Vintage Monogram Appliques Large Lot for Projects

$17.50
Vintage Applique Monograms from the 70s used for embellishing Buxton leather wallets and handbags.

In our small town, you could purchase luggage and fine leather handbags at a local jewelry store. One of the services was having a monogram applied to your purchase.

These small letters were placed strategically on design spots on the wallets as designed by Buxton.

Your just weren't styling if you didn't have your monogram on your wallet.

This is for a group of 80 of the small monogram squares. They are gold letters on a black backround, they lie flat to the surface but are raised just a little so they have depth.

These will be fantastic for altered art, collage, scrapbooking and any type of work where you want to create words and phrases.

Measurements : almost 1/2 inch in length and almost 1/4 in width.
Material : Plastic

You remove the letter from the white background and the adhesive adheres to the surface.

Word of Caution : they do stick , make sure you place them where you want them.

no guarantee there is a full alphabet, but there are plenty of letters and I saw plenty of vowels.

Vintage Wood Letterpress UPPER CASE ALPHABET- 26 Letters

$98.00
A set with all 26 letters of the alphabet, this is a vintage wood letterpress set. Each letter is uppercase. These are not the same font but a variety of this old letterpress.

Size varies from mongthe largest being the W at 2 3/4 inches high and side to the smallest ones being 1/2 inch wide and 2 1/2 inches high. The X and V are almost 3 inches tall and 1 inch wide.

Acquired from a retired printer's stash, I purchased the entire print shop in order to get as many sets as possible.

I didn't break up any sets to make this group. I've sold the only complete same font set that I was able to make, all the others will be mixed fonts.

These have been used and have been stored. The letters were stored in printer drawers in a cabinet with tissue paper on top to prevent dust form caking on the letters. The patina of each letter varies. Some have very little ink on them as according to the printer, he held some back !

Vintage Apartment Numbers ReDux Recycled Numbering Three in Listing

$8.50
Vintage Apartment Numbers from the Louisiana Bayou.

When the top floors to the building closed, the little lady that owned the building pulled all the numbers off the doors. She took them to a local engraver and had him renumber the pieces so she could put them up again.

Fate had it that she never got to put those numbers back on the doors and her beloved building closed in the 70s. She just packed it all away and put it in her little building.

There's more. She opened a flea market but could not bring herself to put the numbers in her inventory so she kept them with her upstairs where she lived. One day a guy came in and offered to buy everything in the building. She decided it was finally time to move on and give it all up, well.. except for her numbers.

Now, that dear soul is no longer with us, but we have her numbers and its time they see the light of day and new life.
We already have her other apartment numbers listed.

Here's how the numbers work.. on the front side is the four digit numbers from the apartment building. They are all brass and the numbers are raised from the plate. Some of them still have a tell tale spot of black here and there.

The back side has three digit numbers where she took them to the engraver. They are all engraved and have the black epoxy into each number.

Each plate measures 2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide. Two holes, one at each end. As you can see from the pictures, they numbers will take a bend.

These come with a bit of history, but they sure are great and full of character.

You get three tags in the listing.

His job was to travel to particular oil fields, research and photograph the area and then return to the club with pictures.

You get nine pictures in the listing, there is a collage of all of the pictures and then I selected several to include as illustrations.

There is not any damage to the photographs. They are all black and white. There are three pictures of oil wells, then you get the life of an oil field represented in the other pictures.

Vintage Lead Letterpress Gothic Medieval Font Group

$22.75
This is vintage letterpress
*It not a complete font but a mix of lower and upper case
*All lead

I have looked and between the two sizes, it will become a complete alphabet, if I have read all the letters correctly, if not, it's darn close. so don't bet the farm on a complete alphabet as I may have read it wrong. You do get 90 pieces.

All total this is 90 pieces weighing five lbs.

This group can not ship flat rate international in the small box, due to the weight. It will have to go in the medium weight box, usps limits don't let it go first class at 5 lbs, either. Just letting international buyers know why the shipping is so high.

US shipping this group will fit in the small flat rate box.

Go to dafont.com , choose the following list and you can see the letters extremely similar to this group. I am showing it to be like Cloister Black.

http://www.dafont.com/cloister-black.font

Measuring Pica Style : 10 characters to the inch
the large blocks measure at 5 characters/or 1/2 inch in width and 1/2 inch in width.
the smaller ones vary as there are several small sizes

Please note : if you aren't aware of the limitations of constantly handling lead, please do your research. Utilizing gloves while working with vintage letterpress is always the acceptable standard.

These are in very good condition.

These came from a neighborhood store and the owner would take a few of the advertising items that were distributed, slip them in a box and keep the items for her memories. I was able to acquire a few advertising items at her estate sale.

These were printed in 1926 and still have the coupons on the inside. You get all four of the pamphlets in the purchase.

The color on these is brilliant.

These are small , just two pages, measuring 3.5 x 5.5 inches when closed.

The two yellow and the turquoise pamphlet shows no sign of being used at all .

The dark blue has a small crease on the bottom right hand corner, but has not been used.

All four have brilliant color, no fading, nice memorabilia.

$17.50
World War II Victory Mail Packages, all sheets unused and still in pristine condition. The packages each have 24 combination sheets and envelopes

These were used to send photographic mail to the soldiers stationed overseas.

If you aren't familiar with V-Mail I've included this explantion.

From the Washington DC, V-Mail Exhibit : an explanation of this WWII mail phenomenon

During World War II, the War Department worked with the Post Office to find an effective, fast and low cost way to allow soldiers deployed in the Pacific and European theaters to send letters home.

V-Mail or Photomail used single sized stationery which was then photographed onto 16 mm microfilm. Hundreds of letters could be transported on cargo ships to and from war zones in the same size as just a few letters, allowing for more onboard space for war supplies and troops.

With 16 million soldiers sending an average of 6 letters a week, the Post Office was overwhelmed with additional mail and a shortage of postal workers who were in the military. Sailors sending V-Mail It was estimated that around 1,500 letters could fit on a single roll of film. V-Mail also dramatically reduced lost letters and slow delivery times. Letters written home by service personnel were free, but senders in the U.S. had to pay domestic postage (3¢) for letters to loved ones overseas.

1916 World War One Calvary Banner Antique Calvary Memorabilia

$56.00
This is an authentic World War One Calvary Banner.

I have scanned this rather than photograph because I want the buyer to be aware that it is in fragile condition, yet it is still all one piece.

This is a small office banner which hung over the desk of a gentleman from New York. He joined the military directly out of college, was commissioned an officer and stayed in the military through World War One and Two. He actually served on the Nazi tribunals of Buchenwald. This banner was one of his first office items when commissioned.

It is a dark green wool/felt banner with machine embroidery. The banner measures 10.5 inches long and 6 inches wide. the bottom left corner is missing as shown in the scan. There are age holes within the piece as shown in the scan.

There is a small green tin bar that runs across the top to serve as the hanging piece, much like the calendars of this era.

Even with its wear, it has the beauty of a loved antique piece. Once removed from the officers wall, he kept it framed. All of his items have been stored until I was asked to take care of the pieces for the family.

It will be mailed well protected and will be mailed flat.

Please ask any questions which I may not have covered for you.

There is no damage to the cards, no tear, rips or stains. They are a cream color.

Please note, I darkened some of the pictures to show detail.

Several ways these were used by the young girls, of course for school programs, but also for dance cards. A small hole was put at the top and a ribbon tied to the card. The young lady hung it from her wrist and listed the names of her dance partners for the evening.

Wonderful Victorian Paper.

I am keeping a historical group of each of these for our local museum.

I have all styles currently listed.

The details in the buttons are really nice. Unique to the carded buttons is the wire attachment to the card. It is very unusual to still find vintage buttons that are attached to the card this way, most you find are sewn. All of these buttons are in good shape, you may have to dust them off a bit but other than that, great shape.
The cards are brittle and are not in the best of shape, but since the buttons are wired to them I think its best to keep them this way.

There are not any glass buttons in this group.

It's the best part of Sunday afternoon.

You know the apartment building, you went there every Sunday for five years. What happen to it, where did everything go.. nobody knows for sure, but I have the numbers.

These are little number plates used at a quaint little apartment building. Removed from the doors 25 years ago and stored to use again, lost and finally found by the estate heirs.

Listing is for three plates.

Whether you want these for jewelry, to use for identification or just for the pure nostalgia they bring, these small brass and black number plates bring you to a moment where time stood still.

Each little plate is 2.5 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. It is a sturdy brass metal plate, with a black infused background. The number stands up from the black, giving the piece a dimensional look. These are not pliable but a strong metal base.

These have been used and show a little mark here and there but nothing destructive or distracting.

A hole at each end of the piece.

I finally found these labels and I'm glad I can offer them again. The first group went to France ! (wish I was going with them) and now a batch to Australia ( I want to go there and see my friends and etsy buddies)

Then I thought I had the last twenty-five of these and offered them one last time.

Okay, my husband opened his shoebox today to get out his once a year black shoes. There weren't any shoes, but there were the rest of my labels. If you aren't familiar with MOP buttons, the longer they are left unused, the more they will look aged. MOP loves to be used. They clean up well in hot water and a soak in light, light bleach water or very hot and soapy water. I never soak an item and leave the original patina for customers to decide.

Little lock boxes, ladies jewelry boxes, even kitchen stash boxes were opened using these type of keys.

Now we wear them around our necks, on key chains, put them in altered art, collages and in scrapbooks. The flat key works so well in many art forms.

Varying in length from 1.5 inches to 1 7/8 inches, these six keys are vintage flat steel keys.

PLEASE NOTE : vintage steel keys, so there is some rust and some patina change. You can clean it off with a steel brush if you want or you can leave it for character.

You get six keys. Let me know if you need more and I can make a special listing for up to 40. I will also offer a discount for multiple purchases.

$11.00
All coins in this group are about the size of the American Dime.

From a gentleman's collection who has traveled all over the world, these were purchased from his estate.
Forty - five lightweight silver coins in this listing, its a mixed group from across the world.

Your coin group will be extremely similar to this group but not exactly. I'm utilizing the same scans since i have so many coins to list.

Disclaimer : I don't know the first thing about coin collection, I purchased these because they are from all over the world and I thought they were pretty cool.
You may get a coin that is worth quite a bit of money, I wouldn't know and really that is your business.

I'll be listing these until all 30 pounds are gone ! If you would like a certain group or have someting of interest, just ask me and I'll look for you. I can't look for a single coin but I could look for certain motifs.

This group dates anywhere from 1970 - 1995. I looked at most of the dates as i was pulling them out. Majority of these ar from the 70's and 80's and I didn't seperate the 90's from the group. You will want to clean them a bit, they are a little dirty.

I'm going to list these as vintage supplies as I think these will really be used more for jewelry than for collecting.

International Buyers : Please check your countries rule about recieving foreign money before making the purchase. If I can not ship these to your country and you purchase in advance without checking, then I will only refund your purchase price, less the paypal fees.

Sales tax resulted in the final price of items having fractions of a cent. For example, purchase of a $1.25 item, taxed at 3%, would cost $1.2875, or $1.28 and 3/4c. Sales tax tokens denominated in fractions of a cent, or "mills" (1 mill = 1/1000 of a dollar, or 1/10 of a cent). So in the above example, the customer would pay $1.29 and receive 2.5 mills in tax tokens as change. If the next purchase came to $3.4325, the customer could pay $3.43 plus the 2.5 mills in tax tokens. People did not like having to carry a second set of coins, and to further complicate matters, different states issued different tax tokens. The use of tax tokens declined and was finally discontinued in 1961, and people basically decided not to worry about fractions of a cent.

"Coinlike" tax tokens were issued by twelve different states (Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and Washington state). Tokens were made of aluminum, copper, zinc, brass, plastic (in several colors), fiber, cardboard, and paper. 1 and 5 mills are the most common denominations, but other denominations include: 1/5 cent, 1 1/2 mills, and "Tax on 10c or less."

$11.00
This group is American Quarter Size

From a gentleman's collection who has traveled all over the world, these were purchased from his estate.
Twenty coins in this listing, its a mixed group from across the world.

Your group will be extremely similar to these picture, just might have a few variations. They will be silver, gold and some bronze. A very nice mix.

Disclaimer : I don't know the first thing about coin collection, I purchased these because they are from all over the world and I thought they were pretty cool.

I'm keeping a few from the UK and a a few from other countries because they have really nice motifs to make a few personal jewelry pieces.

You may get a coin that is worth quite a bit of money, I wouldn't know and really that is your business.

I'll be listing these until all 30 pounds are gone ! If you would like a certain group or have something of interest, just ask me and I'll look for you. I can't look for a single coin but I could look for certain motifs.

This group dates anywhere from the 70's and 80's. I looked at most of the dates as i was pulling them out.

Now that the market is over, I have the letters available. These letters were used as accent pieces .

The letter has two holes for either stringing with ribbon or hanging.

The letter is 1/8 inch thick and is made from wood.

The letter is six inches high and almost 6 inches wide.

These were painted to go with shabby chic furniture so some of the paint has been buffed around the edge on one side.
Please note this letter was painted and the distressed, so the coating is not perfect.

This listing is for the Letter O .
