Vintage Applique Monograms from the 70s used for embellishing Buxton leather wallets and handbags.

In our small town, you could purchase luggage and fine leather handbags at a local jewelry store. One of the services was having a monogram applied to your purchase.

These small letters were placed strategically on design spots on the wallets as designed by Buxton.

Your just weren't styling if you didn't have your monogram on your wallet.

This is for a group of 80 of the small monogram squares. They are gold letters on a black backround, they lie flat to the surface but are raised just a little so they have depth.

These will be fantastic for altered art, collage, scrapbooking and any type of work where you want to create words and phrases.

Measurements : almost 1/2 inch in length and almost 1/4 in width.
Material : Plastic

You remove the letter from the white background and the adhesive adheres to the surface.

Word of Caution : they do stick , make sure you place them where you want them.

Vintage Luggage Monograms from the 70s used for embellishing Samsonite luggage.

In our small town, you could purchase luggage and fine leather handbags at a local jewelry store. One of the surfaces was having a monogram applied to your purchase.

These small thin metal letters were placed strategically on small squares on the handles designed by Samsonite.

Your purchase just wasn't complete until you had your initials on your luggage.

This is for a group of 200 of the small monogram squares. They are silver letters on a black backround, they lie flat to the surface.

These will be fantastic for altered art, collage, scrapbooking and any type of work where you want to create words and phrases.

Vintage Wood Letterpress UPPER CASE ALPHABET- 26 Letters

A set with all 26 letters of the alphabet, this is a vintage wood letterpress set. Each letter is uppercase. These are not the same font but a variety of this old letterpress.

Size varies from mongthe largest being the W at 2 3/4 inches high and side to the smallest ones being 1/2 inch wide and 2 1/2 inches high. The X and V are almost 3 inches tall and 1 inch wide.

Acquired from a retired printer's stash, I purchased the entire print shop in order to get as many sets as possible.

I didn't break up any sets to make this group. I've sold the only complete same font set that I was able to make, all the others will be mixed fonts.

These have been used and have been stored. The letters were stored in printer drawers in a cabinet with tissue paper on top to prevent dust form caking on the letters. The patina of each letter varies. Some have very little ink on them as according to the printer, he held some back !

Vintage Apartment Numbers ReDux Recycled Numbering Three in Listing

Vintage Apartment Numbers from the Louisiana Bayou.

When the top floors to the building closed, the little lady that owned the building pulled all the numbers off the doors. She took them to a local engraver and had him renumber the pieces so she could put them up again.

Fate had it that she never got to put those numbers back on the doors and her beloved building closed in the 70s. She just packed it all away and put it in her little building.

There's more. She opened a flea market but could not bring herself to put the numbers in her inventory so she kept them with her upstairs where she lived. One day a guy came in and offered to buy everything in the building. She decided it was finally time to move on and give it all up, well.. except for her numbers.

Now, that dear soul is no longer with us, but we have her numbers and its time they see the light of day and new life.
We already have her other apartment numbers listed.

Here's how the numbers work.. on the front side is the four digit numbers from the apartment building. They are all brass and the numbers are raised from the plate. Some of them still have a tell tale spot of black here and there.

The back side has three digit numbers where she took them to the engraver. They are all engraved and have the black epoxy into each number.

Each plate measures 2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide. Two holes, one at each end. As you can see from the pictures, they numbers will take a bend.

These come with a bit of history, but they sure are great and full of character.

This is a collection of photographs taken for the Dallas Petroleum Club, they had their own photographer. His job was to travel to particular oil fields, research and photograph the area and then return to the club with pictures.

You get nine pictures in the listing, there is a collage of all of the pictures and then I selected several to include as illustrations.

There is not any damage to the photographs. They are all black and white. There are three pictures of oil wells, then you get the life of an oil field represented in the other pictures.

1926 Carnation Recipe Pamphlets, all original lithograph pamphlets. These are in very good condition.

These came from a neighborhood store and the owner would take a few of the advertising items that were distributed, slip them in a box and keep the items for her memories. I was able to acquire a few advertising items at her estate sale.

These were printed in 1926 and still have the coupons on the inside. You get all four of the pamphlets in the purchase.

The color on these is brilliant.

These are small , just two pages, measuring 3.5 x 5.5 inches when closed.

The two yellow and the turquoise pamphlet shows no sign of being used at all .

The dark blue has a small crease on the bottom right hand corner, but has not been used.

All four have brilliant color, no fading, nice memorabilia.

1940s World War Two Victory Mail Packages Unused Collection of Blank Letters

World War II Victory Mail Packages, all sheets unused and still in pristine condition. The packages each have 24 combination sheets and envelopes

These were used to send photographic mail to the soldiers stationed overseas.

If you aren't familiar with V-Mail I've included this explantion.

From the Washington DC, V-Mail Exhibit : an explanation of this WWII mail phenomenon

During World War II, the War Department worked with the Post Office to find an effective, fast and low cost way to allow soldiers deployed in the Pacific and European theaters to send letters home.

V-Mail or Photomail used single sized stationery which was then photographed onto 16 mm microfilm. Hundreds of letters could be transported on cargo ships to and from war zones in the same size as just a few letters, allowing for more onboard space for war supplies and troops.

With 16 million soldiers sending an average of 6 letters a week, the Post Office was overwhelmed with additional mail and a shortage of postal workers who were in the military. Sailors sending V-Mail It was estimated that around 1,500 letters could fit on a single roll of film. V-Mail also dramatically reduced lost letters and slow delivery times. Letters written home by service personnel were free, but senders in the U.S. had to pay domestic postage (3¢) for letters to loved ones overseas.

This is an authentic World War One Calvary Banner.

I have scanned this rather than photograph because I want the buyer to be aware that it is in fragile condition, yet it is still all one piece.

This is a small office banner which hung over the desk of a gentleman from New York. He joined the military directly out of college, was commissioned an officer and stayed in the military through World War One and Two. He actually served on the Nazi tribunals of Buchenwald. This banner was one of his first office items when commissioned.

It is a dark green wool/felt banner with machine embroidery. The banner measures 10.5 inches long and 6 inches wide. the bottom left corner is missing as shown in the scan. There are age holes within the piece as shown in the scan.

There is a small green tin bar that runs across the top to serve as the hanging piece, much like the calendars of this era.

Usually one can find a program card tucked inside a Victorian scrap album.
These eight cards are unused and have not been folded. There is no damage to the cards, no tear, rips or stains. They are a cream color.

Please note, I darkened some of the pictures to show detail.

Several ways these were used by the young girls, of course for school programs, but also for dance cards. A small hole was put at the top and a ribbon tied to the card. The young lady hung it from her wrist and listed the names of her dance partners for the evening.

Blue Vintage Buttons All Vintage All on Cards

Especially retro buttons from the 40's, this group has 30 buttons in it and they are all with this one purchase. The details in the buttons are really nice. Unique to the carded buttons is the wire attachment to the card. It is very unusual to still find vintage buttons that are attached to the card this way, most you find are sewn. All of these buttons are in good shape, you may have to dust them off a bit but other than that, great shape.
The cards are brittle and are not in the best of shape, but since the buttons are wired to them I think its best to keep them this way.

There are not any glass buttons in this group.

Once used in a Wisconsin American Motors plant these tags were engraved with employee names and put on tool boxes. There are not any names on these tags.

Measurement : 1 inch high and 2.25 inches long
