with the proceeds earmarked for the repair of his precious mechanism. Let'em eat steam!

It may be a low-karat gold, but I couldn't find any markings that prove it. The plane finding fit perfectly and was riveted on along with a clock gear and a beautiful rectangular vintage watch face. The little bird dangles below the assemblage. For more movement, the plane's propellers spin freely. The 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" centerpiece hangs from a clear-coated 16" brass chain that closes with a safety catch. They are in "as found" condition, showing some wear for their age. Lenses have not been cleaned and there are some small scratches. The screening is looking a bit tired in places and the leather/leatherette ? covering on the ear pieces is showing wear as well. I have shown these on my mannequin and also included some close-ups so you can see the markings and condition. Each lense has a tiny capital "M" on it and the nosepiece is marked "Willson" and "A". I usually like to show goggles on the eyes, but the mannequin has very little in the way of ears and couldn't keep them on. These would be great to complete your steamy attire.

In this version the wings are represented by the vintage-style filigrees overlaid with brass floral sprays. A crown is carefully poised above his head and fishing gear centered by a key dangles from the tentacles. I have given him a rich greenish-brown patina with warm golden highlights. The filigree behind his head is adorned with vintage red Swarovski crystals in a flower shape and a vintage green Swarovski crystal adorns the top and the key dangle. His wingspan is about 3 "and the whole centerpiece measures almost 4 1/2" from the top of the filigree to the bottom of the key dangle.
An 18" weathered chain supports the cthulhu. Total necklace length is around 24". I am a trained, if somewhat twisted, metalsmith and have riveted this piece together to last one or more lifetimes. Challenged by an Etsy SteamTeam contest to make a steampunk piece with moving parts, I immediately got the idea of making a steampunk version of the child's toy that has a cardboard bottom with holes and several free-rolling balls which can be put in the holes by manipulating the toy. So I used some existing holes and added a wonderful cog and several other steamy watch parts to give a more challenging terrain for moving the balls over and into. There is a protective pocket watch lens cover that has the haze of age upon it and the 3 tiny balls are Sterling silver so that they show up clearly against all the lovely old brass. The "toy" is prong-set on a vintage brass filigree and the whole assemblage dangles from a 22" vintage gold-filled chain. Some vintage chain dangles off the toy for further steamy vibes. I am a trained, if somewhat playful, silversmith and have assembled this piece to last.

Thinking I wanted more of a sense of mystery in my work I modified a vintage brass locket by sawing out a section strategically chosen to reveal a little of the underlying image, then riveted part of a filigree in place. I have secured the medieval queen archival photo image with jeweler's resin and decorated the area surrounding the image with faux gold leaf. I then added a layer of clear resin with a little artist's glitter in it. The locket measures a little under 2" by 1 1/2" and it hangs from a 24" chain secured with a safety lobster clasp
(Two more of the same filigrees punctuate the chain for a little more intrigue).
I put jeweler's resin into the tin, added the cicada and watch parts as a starter. The little crystals in the resin are vintage Swarovski. I cut the rim of the tin to add to the edginess of the piece. Dangling from the tin is a stylized watch face which has been filled with clear resin and more steamy watch parts. At the top of the tin is another gorgeous Swarovski crystal with lots of red fire. It all dangles gracefully from an 18" vintage box chain.

Remembering Colette, a Victorian Necklace

$75.00
This steampunk or Victorian necklace features wonderful vintage bling, brass, watch parts and part of a defunct rosary. I am not sure why it made me think of Colette, but it did. It started when I purchased the extra large bead chain and knew it would make a great backdrop for any number of small and precious things. The spoon centerpiece was knocking around my bench for a while. I had sawn spirals in it to hold what I knew not. The oversized and glamorous crystal fit as though it had been made for it. The crystal and many of the other bibelots came from the wonderful shop of the gypsytinker here on Etsy. There are some pieces of rock crystal, a defunct ladies' watch with a beautifully beveled crystal, the shell of another watch with a steamy gear encased in resin, a rosary fragment, and a lovely faux pearl. The necklace is 16" in length and you can see the clasp I fashioned in the close up shot off the mannequin. I am a trained, if somewhat Francophile, silversmith and have built this piece to last.

I distressed and patinaed some metal objects and they began to flow together well. Then the mailman arrived bringing a couple of small packages. In the one from pinksupply, the perfect hands--the rusty washers went back into storage. In the other, a gorgeous polymer cab face from graphixoutpost. In other words, Etsy supplies sellers to the rescue!! She now had her curvy little body complete with hands and one of the loveliest polymer faces I have yet to see. I can only hope you will agree. This beautiful lady measures just under 10" tall by 5" wide at her outspread hands. She has a handy hanging wire on the back and is signed and dated. A one-of-a-kind mermaid charmer to bring a little beauty into your world. She will swim your way in a sturdy box via U S Priority Mail.

I riveted it to a pair of black filigree butterfly wings which measure 2 1/2" in diameter. A steampunk vibe was underscored with the addition of the vintage pocket watch works patinated by me. For the finishing touches I added 2 twisted brass rings which I put a dark patina on and then added the two golden claws as dangles. The claws have pointed talons which would make this piece unsuitable for wear with delicate fabrics, so bring out your leather corset for this one! A 14 " vintage chain with safety clasp finishes this necklace. I am a trained, if somewhat Gothic, silversmith and have assembled this piece to give many years of pleasurable adornment.

It's firmly riveted on. Behind the cat's head is a beautifully engraved back plate from a long-defunct antique watch that is engraved "15 jewels" along with a serial #. Gorgeous red-to-black ombre wings were also riveted in place. A floral filigree was next with fishing gear and Czech crystals as dangles. The beautiful 18" vintage chain is threaded through a watch gear so the necklace has maximum movement. Centerpiece measure 5" across the wingspan and 4.5" from gear to bottom of dangles. To begin, I took an old razor with clear handles, cut the handles apart, cut each half into 3 pieces and put it all back together again. The ends of the handles feature Frida decals I have made and the center of each handle features a riveted on brass bee. Wire wrapped elements attach all parts with some lovely blood red coral and glass fruits. The blade of the razor is quite dull, but I wouldn't recommend wearing this with a toddler in your arms as it is still just a bit dangerous! The decals are protected with a coat of epoxy resin. Let'em eat steam!

I paired it with a circular locket carefully filling half the locket with resin and steampunk goodies. On the other half is a genuine antique tintype from the late 1800's. It has been sealed and protected with resin as well. The round locket dangles gracefully from the heart and can be gently closed if you wish. The heart has been riveted to the handshake stamping and it all hangs from the 18" double chain which closes with a lobster-style safety clasp. Centerpiece is roughly 3 3/4" by 1 1/2" with the circle locket open. I am a trained, if somewhat romantic, silversmith and have built this piece to last.

It started with a wristwatch back plate to which I first added resin and watch parts before securely riveting it to an altered domino tile by fellow Etsy artist ingeniouslycreative. I especially wanted the eye to peer out of the back plate. There are 2 dangles for this one. The key, a familiar steampunk item has been wire-wrapped with a Swarovski rondelle and attached to the domino and the little crescent moon and star dangles gracefully from the watch piece. This pendant is on a 16" copper tone chain with a safety clasp. I am a trained, if somewhat steamy, silversmith and have built this piece to last.

At the temples I added vintage-style filigrees over which I have riveted brass bees with iron washers.

After I put the green patina on the leaves they were ready to go. They support an upside-down antique keyhole escutcheon. Dangling from the escutcheon is a Chippendale-style chair backed with an antique enameled watch face to enhance the steampunk vibe. A 12" vintage chain connects it all and the black safety lobster clasp finishes out the piece. I feel this necklace is somehow about waiting, for what I do not know. I am a trained, if somewhat mysterious, silversmith and have assembled this piece with care.

She found pleasure in poring over the ancient charts and texts and had it not been for her father's stern disapproval would probably have pursued a life as a clairvoyant. This jewel, then, a gift from her brother, symbolized for her a path not taken. Read on, gentle reader.

This necklace is the second in a series entitled "A Steampunk Bestiary" and was inspired by the brass fish stampings. They have been riveted to a bow-shaped brass filigree from which
dangles a heavy vintage dark crystal which has seen a little wear. Between the 2 fish is an old and lovely watch piece made by the Elgin Watch Co to add a little steampunk vibe. The whole assemblage dangles from an 18" double brass chain accented by 2 "Mad Max" beads. Safety lobster clasp. Center assemblage measures about 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and is a heavy, durable piece. I am a trained silversmith, this item is riveted together for a lifetime of enjoyment.

I gave her a rich patina with green highlights on the leaves near her face. She is securely riveted to an authentic Victorian era brass corner. These were often used on photo albums or picture frames. It, too, has a rich patina--that of age. The main dangle is a metal tassel, once again featuring my patina and the 2 smaller ones are fishing gear. It all hangs from a vintage 18" chain with a safety lobster clasp. They are for decorative use only! The lenses are opaque, so these are perfect to adorn your head or hat perhaps, to dress and impress. Some of the darker lenses allow for some vision, but these do not. I treated the goggles with a crackle finish and faux gold leaf, then added paint to add the patina of age. The filigrees and other steampunk adornments are firmly riveted on, no fear of losing them as you dance the night away. By the time I found it, the top of the locket was gone. Watch parts and resin were added after I turned it on its side. And what lovely parts they are! an antique safety pinion engraved with a design and the words "H.W.W. Co., Waltham Mass, 17 Jewels". A gold engraved speed adjuster to make the watch go faster or slower, wonderful tiny gears and screws. One part still has a tiny ruby in it! I distressed the outside of the locket to enhance the steampunk vibe, added some fishing gear dangles and put it on a very long vintage chain (28"). The chain could even be doubled around your slender neck. I am a trained, if somewhat timely, silversmith and have built this piece to last.

Wear a one of a kind neck "sculpture" and know you will never see another like it. Using Thomas Mann's "found object sandwich" technique, I started this piece with one of my favorite images from Art History--Durer's Adam and Eve. The image is printed on HP's Premium Plus paper, made to last for 200 years, so here is an heirloom in the making. It is sandwiched between matte Plexiglass and a brass backing. The front of the centerpiece is etched with a leaf motif and sawn to fit the image. I attached a brass leaf cluster, patinaed the whole thing with the wildly unpredictable ammonia patina and finished it with a museum-quality archival wax to protect the finish. The rounded organic shapes of the young couple are nicely contrasted by the chunky recycled glass beads from Java and the lost-wax process brass elements from Nigeria. Brass hook clasp. Centerpiece is 2" in diameter, necklace is 20" long with the largest beads about 1" long. Signed and dated. $200.00 OOAK

I offer a payment plan for higher-end items like this one. 3 or 4 payments made at regular intervals over a 60 or 9o day period may be arranged. I attached several items to it including an antique safety pinion from a defunct pocket watch. It is engraved with a lovely pattern and the words "Elgin Nat'l. Watch Co." I also added the Art Nouveau disc with the profiles. Another foray into the treasure box yielded the vintage rhinestone strand and large rhinestone from a vintage earring. I hung a metal washer from the housing to complete the steampunk vibe. All that remained was to hang everything from an 18" nickel ball chain. There is a vintage-style filigree to which I have riveted the watch parts and other elements. The medallion has been crudely stamped with 114 on the front and 141 on the back and is from the early part of the last century. The porcelain pocket watch face still has one of its hands and I have added a sweet swallow. They measure about 1 1/4" in diameter and dangle from a copper bar I have fabricated and enhanced with a watch part and a dark, moody patina. Copper element is 1 1/2" wide and about 1" high. Safety catch on back. I am a trained silversmith and have riveted these items together for maximum longevity. No adhesives were used. Penny is there as a size reference only.

I started this necklace with a Victorian vintage-style filigree, 2 3/4"wide. I then riveted a copper-tone leaf spray to its top. Then I took an engraved brass round from Thailand and hand-stamped the words "be safe" on it and riveted to the filigree as well. The whole piece measures 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" and dangles off a copper-tone hammered-look 18" vintage chain with a black lobster safety clasp.

France's iconic, but ill-fated queen is represented here by a truly fabulous vintage brass stamping. The detail on her gown, fan and hair is gorgeous. She is backed by a copper piece which I have etched heavily in a squiggle pattern. Watching over her progress is an angel or cherub in a beautifully detailed flower garland. The angel's halo is an ancient watch face adding a delightful steampunk vibe. Black skeletonized leaves extend off the garland making the piece edgier. A vintage 14" chain attaches to black rings to finish off this one of a kind piece. This piece has been riveted with care to last a lifetime or more. There is a vintage safety pinion, 2 interestingly shaped brass parts and the clockworks from a vintage ladies' oblong watch. I have left the inside of the locket empty for your pictures, although if you wanted tintypes in there I could add them for an additional charge. The beautifully embellished locket dangles from a decorative vintage brass escutcheon which has been embellished with a striking black and gold Swiss watch face. A heavy double brass chain of 18" completes the piece. A sturdy lobster clasp will keep this secure. All items, including the chain, have been clear-coated to protect patinas and finishes. I am a trained silversmith and have assembled this piece with care to last for many generations. One of a kind.

It started with a watch part from a defunct vintage watch. I carefully placed black jewelers' resin in the decorative ring before adding the vintage rhinestone pin fragment over the authentic late 1800's tintype. I textured the outer edge of the watch ring before adding the blingy Swarovksi fireball--love these! Then the variation on the Hapsburg crest was carefully riveted to the bottom of the filigree. Other steampunk elements soon came into play. The very vintage, perhaps antique watch face was next and the antique safely pinion inscribed "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co" was riveted on last. The assemblage dangles gracefully from a vintage chain I have added a patina to and a lobster clasp keeps it all together. I am a trained, if somewhat vintage, silversmith and have built this piece to last.

I had recently received the stag beetle and was thinking about using it in a combination centerpiece. The locket needed a tintype in it and this seemed the perfect fit. I added a decayed watch face image to the front of the locket to keep a steampunk vibe. This piece may have grown out of a recent Steamteam discussion about what the connections might be between the steampunk and opium den aesthetics. Certainly the young woman in the locket has a dreamy, faraway look. Locket can be opened and closed and the authentic tintype inside is secured with resin. The little vial has tiny watch parts inside and the teensy cork can be removed to add or subtract items. 2 little silver charms adorn the bottom. There is a story here somewhere! The entire assemblage measures 3"x 3 1/4" and hangs from a beautiful 18" ball chain

Co., Waltham, Mass", an antique dog tag with an authentic tintype from the late 1800's to create a portrait of longing. In making this, I riveted the back plate to a brass piece made in the 1950's for costume jewelry. I added the tintype of the unhappy young man and riveted the bars over the image. Next I added the decals of the decayed clock faces, the retaining rings with watch gears, etc. Last the dog tag dangle, stamped G.P. CO.679. These elements are on a vintage 18" chain and the centerpiece is 3 1/4" wide by 2" high.

For as long as he could remember, Sam had been employee #679 at the G. P. Co. His despair was at times so great he considered throwing himself into the giant cogs and gears that dominated the steamy environment at work. It was only the thought of the ghastly clean-up that his fellow workers would have to endure that deterred him. His revulsion at the numbers 6, 7, 9 was so strong that encountering these numbers outside his workplace overwhelmed him with waves of nausea and rage. He longed for release, dreaming nightly that he was free. And here, gentle reader, we must turn aside for Sam's next actions may not bear close examination...

So I placed it celluloid-side down, put in clear resin and arranged all sorts of antique watch parts and steampunk goodies in a sort of collage. Then I added a layer of topaz jewelers' resin to finish the design. When the resin was set, the antique tin top was turned over to reveal a kaleidoscopic effect from all the parts. I wire-wrapped it with a pressed Venetian glass bead and attached it to a sturdy 20" vintage chain. There is a safety clasp to secure all this fun around your neck. I am a trained, if somewhat murky, silversmith and have built this piece to last. Let'em eat steam! I carefully placed jeweler's resin in it before adding the cicada and watch wheels. I love the deep rich red glow of the resin--it reminds me of some of the old sports medals from the USSR days--very crepuscular. This steamy centerpiece dangles from a very interesting 18" vintage chain. Something about the spikiness of the cicada and the spikiness of the chain--they were meant for each other!

The young man or woman pictured has a very dreamy quality sparking the intoxicant-oriented title. The very vintage watch face was an obvious choice and the steampunk hair embellishments soon followed. The clock hand has been riveted on with some play so that it can dangle a bit. The beautifully engraved watch safety pinion seemed the perfect joining point between the centerpiece and a gorgeous vintage double-link chain. Centerpiece measures 4 1/2" from pinion to tip of clock hand and it is 2 1/2" wide. The vintage chain is 24" in length. I am a trained, if somewhat dreamy, silversmith and have assembled this piece with care for many year of pleasurable adornment. Let'em eat steam!

I was thinking about how absolutely wretched most of the Victorian children looked in these pictures and also had in mind the memento mori concept. The adults these children may have become are long gone from the earth, but we get to remember them a bit in this piece.
This wearable brass crown is made with tintypes, brass corners and banding, found objects and my etched elements. The second picture shows a close-up of one of the etched elements I made with a tintype secured under resin. Circumference is about 22 1/2" and front is about 5 1/2" high. This piece has been in several juried art shows including a solo show awarded me by Judy Chicago.

Photos by Seth Tice-Lewis

The Frida image has been attached to a brass disc with resin. I have also used gold leaf, eggshell, more resin, artist's glitter and mica to achieve the levels and depth in the centerpiece. She is securely riveted to a vintage filigree which boasts a Swarovski crystal dangle. The asymmetrical chain is brass and copper-plated brass with vintage brass beads as accents. A lobster clasp secures the 18" chain. I am a trained silversmith and have constructed this piece to give a lifetime of adornment and enjoyment. One of a kind!

Their portraits are printed on archival-quality photo paper and then sealed under resin. The black drops are either glass or onyx and the handmade Italian glass bead chain is a rosary fragment. This is a copper wall-icon about 7"x9" and 1/2 " thick. I have etched the doors that open to reveal his image and the images of some service members who died in Iraq. Among them the first member of the Hopi tribe to be killed (a young woman) and an African-American man who was the third generation to serve his country. His Dad and Grandfather came back, he didn't. Each picture has a story behind it. All images are on archival-quality photo paper in brass bezels and protected with resin. It has a wire for hanging and is embellished with found objects. The disc dangles from an antique drawer escutcheon which has been embellished with a larger fly, a copper toned bow and more steampunk goodies. A 14" double link chain supports the assemblage and allows the escutcheon to lie beautifully flat on the chest above the cleavage. A safety lobster clasp secures everything. This necklace began with the find of the little bronze spoons marked "Siam". I deconstructed them, carefully placed resin in the bowl of each, added the archival-quality photos and gold leafed eggshell fragments. A light coat of resin finished them. They were then wire-wrapped with Czech and Swarovski crystals. The center piece was made of carefully riveted together watch parts accented by vintage diamante rhinestones. Two safety pinions, each marked with the revered name of the Elgin Watch Co. each received tiny watch face decals secured with resin. Then these elements, along with more bling and the tiny beetles were carefully attached to several vintage chains whose total length is roughly 18". A safety lobster clasp keeps all the steamy loveliness in place. I am a trained, if somewhat blingy, silversmith and have built this piece to last.

When I saw these wonderfully Victorian Chippendale chairs I knew I wanted to have some fun with them. The little Geisha, a vintage brass stamping, had been sitting around for a while waiting for her ultimate destination. It took a bit of finagling to figure out how they might coexist in the same piece. I have used a combination of rivets and jump rings to assemble this piece. The chair/geisha element measures just under 5" across and 3" high, not including the locket. I have also added a filigree and vintage watch face to add a steampunk vibe. The centerpiece rests flat against the flat part of the chest, allowing the locket to dangle into the cleavage. The locket has been left empty for your choice of images and it measures around 1 1/2" x 2". A vintage 18" chain with lobster clasp finishes out this steampunk sensation.

Put through my witches' brew of aging treatments, it looks like it was resurrected with the Titanic. It has 2 authentic tintypes from the late 1800's and dangles from a rough and rusty washer. It hangs from a vintage 16" double chain with safety clasp. This piece started with a section of a vintage tin which I formed in the hydraulic press. I then riveted it to a gold-toned bottom of an antique watchmaker's parts storage tin which I had previously cut and formed. The dark tones of the bucolic scene seemed a little too dark so I added the prong-set rhinestones to add a little bling .Red glass accents were next. Last of all, I riveted on the lovely little bird before attaching it all to a defunct vintage French wood rosary 24" chain to which I added a safety clasp.

I have riveted a brass skull to a brass disc, 1 1/2" in diameter. It also features a vintage-style filigree "halo" that encircles the skull. There is a retaining ring riveted to the disc which allows it to dangle gracefully from the gorgeous 18" black ball chain. A simple, yet powerful, piece put together with care for years of adornment.

Scarlet Courtesan Corset Brooch (Lost Heroines)

$54.00
Steampunk or Victorian? When I found this beautiful old brass piece it was in rugged shape and in need of some enhancements. Almost all of its original enamel paint has worn off, there is just a touch of leaf green and yes, scarlet. The exposed metal has developed a warm, lovely patina. I filled the rose center with a bit of resin and added the vintage rhinestone element. A glorious vintage/antique deep red chandelier prism picked up the red left on the rose element and added sparkle and movement. An image of a Victorian-era woman, perhaps one of the Lost Heroines, was attached to a watch face and accented with red resin--I love red! She is solidly riveted in place. The brooch is large (6" x 2") and has a safety catch closure. Although it probably started life as a coat pin, I think it would look charming pinned to a corset, bustle or hat. To be worn gently as it is antique.

I am doing a whole series of pieces now that feature archival photos of women from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. I think of these women as lost heroines, wondering what their lives must have been like.
This piece started with a section of a vintage tin which I formed in the hydraulic press. The sky of the country side scene seemed a little empty, so I added the steamy tiny gears etc. Last of all, I riveted on the little turquoise bee before attaching it all to a lovely vintage 24" chain. I riveted a vintage metal curlicue on to its outer edge, then dangled it from a vintage style filigree. Finishing touches include the bird and key dangles. It all hangs beautifully from an 18" vintage chain with safety clasp. Lots of movement in this one! I am a trained, if somewhat steamy, silversmith and have built this piece to last! The large vintage triangular backplate rests perfectly on the flat area just under the collarbone with the vintage watchface and scarab highlighting the cleavage area. The beautiful casting of Mercury is securely riveted to the pectoral piece as is the vintage watch face. A vintage crystal bridges the gap to the scarab beetle dangle. Two black rings are also riveted to the backplate and they feature wire-wrapped Swarovski crystal and watch piece elements which connect the heavy vintage double chain to the whole piece. A vintage safety clasp finishes this one of a kind creation. I am a trained, if somewhat timeless, silversmith and this piece has been built to last!

This airship for 2 started with copper sheet which I cut out in the shape of the ship. Etching of the details came next with a patina added. Then windows were cut for the tintypes. Last of all the copper spirals were forged and the necklace assembled. The airship measures 5" wide by 3 1/2" tall not including the watch part dangle. The total chain length including the copper spirals is 18" so that the widest part of the ship lies flat above the bustline. This one started with the lucky find of the silver demitasse spoon at my local Flea Market. I loved the twisted handle on it. I placed a decal I made on the back of the spoon and secured it with resin. Then came the rhinestone circlet, possibly an earring at one time. Into the center of the circlet I placed the image of the Lost Heroine and further secured it with resin as well. She looks as though she might have been a movie star in the silent era. Curving the spoon's handle allowed the formation of something like a question mark and provided a convenient place to drill a hole so it could be wire-wrapped with a Swarovski square crystal. All this steamy loveliness hangs from a heavy vintage 16" rolo chain and is secured with a safety lobster clasp.

I am doing a whole series of pieces now that feature archival photos and tintypes of women from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. I filled it with resin and wonderful steamy watch parts, then added the cutest pewter bee and the antique (possibly hand-made) key stamped "Remy". All this steamy goodness hangs from a vintage rolo chain with safety lobster clasp. I am a trained, if somewhat sweet, silversmith and have built this piece to last!

A crudely formed heart with holes and patina already in place is the foundation for this pirate love necklace. I riveted the brass skull and crossbones to the heart, then added the steamy gear with brass heart. An antique safety pinion engraved with "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co." dangles beautifully from the base of the heart. It was riveted to a segment of an antique pewter wine coaster which is beautifully engraved with flourishes. Along the base of the tin segment I attached a vintage black diamante rhinestone trim. The top was riveted to a retaining ring, then attached to a vintage chain. There are 2 little pewter bees with wonderful detailing on both sides ( the underside shows the feet and other details) that bridge the gap from chain to ring. Faceted brass beads serve as spacers for the bee beads. There is a safety clasp to keep it all together.

I first put a rich black patina on the fishy fellow and was thrilled to see the amount of detail revealed by the patina. You can see every scale!! To add a steampunk vibe I riveted a vintage watch face to the head area. I then riveted the fish and watch face securely to a black ring and hung it from a 16 " brass ball chain. Ready for your wearing pleasure.

This seemed like a good opportunity to combine 2 types of imagery that I especially enjoy--Steampunk and Day of the Dead. The skull was hand-drawn by me and riveted to a vintage-style cross. I hung it from an embossed brass vintage connector which dangles from an 18" vintage brass chain and is secured by a safety lobster clasp. I am a trained, if somewhat twisted, silversmith and have assembled this piece to give many years of pleasurable adornment. One of a kind.

It was much too shiny and bright so it received a patina. Now nice and dark, it was ready to link up with a distressed filigree to which I riveted a lovely brass vintage clockworks for a steampunk vibe. It is inscribed "safety barrel" and has a registration number underneath. On the wire connector between the two I have strung 3 tiny iron washers for just a bit of movement and sound. A lightweight chain connects the filigree to the restraining rings riveted to the figure 8. Hanging off the bottom of the filigree is a mildly dangerous Swarovski crystal bead with a few sharp points-- astounded that Swarovski made something so wild-- I call it the "hug inhibitor" and off it dangles a wonderful very vintage watch face. A beautiful 18" vintage chain just slightly heavier than the connector chain is fastened with a safety lobster clasp. (This is a lighter weight necklace than the ones with the bigger clockworks) One of a kind. I am a trained silversmith and I assemble these pieces with care to give a lifetime of enjoyment.

I had removed the tacky electroplating from the back plate long ago and its tonal range seemed to call out to the tulip stamping and the repoussed brass curved piece from Southeast Asia. The small brass flower stamping at the bottom added to the theme and composition. This is a largish centerpiece, measuring 4 1/2" x 2 1/2", a nice size for plus-sized wearers or anyone who wants to make a statement. All items are riveted on for durability. The hammered copper-tone vintage chain measures around 17" including a safety lobster clasp. I am a trained, if somewhat flowery, silversmith and have assembled this piece with care to give many years of pleasurable adornment.
